Your tutorials are the only one that get straight to the point and I learn exactly what I need. So far every tutorial I found is mostly focusing on general modelling, but you also focus on printing. My skills have grown massively thanks to you!
Thanks for the kind words. It is really great to hear when people find these videos helpful so I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. I have considered doing some 3d printing related videos but I don't want to alienate my existing audience. That said, the video I am working on now will include a little bit about adding supports in your slicer and even have a bit of printing in it :)
I could be wrong but when you added the solidify modifier and there were artifacts you likely would fix them if you moved the solidify modifier above the shrink wrap modifier. That way it alters it first then wraps it along the heart. I think the reverse was likely causing a bit of a fight.
The issue with doing that is that the shrinkwrap modifier will shrinkwrap the vertices created by the solidify too so that you will end up with flat text again. You could add the text vertices as a vertex group and make sure the shrinkwrap only affected them I guess. That might work though in this example the text was still a text object rather than a mesh. Thanks for making me think a bit about this though. I am now off to try it by converting to mesh, add a vertex group, then solidify and then shrinkwrap. UPDATE: it still breaks it.
@@notverygoodguy Oh! Hey! as long as I have you, may I ask Where does my circle start? I'm trying to move the words so that they begin on a different face of the cube - neither rotating the circle nor rotating the text mesh along the Z is correct? Seems like I out to be able to use an empty, but that messes up the shrinkwrap/curve altogether....?
I was looking for ages on how to do this. Most things that came up were just how to create text with no mention of other objects. Thank you so much!
Very glad to hear this was helpful. Thanks for the feedback.

@@notverygoodguy Looking forward to it!
to stop the circular bits when applying shrinkwrap, subdivide another 100 times

The 45 degree extrusion technique and your bad normals indicator always-on setting are both brilliant. You need to change the name of your channel!
PS: The curvey bits around the corners of the cube go away if you increase your curve's segment subdivisions even more.
Thanks a lot :) The normals thing really, really should be the blender default!!
@@powersprouter Ahhh, yes. Thank you

Ah! nevermind! just needed to grab the text and move along the x. ANYWAY! Thank you!!!
thank you so much for this tutorial!! it was really helpful!
Very pleased it was helpful!
Keep up the good work !👍
Thank you but how have I missed your channel! You are doing amazing things. Different than any other channels I have seen! Great work.
@@notverygoodguyThank you for the friendly comment 😊Happy to hear you found a different channel.
I get an error where the text does not wrap to the curve at all
Perhaps you could describe the problem you are having in more detail.
How do you turn the blue transparent with the face orientation?
This video will show you how to at 2:39 but basically you change the blue to transparent in settings. ua-cam.com/video/RRZh390yo_M/v-deo.html
@@notverygoodguy thanks dude!
