Very helpful and informative video. I just heard about these treatment options as opposed to double jaw surgery. However I have an overbite so I’m really glad I found your video before trying to pursue this treatment. Thank you for sharing.
Do you feel like it would push your forehead back or rotate your jaw downward, as is? Since dr. Won moon that it loosens the para maxillary sutures and that facemask in bracing itself on the chin and forehead
Ronald, I think the force vector you are using, might actually clockwise rotate your maxilla since it is anchored to the posterior of the maxilla and is pulling it upward. What do you think?
Hi Ronald, big thanks for your videos. Been following along for some time now. Quick question for you, or anyone else that might be able to answer this. You mentioned that forward growth of the maxilla can potentially cause an overbite. Does the mandible not automatically come forward to align with maxilla? I’m currently trying to find someone in my area that offers MSE + fm to correct a narrow and underdeveloped maxilla plus recessed mandible; however my bite is currently pretty well aligned.
He posted imaging of his mandible during or after AGGA. The condyles looked ti be as far forward as they could be, perhaps pressing against the anterior wall of thr glenoid fossa. But you should double check this ad I may be mistaken
Thanks for the video. Really informative! I did not realise until watching your video that forward growth can be achieved through appliances. Im currently 22, is there an age limit, at what age does it become less effective or could you do it at any age?
Hey bro. Could I ask you a question? After digging about and asibg forums I have come to the Ci ckusikb that through mewing now (15) till I'm 25 (when results slow down) I will achieve full to very close to Fully forward grown. However I really would like to use MSE in my adult life to compensate for the 15 years lost 😂. So firstly I would ask do u agree about the full forward growth idea and then ny adulthood MSE to achieve forward growth and to fully reach genetic potential as an adult.
That’s not ideal. Why wait all the way till 25 to do MSE when you can do it at 18? Remember more tongue space better=better breathing and better mewing. Better mewing=more forward growth
If there was some other thing to press off of instead of the mandible it probably wouldn't cause headaches. I would say the chest, but when you move your neck that might be a problem. Otherwise you could wear a helmet I guess and mount it to that.
it would slow bone remodelling instead because it slows down the osteossts or some shit I can't seem to remember to provide the necessary scientific information. it thickens bone so it probably makes things take longer to move mate
Ronald Ead, do you happen to know how much facial upswing can be achieved using the facemask assuming it was used according to expected guidelines (as in the best case on average)?
we need to figure out the causes of a facial upswing, because everybody experiences different things. personally, palatal expansion for me did nearly all of the work in a maxillofacial upswing, I've realized that everything I was getting closer to resolving my class 2 division 2 malocclusion (deepbite) the more those particular days of mewing before the progress, I was focusing in forcing expansion of the palate (hard mewing pressing side teeth basically, which helps, but risks molar tipping).
@@borz55 Because mse+facemask won't move both your jawbones AS forward as a DJS. A DJS can slightly shorten your midface and the CCW rotation plus Genio/mentoplasty can make your face look much more shorter and harmonious. Main perk of DJS is the significant amount of forward growth you can achieve given you have the proper bone structure. The only CONS for DJS are the typical surgical risks such as nerve damage, infections, excess bleeding. Also a looong recovery time.
SP FromNY914 well yes for the mandible you would still need the BSSO and maybe genio as well depending on the case, and I agree if the midface needs to be shortened or needs to be rotated ccw a Lefort 1 would probably be better, but the advantage of mse+facemask over lefort 1 would be moving the whole midface forward (cheekbones, orbital rims) like a lefort 3, without the lefort 3 risks. lefort 1 will only move the lower maxilla forward.
yes however face mask is more effective after disrupting sutures with MSE. with MSE, a few months of consist face masking is demonstrated to produce significant results. nice to meet you Tomaazo i'm a big fan.

According to Dr Mike mew if the maxilla goes forward so does the lower jaw
