I've had this machine for nearly 10 years (Krups Pixie in Europe). In addition to your review, when you get to about 1000 capsule uses, there is a descaling mode where you hold down both buttons on power up and it will continue pumping until you stop it, so you put descaling solution in the water container and let it pump through straight in to the sink or a bowl. I also have a pod recycling tool called Outpresso which pushes out the used coffee and leaves just the aluminium for recycling.
Erin, nice review but the section about recycling was silly. If you ever get the chance, do some research into recycling. You will find that recycling is politics and nothing more. Only newspapers and aluminum cans make any sense.
I bought a used one recently and I noticed that it throws some water from the middle of the machine (I Believe it might be leaking). Do you know if there's anything I can do to fix this? I've tried descaling with a vinegar solution. The Nespresso descaling is so expensive .-.
That doesn’t sound good. I use this powder to clean and de scale all my coffee machines. It may seem pricey, but it will last you for several years. amzn.to/3UNbA0L
Just espresso. Though you could reprogram one of the shots to use more water (search for my how-to) if you need to. But you'd use almost the whole water tank... Take a look at the Nespresso Vertuo line, which can do both (review - and comparison!- also here on the channel!)
But it will make a very weak cup of coffee, your better off leaving the lungo at the default seting then run 2 pods through, one afte the other to make a 8oz cup coffee ☕ 😊

Thanks for the info!
Thanks, Erin! Your review is helpful and confirmed for me that the Pixie is the right machine for my family 🙂
Perfect, glad I could help!
I got mine for $129 at Canadian tire today, so I'm not likely to complain about the lack of luxury features!
Fair enough!
Still one of my favourite Nespresso units (Pixie Titan). I dropped one down two flights of stairs while moving. Still works perfect, two years later.
Excellent review! Thanks for this. Based on your review I purchased one and love it.
Great to hear, and thanks for sharing!
Just to correct you.. the delongui mini and that machine are the same with a different name .
My sister has those machine. Very nice and it’s quick! Thanks for sharing Erin!
Thanks Scott!
@@ErinLawrenceTV You are an very welcome Erin!

Tell me more… Is it all just going to a giant landfill somewhere…? 🤣😒
I just bought this. Can I use any capsules I returned the vertuer. But the capsules was so expensive
So in order to get about 250 ml I will need to use 2 lungo capsules? I wonder if there's enough space for my 12oz cups..

I found the water tank is not practical when install and uninstall. It very difficult. Other than that I like it.
Thanks for sharing!
I found if you open the lid it detaches from the back of the machine!!!
@@jamesabar207Thank you James. Lifting the lid is the secret and secures the water tank easily.
How do you reattach the base plate after washing?
why so expensive?
Thank you.
You're welcome Ron!
Whats the difference between this breville machine and the normal nespresso pixie made machine?
None
Excellent review! Useful info, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
So does this make coffee or just espresso shots ? Is your cup of coffee an 8oz cup ?

The button on the right is for Lungo which is a larger cup of coffee and you are supposed to use the capsules labelled Lungo for that.

Mine is only watery?! I can’t figure out why!
Is this a new problem on an older machine, or has it been the case since you got the machine?
whao. magnificent.😍
Thank you! Cheers!
