    CORRECTION: The doghouse light stays on when in operation. My mistake

    I love the N&W class A's! They are in my opinion, the best articulated steam locomotives ever! I'm so happy Lionel made a Vision model of this magnificent engine :D

    I love the 1218 for its whistle that sounds like “hoo…HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, HOO HOO”

    Awesome video!! I got the 1210 and am loving it, Lionel really hit a home run with these! I’m digging the glossy paint on the 1218, been thinking about getting one of those too!

    Nice review, and I mostly love that N&W hooter. Not only does it sounds pretty, but it sounds powerful.

      Thanks. And yes indeed, it’s a fine whistle that suits a very fine engine both irl and model form.

      @@railfanjackson4531 I also love your brief history of the real #1218. It reminds me of Eric's Trains' doing brief histories on the real engines.

      I have been looking for a HO version of this engine for a long time! I know it’s available but it is so expensive! One question I do have is what is the dream locomotive that you want to get on your layout?

    I'm still holding out hope that Lionel will eventually produce a Vision line reproduction of the surviving Y6a 2156, would love to see a model with whistle and cylinder steam.

    Looks like it’s made of brass given how shiny it is. Why is it so shiny?

    Who likes the y6a better than the y6b

    • @railfanjackson4531
      @railfanjackson4531  Рік тому

      This is a Class A. It’s a 2-6-6-4, the Y6s were 2-8-8-2s
