Definitely, my biggest problem with buying on line is assessing the size. Check out the way amazon/Kipling show the size of their bags. While I'd love to visit your shop in Liverpool the current lockdown makes this imposssible, a better idea of the bag sizes would be very useful.
I'd love to see a video of how to actually apply these products to a bag. Seems basic but I'd prefer to know that I'm not using too much, too little, etc. Perhaps a close up sped-up video with a voiceover would work well. Thanks for all that you do and your lovely products!
We hear you Kate! We did film a small segment just on that but it took too long and got cut from the final edit. We will be doing a new video on JUST how to apply. @@leathersatchel I discovered from the video that I'm terribly lax about looking after my bags! So I'll definitely need to use the code. Fortunately my bags mostly need feeding, on the inside, so could be worse.
I have a number of gorgeous leather bags and found the video very interesting. One thing I have found is that bags I wear across the body tend to show rub signs (on the back) after some time and even lose some colour. I don't want to overdo it or spoil the natural ageing of the leather, a video to demo the best way to even out the natural colour of the leather would be very helpful. Thank you - love your products!
How about one covering and showing the possible customisations that can be done. I had a bag made with my tattoo embossed on it last year. Same font. It's amazing the different things that can be done to make each individual bag unique.
Yeah, that has been a popular request! We are looking to do a video on customisations! We are trying to be as smart as possible with time, so we can create videos with multiple subjects but not too many as we really want to get information out but we understand that there is only so much people can learn in 10 minutes :D Noted and will see how we can execute that idea 😁

Be fantastic to see a video of a bag being made from start to finish, showing how the leather is selected to how it’s cut and stitched together to how it is finished off and initial care products added. Great to see this channel Keith, well done.

It would have to be the satchel that started it all for the hanshaw family, the common satchel.
Love, love, love your bags. Have one which I used frequently. How about videos on how to fix small problem which user will encounter with leather product such as water stain , ink stain, soy stain, cracking leather, fix loose thread on the stitching which user might encounter after using the bag for long. Would love to see behind the scene video on how each bag is made till the final product? Reviews video from long term user of your product from all walks of life and different profession.

Very useful video. I use Hanshaws Elbow grease and it's great stuff and leaves the bag looking and feeling like new.

@@leathersatchel Not yet but I intend to. Running low on elbow grease. I've worked on 3 out of my 4 bags the past few days. I will be honest I don't do it as often as I should but I intend to do it more regularly.
Perhaps a video of how you go about repairing bags to extend their life, we've probably all had a favourite bag that's no use because the handle or straps come away ty

I've had my 15" satchel (British Racing Green) for about two weeks now (started an online chat with Jason about 20 seconds before the knock on my door advising that the satchel arrived) and I absolutely love it! I've been waiting for this video to come out (am in your FB owners group) so I could have some guidance on how I should care for the bag.
In the future, I'd love to see a 'Meet the Team' or a 'Day in the life of TLS' (nod to the Fab 4) type video... I'm sure that there are a lot of fans out there who would love to see first hand who is responsible for the actual construction of and the different stages of production of our leather goods.
Hi Katherine, Jase here! I remember that day well, I think I was excited and as happy when there was a knock on you door :) A day in the life would be AWESOME! We are currently planning a complete redesign of the workshop as the team grows. When we have that finished that will be on top of the list of videos to make! What product would you like to see get made? :)
I also would love to see a "what fits in the bags" video.
In future videos I’d love to see bags and there sizes and in different colors! You offer choices so maybe show what the look like in the choices.
Great, I was waiting for this topic! I would suggest some more topics like showing close-ups of the different leather types with info about the leather characteristics; a video about the customization possibilities of the bags and dis/advantages of each of them and a video on showing what can fit in the different bag types/sizes by filling them with common stuff such as A4/A5 notebooks, phones, umbrellas,...
Dragana this created a really good conversation in the team. Thank you so much for the idea and the feedback. We like the idea of a video explaining what leather is. That is right up our street. Yeah, a "what can you fit inside" is a series we want to do, we just have to prepare correctly for it as we want to get it right, covering some customisations and real-life day to day items that will fit inside. What would you prioritise from all those great ideas for the next video?
@@leathersatchel Oh thank you so much for responding and paying attention to my proposals! From what I read in your response and also from a logical order view, I would put the leather topic first, which is the raw material which every of your lovely products are based on and then continue from there on on e.g. how the leather is prepared, treated and then being used for actually creating the bags, then showing variations/customizations and in the end what could fit in it. I imagine it could be catching interest on watching the story from beginning (the leather) to the end (the prouct/usage). I hope this is some help. Very kind greetings from Germany!
Id love to see a bag drenched in rain and the transformation back to normal. I know this probably does not happen often but theres always a chance of a downpour when having my bag.
Jenn that could be fun to make. The only thing is that would take some time to do as we would need to drench, dry, come back to it etc. Which could totally be planned and done! Any other worst-case scenario videos you would like doing like this?

I would personally love to see cross comparisons. Between a 15’’ briefcase, a 15’’ satchel and a 15’’ music bag for example. I think that it would be helpful for those who are looking to expend their bag collection by splurging on a new design altogether

I'd love to see a video about the design process and maybe something about the history of the satchel. I'm absolutely loving my little festival satchel by the way! I plan on using it loads this summer and now I know how to take good care of it :D
What a lovely idea. That would need a little more planning for extra video and content to help with that. We could totally do something around the history of the satchel. The idea of the design process is nice too. What do you tend to carry in your Festival Satchel?
@@leathersatchel I haven't used it yet, but I think it's the perfect size for carrying the festival essentials: phone, wallet and earplugs.
I'd like to see a video about sizes and styles, modelled against a person so one can gauge whether it would work for them.
Really nice idea Philippa. We are looking at doing some videos in which we have a model (Gail) and Keith going through the bags, what you can fit inside and how they look when you put them on! What collections would like us to start with? We are thinking that we start with Leather Backpacks.

I suppose that I will get many arguments over what I am about to say. Firstly I have a leather belt that was made from one of the last Hides that came out of Harvie's Tannery Nantwich in 1972 that has been around my waist on and off for some fifty years plus a couple of leather jackets still being put on when the right occasion comes along. So to the point of this post I used quality hand cream on them all to keep them supple until E45 cream came along and now I use that.
I have one of your satchels and the quality is outstanding. As someone with an interest in leathercraft, is there a rule of thumb to the thickness or type of leather to use for a product, for example wallets or satchels? or is it personal preference? Thanks
Great question! Yes, we do think carefully about the thickness each product has and the type of leather. The prototype wallets, for example, have used a split bridle leather, whereas our satchels they are a full-grain that is not split. We can absolutely do a video on that, we may incorporate it into the video we do about different types of leather :)
Thank you for answering my question! (I am daniel_melb on Instagram.) For a future video, possibly you could adapt that old favourite of the luxury UA-cam community, the 'What's in My Bag' video. You could do a whole series of them, for each bag type, showing the sorts of things that can go into each size of a specific bag (eg 11 inch satchel and 12.5 inch satchel). I am notorious for not thinking through whether a bag is big enough to work for me! So the visual aid is helpful. A normal person will check the measurements, which are clearly stated on the website, but I get carried away, especially when a bargain is to be had and all thought of whether the bag is big enough just eludes me!
Daniel, we are all over that! We want to create a series based on each collection, showing what can go in each bag, what customisations we suggest for each style and also hopefully get Gail to model each one, although she is SUPER camera shy. What collection would you want us to start with?

Thank you so much for the feedback. We wanted to go deeper into each section too, but we wanted to cover so many areas that we thought it would be better to start with an overview of the most commonly asked questions and then in the future do a deeper video on each section showing people how to do it. Each one of those sections we could easily cover for 10 minutes. Which would you like to see us do first in more detail? Waterproofing? Cleaning? Conditioning? Something else?

i just ordered a patent taupe satchel so I wonder how I will care for it. I'm guessing just wipe with clean, moist, cotton cloth.
Another video that would be of interest is the types of monogramming available that goes beyond the Latin alphabet.
My maiden name is of Japanese origin and I would be interested to know if having the kanji that comprise my family name (2 characters in length), blind embossed would be an option. I realise that there is a bespoke monogramming option but I wasn't sure if kanji are something that you are able to do... this might be of interest to future customers of the East Asian persuasion (Japanese and Chinese) like myself who are also Harry Potter fans and interested in getting a HP type satchel of their own.

Katherine that is such a great idea! We could totally do that, and we do A LOT of custom monogramming! We can do a blind emboss of anything as long as we have the shape that needs to be embossed. So it wouldn't be typed out in those characters, it would just be seen as unique design, that is the bespoke monogramming you mentioned. I use Shaphir products on most of my leather goods, would they work for my satchels?
Can you use the moisturizer on the outside of the satchel?

Video linking the leathers journey from live animal- where it’s reared - conditions lifestyle to the finished product. Maybe it’s time for these products to use blockchain to allow the end consumer a visual insight to to the life cycle of the bag. R3 based in london could help with this.
