    BROKEN WHEAT SNACK
    1 cup = 250ml
    Broken wheat - 1 cup
    Onion - ½ small, finely chopped
    Tomato - ½ small
    Carrot - a little, finely chopped
    Ginger - a small piece, crushed
    Grated coconut -
    Green chilli - 2 or as per taste
    Coriander leaves
    Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
    Turmeric powder -2 pinches
    Oil
    Salt - to taste
    To prepare this delicious evening snack, I am going to soak a cup of broken wheat in water for around one hour.. since my broken wheat has very small granules, after 20 minutes of soaking in water, I am going to discard most of the water and leave only enough water for the broken wheat to level with, and I am going to let the broken wheat absorb all the water, until it turns soft..
    After it's all soft, I am going to grind one fourth of the broken wheat Along with a little water into a fine paste in a mixer grinder..
    Next, to prepare the masala, heat oil in a pan and add half teaspoon of Mustard seeds and let it splutter.. next, add finely chopped onion, finely chopped carrot, along with crushed ginger and green chilli and sauté until it fries well in the oil..
    At this stage, add two pinches of turmeric powder and sauté well until its raw smell goes away and add the tomato, chopped, along with some salt to taste.. when the tomato turns soft and mushy, add the grated coconut and coriander leaves and mix well..
    At this stage, add the soaked wheat and mix well, followed by the ground broken wheat paste..
    Add salt if required, at this stage and mix well..
    Drizzle some water on top and leave it on a medium flame for around 15 minutes to cook.
    After it’s cooked well, turn off the flame and leave it to cool down until you can touch it by hand..
    From the prepared mixture, separate small balls and shape it into desired shapes.
    Now, dip these in egg and a roll in breadcrumbs and fry in oil until golden, on a high flame..
    You can even prepare these and freeze for up to a month or two..
