Ihave been watching you reactions to specifically nightwish songs for about a year now . I enjoy the reactiond because i always learn somethng new. Ido not have the ability to 'hear' the full song at the same time . I hear rhythms and vocal sounds long before I hear and understand lyrics and meaning .. I have a difficult time fitting it all together until i have heard a song hundreds of times and I really have to dig deep to 'hear' the lyrics of a song. I am happy to get so much more out of a Nightwish song by watching reaction videos Eric puts out.. I am fascinated by Eric's cool gift of having Sound-color synesthesia.. I wish for that gift too but don't have that ability as much as I would love it . Eric probably doesn't even realize that most people don't have that gidt
This is a song that we used to hear everywhere in Finland so much that at some point I was completely over it, just sick of it. One really memorable moment when i went to the bar with my friend and I said outside just before we open the door "if they are playing Wish I Had An Angel here, we go to the next bar" which was absolutely horrible place, like an abandoned barn. We order beers, my friend smiling like an idiot because "no WIHAA!". We see free table, went to sit down and then it started 🤣

They way you describe Tuomas, i never looked at it from that angle but... man you're so correct in your analysis of what makes this band so special/cheatcode(y). These are professionals who can create what Tuomas has in mind, and do it blindly if needed, there is absolute trust in one another here. And i am of the same mindset when it comes to Marko and Floor singing together, the contrast of their styles and tones... it should not work this well, yet.. it is, for a lack of a better description, perfection, they are like a cocktail drink with ingredients you never would think work together, and then you taste it and you're blown away by the subtle nuances and distinct flavors the cocktail is giving you, apart they are amazing, together they are god tier. (imho ofc) As always, i love your analysis, and the joy on your face that you simply cannot hide, that look of "omg, just stop it already, this is impossibly good, leave some for the other musicians in this world please...." will never get old.
Always get excited to see you react to Nightwish, and your final take on the performance. There's always so much to learn with what you pick up on. To me, you're like a library for each song that is needed. Thanks so much for this great labor of love.

But Tuomas is to much of a gentleman to break up a band, so he waited, and when disaster struck in 2012 he called Floor to the rescue ( it was on her sisters wedding when she got the phone call). Check "You've got 48 hours to learn the setlist". The rest is history.
Written out of frustration and anger. Tuomas had been at a bar, with his then girlfriend, and all the guys kept hitting on her, even those that knew they were dating. I think this is a song that had to have the profanity edited out, after calming down and sobering up. From the 2004 album, Once. The song also has the distinction of being the last song Tarja sang with Nightwish, show closer at End of an Era concert 2005. Take a look at that version later, and notice the added emotion of the guys.

I Concur with all of Your Critique, Nightwish has a unique gift, Excellent Song Creator that is a Fan of his Band Members Skills and Efforts that takes his undeveloped product to levels he was not expecting to reach in the beginning, but knew it would be "What Contradiction" (LOL). I just Like to Say Nighwish is "High Talent" and when they cut lose Music Artistry is Created for the Fans. A real Question should be in the Music World is Why was this Song not a Chart Topper if Only for a Short Time "World Wide" all the Elements are there? Would Any Band want to follow Nightwish in a Live Show?
Ahhhh Buenos Aires 2018 where Floor breathed new life in to a number of Nightwish classics that pre-date her time with the band and made them her own. Phenomenal show possibly my favourite from this phenomenal band. Marco and Floor are a match made in heaven. Thank you Eric for reacting to my new favourite band 🙏😊👍❤️

And of corse, Marko "The Viking"... so, there is that !!!! Also,...This song Featured on the soundtrack of the movie "Alone in the Dark", and it became the group's most popular single in Europe and in the United States, next to "Nemo". It made it onto two U.S. film soundtracks. It reached #60 in the UK Singles Chart, the highest of any of the band's singles in the UK. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.

How would you rank the Nightwish songs you have heard? Not 1, 2, 3... but "This is the masterpiece, these are right behind it..." or something along those lines. I have my pick for Masterpiece but I think probably at least 10 are right behind it.
My first exposure to this song was when I purchased the "Decades Tour" 2 CD & DVD set off of Amazon! When I heard this song in my SUV....I remember thinking....this is what I love listening to! Every time I go to a doctors appointment, to the grocery store, to my Artist Guild meeting...."I Wish I Had An Angel" is always the first song I listen to.

I just love it. I believe the official video for this one has somewhere near 45 million views. I don’t watch this concert very much. Of the Floor versions I prefer the Wacken performance. Still, it is so great to see all of the different interactions at each concert. Maybe I’ll give this a more thorough listen. If I had one complaint and it’s a nitpick, I don’t like the background Ahs, in that key. Just a me thing. Great analysis, as usual. Just an FYI. This was the last song Tarja ever sang with Nightwish. Floor’s version is all her own ❤️
