I got the spec’d out version of this bike with Di2 and reserve carbon wheels and she is a beast! Fast, responsive, comfortable, just the best carbon bike and it’s beautiful! We don’t have any problems keeping up with the S5s and Tarmacs in our group. Zoooom!!!
Same here. Picked up my Ultegra Di2 Gold Flake last week. The bike is insanely fast and smooth. I upgraded to an Enve AR bar and stem. Just waiting on the GP5000s TR to come and it'll be perfect!
@@hikerbikeromar You mentioned putting on some aero wheels. What rim depth do you think would be a good pair for the frame given that it’s a good balance of weight and speed?
@Nels Dale, great questions! Over the years, I’ve come to find 48mm rim depth the perfect compromise between weight and aerodynamics. Moreover, I’ve found that anything above 48mm starts to be more difficult to control in crosswinds, and confident bike handling becomes much more important. Regarding the aero bars, for me it was really more of a value thing. The aero bars that the higher specced versions of this bike ship with are a more expensive carbon fiber, so the weight is reduced, and I just wish Cervelo would have just made the aero bars standard on all the versions just to increase the value a bit. The actual aero watt savings I’m sure are so minimal, so I am not worried about that at all. Even the weight savings is pretty minimal. The only real reason I would now spend the money to switch to aftermarket aero bars are for comfort since the palms have a wider platform to rest on, and for looks :)
I ended up getting the Cervelo Caledonia with the full mech 105 groupset, including the crank, for $3200. It's basically the endurance version of the soloist but fast when you want it to be. Great bike and great review.
I bought this bike last week. Coming from an Aethos, I just want something stiffer and more "race" oriented. So far, love it. I test rode a SL8 and it didn't wow me. Opted for the force build with the reserve wheels. First ride showed a higher average speed than the Aethos and the same comfort.

Just press the button for kg's for a second, will ya.
I am for any bike videos that don't have British accents 😂
Van rysel EDR CF is full carbon, hydro disc, full 105 at 2000 euros and 8.2kg , like damn...makes this cervelo look overpriced af
No 105 Crankset. Man.. thats just wrong
I completely agree 100%!!!! I have no clue why they would not include a 105 crankset, I really don't get it.
Heavy
Mechanical over electrical anyway. Electronic stuff is garbage.
There is no reason to justify the price, shit components. Is the carbon at least the best version of carbon available by cervelo?
All Shimano cranksets look the same to me. There's nothing visually special about them. 105 or not, it looks the same.
True, only weight is different
What a pig of a bike. Need to throw out the saddle, wheels, tires, stem, crank and handlebars. I wonder if you can get it below 17 lbs.
Only with rim brakes, bro. Good luck getting any disc brake bike below 17lbs without throwing thousands for Liteweight $5k wheels, all carbon bits and upgrades. It's not the frame.
Cool bike. I wish I could afford a bike like this. Trek domane al4 I have lol.
I have the Trek Domane AL 4 as well, and it’s one of my favorite bikes I’ve ever ridden!!
@@hikerbikeromar it’s my first road bike but I do like it. Takes a while after not riding a bike for 20 years. Your videos are very good and informative. Keep up the good work 👍
