Yeah, it was hard enough to get enough berries for this back when we could go out all the time. Now I cycle through buddies in the evening and I stop when my number of berries gets down to a minimum number that I've set for myself. And when I do go out, I do every field research I can find that gives any berries of any kind.
@@chansonexmo plus the quarantine isn't helping cause we're stuck at home :(
But I'm grateful that my buddy gives me occasional gifts with 7+ berries :)
Even for a nerd like me, this seems tiring
Double hearts can be ground faster then you mentioned . Different types of battles all give you points, so in half an hour, you can battle a gym, battle a friend, battle a rocket stop and battle a team leader, that gives your 4 points. I’ve been able to get double heart status in under 2 hours. Also, spinning a new stop when the buddy is excited earns 2 hearts, which cuts the new stops you have to find in half.
This sounds like a lot of work.

@@eduardobibm really?? I'm level 30, I started August the 8th. It hasn't even been a month. I played before in 2016, didnt know what I was doing was level 4.. Started over now with a new acc, Got some crazy good pokemon and learnt everything about this game through this youtuber.
I think I can get to level 30 in under 3 months of playing. Swear to god. If I do I'll make a video and prove it cause I've heard it takes people years to get to 40.....

Thanks for the tips. Another thing to note; when battling the team leader, the buddy doesn't actually have to see any battle time at all. It just needs to be in the battle party :)

Do you actually have to complete a battle when battling the team leaders? Or can you just attack a few times and back out as demonstrated in the video? I tried battling with a few attacks like in the video but never get the hearts. I noticed though that if I complete the battle, I do get the heart. A response would be great as it would save a lot of time if I don't have to actually finish the battles.
@@tonyher22 It should let you get a heart, but it is delayed. I did it with my Garchomp

Small note: if you wait until your buddy is excited, you only need to spin one new stop to get two hearts
Nice Video! Another tip is : when your buddy finds a gift, dont open it. switch to your other (at least super) buddies and they will have a gift too. So you can stack gifts and get multiple bonus hearts for your buddies and some berries aswell

it’s 2km for a heart on all mons,,, and it takes different amounts for each to earn a candy,,, it’s 2 different things,,,
dude, you know that each heart is 2km for every pokemon, right? it has nothing to do with candies
you're reading the wrong part, all pokemon no matter what they are, only require 2km per heart, what you are reading is the distance required to earn a candy which when excited will half so 5km becomes 2.5km per candy.

Buddys just need to be in your team in a battle, they don’t actually have to be used.
Also each different type of battle gives you a point within a 30 min cooldown, so you can get a point from: trainer, rocket, raid, gym, and team leader all within the same half hour.

Tysm, because when I stopped playing for a while I was super afraid of swapping them because before you had to worry about losing all your progress and now I’m obsessed with the buddy system. My liepard is now a great buddy. I honestly still wasn’t sure if I could swap without losing what I already worked for but did it anyway and don’t regret it!! 🤗 this video was super helpful and ty for sharing it with us!!

i needed this months ago. ty.dear lord i have missed out on so much time. im going to have to rewatch this a couple of times too, i thought i had to stick to 1 max 2 per day all this time :(
personally I'm sticking with a "main buddy"
so far, I've maxed a Lucario, Fraxure, Metagross and working on a Togekiss
my standard is "bleed them for candies so I can max their CP" (all are 100IVs), rather than actually being useful for PVPing

excellently explained with the point system scenerio for excited mode achievement. I remember Trainer tips referred to them as emotion points when he released his video on it over 6 moths back shortly after the buddy system was released Great explanation and tactic though man!

Hey men. First let me congratulate you on the channel and all your videos and content. It’s been helping me a lot in the game.
Now about repeating the circle every 30 min to get you buddy excited. Can I do that with more them one buddy at a time? Or if I swap buddies during this process I won’t be able to get all of them excited at the same time?
Great video, but like others have mentioned, to get the battle heart, you dont need to use the pokemon at all, just needs to be in the lineup. So that makes it just a tiny sliver more efficient as you can skip the switching,
U don’t have to tap a few times on the screen with the team leaders to count a heart (I found out even when it lags and you can’t get in there will be a quit button and that works too)so basically I can spam the quit button spot as you get in the leader battle

The snap shot heart takes the piss, it doesnt register most of the time so i always have to go in and out of playing with it. Dunno if anyone else has this issue
It's just a delay, it will appear after a little bit
You are just way too impatient and cause of that you are losing time repeating it. It has a noticeable delay and that’s it, nothing more.

I honestly haven’t worried about getting any of my mons to best buddies, but I’ve been working on my shiny 100% lucky mewtwo night as well especially since I’m gonna teach it shadow ball with the elite tm.

The system has changed now, you can no longer get hearts for feeding if your buddy is already on the map. Unfortunately we have to wait the whole three hours to get the next heart :(
There's no point in doing this anyway anymore since xl candies were released and you can reach level 41 without the best buddy so you can stay with one buddy
To get your buddy off the map, you can switch buddies and switch back, and then you can feed that buddy again with no wait :)
What he didn't mention is you get a pt for battling your buddy and there r 4 or 5 different ways to battle and each one counts separate. 1. Battle in raid, 2. Battle in go battle league, 3. Battle in a gym, 4. Battle vs a friend or cpu trainer, its early and i can't think bof the 5th way but I think there is one. You can get a pt for each type of battle which shortens the time it takes to get super excited
Only got 2 Best Buddy. I got Lucario and Raikou. Gonna try and be more efficient getting more. Have really been bad about doing the buddy system

This is a very important bit of info and extremely useful : the pokestops has to be new to your buddy... In other words it doesn't have to be new to the player. As long as it is the first time you bring said buddy to the new location.

I'm freaking terrible at getting my buddies leveled up. I only have 1 so far, and I'm working on a 2nd. I always forget to feed em. There's no way I'm gonna be able to to swap between 20 each day on top of interacting with them lol. Shout-out to anyone that can, that's intense.

And you don’t have to wait for the delayed hearts ( it actually has already been counted ) so you can instantly switch your buddy and that previous buddy had the heart already

I've started this game October 1 last month and caught a 3-Star Meltan 12 days ago that I have been using as my buddy since then. I plan on eventually evolving it into Melmetal after I obtain the 800 Candies needed for both this game and my Let's Go Pikachu. I've caught 2 more 3-Star Meltan today and am wondering if I should aim for 4 Melmetals with the 3 being sent to Let's Go Pikachu so that I can trade someone for a Mew to Complete my Pokedex in that game.

i have 4 best now working towards quite a few more, to bad i am working on gold gyms so i save my berries so my way is slower. i was doing 30 minute timers when i was really trying but its rare i plan on walking that much alsogot harder since they added cooldowns on alot of interactions and stopped counting spinning a gym as a new stop
Sometimes when it is 2/3 full bar, you only need to feed one berry to get another heart. But it's difficult to do.
Is there any way to get pokestop near my area because I don't have any pokestop and gym near my area I need to travel more than 12 km to reach a pokestop and gym.
Is there a reason you skip a lot of pokemon at the top of the master league list as recommended buddies?
When battling, it just has to be in the team. Don't have to attack with it.
I currently have a poliwrath that I’m trying to get to best buddy for ultra league as it’s rank 2 with the buddy boost and I need to get it to level 39.5 rather than 40
I like the tips though i only use one buddy until i reach best buddy. It's much too time consuming, so my goal is one best buddy for every gobattle league. Got a 14-14-15 Toxicroak which will go to CP2500 with the boost

funny you have sableye on the list I had a sableye as a buddy then left Pokemon GO for about a year, when I returned, it said I had 270 days of a sableye as my buddy !
