This is a bit of a nuisance because changing gears involved taking your weight from one hand to change gears, a hassle if you are regularly changing gears. However, gear shifters positioned at the drop bars are very expensive compared to thumb shifters, so I can understand, given the price of the bikeBike is otherwise of good quality. Expensive to maintain, a pain in the ass to service, heavy af, and squeak like a stuck pig. No thanks.
@@GCPerformance18 I’d be willing to bet that the original Soloist Carbon…or even the original Soloist…with a basic pair of internally routed bars is within margin of error of this for CdA.
@@GCPerformance18great comment. Just the other day I was listening to an interview of Michael Boogert (Dutch former pro cyclist) who was saying that in the mid 2000 era bike were becoming stupid light and felt wobbly like fishing poles. Even as bad that they refused to ride the latest model because they had no confidence when descending on those noodle frames.
Horrible cables into the head tube
lmao it can be made much more cleaner
*for the people who can spend $7k on a bike.
yes
Just wish they didn't call it the soloist. My reason: its kinda more like a tarmac than a Venge to compare it to specialized, and the original Soloist was more like the Venge, it inspired all the aero bikes.
It's all subjective but looking at the original Soloist now I think it actually looks more like this than the Venge. For the day it looked radically aero, not so much now.
@@mikebrewer1346 you might be right, I'm going off my memory, the soloist was the bike i really wanted in the day. It looked crazy aero, like a modern TT bike, but it probably would look tame these days.
I prefer the original over this
I really ejnojyed this bike
I've rebuild a Cervelo Solutions 2006. It weights 6,95kg with pedals, bottle cages and a computer mount. It cost me roughly 3580€. It has 60mm deep section weeks and is not noticeably less stiff than my 17000€ Cervélo S5 disc 2019 at 7,3kg. This new bike is a mere shell of the original.
I forgot to mention that mine is a 51cm frame also.
I ride a bike to stay fit and hopefully insure I live a longer and healthy life. But what kind of retirement am I going to have if I'm broke? Spending thousands of dollars on the bikes today is insane because they are cheap junk that are not engineered to last long at all which means you would have to make that investment several times throughout you lifetime. I'm guessing 40 to 50 K overall. That's a lot of money you could have put into your retirement fund.
Then get a Walmart bike. What are you, our financial advisor?
@@quantumdecoherence1289 WTF? It's just a comment. I thought this forum was made for people to be able to do that. Why you got to lash out at me? Jerk.
You're going through 15 bikes in your lifetime? Maybe if you crash a lot. The carbon frame will outlast you if maintained properly
@@Shadowboost You wish. I have had lots of carbon components fail and a couple of carbon bikes. Failed and not from crashing! Fact. Never had a metal component or metal bike fail. I don't believe you are a cyclist.
Why not just build your own bike. 7 grand us a lot if money if you spend it well on a bike
They offer a 105 version for 3400. The sram force alone is 2700, it’s the wheels and group
More cheaply fabricated and silly priced sweatshop made cookie cutter disposable junk. 😀
my man snapped!!!
Yeahhh …NOT.. the bike is overpriced BS from plastic, it’s pain in the ass to adjust because of cables, disc-brakes are still bad, bike is to heavy ..
How much they pay you to do commercial on this BS..
A enthusiastic rider need Alu road bike with rim brakes
dah fuck, nothing I dont get paid for these
@@GCPerformance18 really , then I can not follow your logic recommending Ferrari as day by day car for normal driver or newbie’s..beside that this Ferrari has more cons as pros

Relatively easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA (note that is does not come with tools, so please have a set of hex/Allen keys and Phillips screwdriver handy). The bike weighs 27 lbs fully assembled, which is not bad.A couple quirks about the bike:- left brake lever operates the front brake (something to get used to if controlling the front brake with your right hand is what you usually do)- Shimano thumb shifters for the gears are positioned close to the center. Gears change fairly smoothly and fit/assembly is of good quality. A totally competent product for the price.
