I wish I was this chill when losing games lol, takes a level of confidence and understanding
Also a level of patience. It takes time to remember fundamentals for each character, including the ones you're fighting against.
I think a lot of it is down to Max being very content with his place as a player. He isn't going pro but he's experienced enough that he can identify what went wrong which reduces frustration a lot.
A lot of it comes down to expectations as well. If you assume you'll struggle and you're there to learn and not to win, you'll be frustrated by losing way less.
The best players never crack.

Small takeaway for me personally is Drive Rush pressure into baiting the DI and punishing it. Learning Ken's gaps in his strings is a lot a practice.

As much fun as it has been seeing Max get tons of experience as Ken vs the whole roster, I am really looking forward to seeing him use some of the other characters that have a much different play style. Got plenty of Ken during the beta.
He can't draw the same power when he plays a character that doesn't look like him. The more like Max a character looks, the stronger he is with it.
It is really funny when you notice you keep bumping into a player 😂 the other day I also kept bumping into a Ryu and we just started crouching a bunch to show we remembered each other

17:10 Its kind of crazy how much perfect parrying scales the combo. It feels like you're being punished for being able to pull off something that takes such tight timing.
It's on purpose. They want you to not perfect parry all the time since it gives so much advantage. Kinda like tekkens low parry. It also scales damage a lot.
@@kongchho That makes no sense. It's VERY hard to pull off so it's a risk. Why punish a risk. It gives advantage because you were able to pull it off on the exact frame you got hit.
@@AlgaeEater09 To be fair if you fuck up the parry timing you might just get normal parry instead, it's not like slashback where parrying makes you unable to block for like 8 frames. If you couldn't hold the parry input it'd be a totally different story, but since you can you might not get punished for whiffing it.
@@AlgaeEater09Perfect parrying can get you the corner in some situations which can snowball the match.
@@AlgaeEater09 I mean, it's not *that* big of a risk. Assuming you hold block while you're going for a perfect parry, you block the move if your timing is early, and parry the move if your timing is late. Neither of these things are particularly punishing situations to be in, and though a perfect parry's damage is heavily scaled, it still essentially converts your opponent's pressure into a free knockdown and/or resources for you, sometimes even giving you the corner. The only risk involved with perfect parry is eating a punish counter throw, which isn't even a risk at all if you're trying to perfect parry something actively telegraphed. If perfect parry *didn't* have absurd scaling it would be one of the most offense-invalidating tools in the game.

7:12 one low forward created a coin flip sequence that caused death from 75% health. The corner sucks a bit TOO much and to think that's on a character with an invincible wakeup DP they need to adjust things a bit (It's not a coincidence that all the low tier characters bar Ryu lack a wakeup dp).
So running the charts as of July. Most players are either Silver or Platinum. Gold being low and Diomand really dropping.
So basically don't sweat and have fun if you can't get to Diomand. Most people aren't going to be able to do it.
They'll get there when "it" clicks for them. There's that moment where the game slows down and you start to excel. My PS account I have a Diamond 2 Ryu, and on XBox a Diamond 4 Ryu. I had the most fun in Gold 3 - Platinum 2. It got REAL after that. Then it got SUPER REAL after Diamond 2. 😬

It is very similar to Sean's 2nd impact DP. They decided to nerf it in 3 Strike because it was too good, then turned around and gave it to Luke instead smh.

Once you get to master rank its a whole different beast...at that point youre playing the top ranks anything from 25K LP to 100K LP...my win percentage went down 4% once i got there lol

Hey Max, what controller do you use?
I can see that Max still has a couple of areas to improve. He misses a lot of hitconfirms and combos and still has ways to go to optimize the combos when he gets a big one. He relies a lot of DI in his game and I mean it works but down the line when people can react to it better, it'll be a bad crutch. This is not a criticism though, it's just what I see as a Diamond 5 Jamie who watches.
Also he could really improve his anti airs

So how does this work in SF6? Can he fall out of Master with losses or once it's achieved, it's where you are? Likewise, can he be pushed out if he goes inactive?
Perfect parry combos are scaled into the ground. That one combo should’ve done around 4K damage but it only did maybe 1500
You think Capcom will introduce Grandmaster or higher ranks?
didn't they confirm that they are adding something to that effect? though I wish they make it so that you can derank out of master because rn the match quality is all over the place in master vs diamond.

@@lunadeadyeah they talked on a interview that they would add ranks above Master and that the points system would work in a diferent way, something about betting part of your own points

Ken Masters always had more freeform fighting style than Ryu, Akuma and Ryu styles are way more similar than Ken's
