    I have finally upgraded the camera to the latest firmware. Everything is working great now. It's even opening with Alexa on my Fire TV and Echo Show - Whereas before, with the older firmware, it wouldn't open.

    Hello, thanks to your video my 6 Xiaomi outdoor cameras now work flawlessly. The cameras load very quickly and till today from the downgrade they haven't disconnected even once, before the downgrade it has happened several times in one day. I'm very satisfied with the result. Thank you very much.

    I can't believe this. All this time I thought the camera was faulty. Stopped recording at certain time. Frequently disconnected. I tried several SD cards with the same result. Then I found your video and downgraded firmware. Now never disconnects and always records. The camera was not faulty. The idiot software developers at Xiaomi was faulty. Thank you very very much.

      Buenas, siguen con el firmware "downgradeado" y con la camara funcionando bien?, yo me quedé con el penúltimo firmware (4.0.9_0112) y dejaron de conectarse 3 camaras del mismo modelo :(, voy a probar haciendo el downgrade.

    Thank you for the video. I had a big problem with recording and SD card, none of them were working. After changing to local server everything is working fine.

    bought this cam week ago and have 3 problems on it :
    1. can’t playback the videos if i set it to only record when motion detected (solved thanks to you 👍🏻)
    2. recorded videos was not shown on the all playback videos tables as red sign (solved by change iphone’s time to 24hr)
    3. it was only recording until 23.00 everyday and need to be rebooted to work again - how to solve this?

    My cameras recently upgraded to firmware 4.3.2_0193 and i noticed in the allways record mode they stopped recording in loop, if they get the sd card full they will simply stop recording. Any known solution?
    I have as well 2 older 1080p mi cameras, is there any alternative firmwares available for those?

      Yes it works fine now but the motion detection Recording playback from SD card still doesn't work. And NAS also is not supported yet. I hope for the feature soon.

      @@DSmartLife What is NAS? As for sd playback works perfect now if recording all day. Also, it's the first time I get proper notifications for human and motion detection in all hours. You don't get them too?

      @@Chris-uc9dt Yes I am getting the notifications. Its great. NAS is network Attached storage for storing the videos directly to a hard drive as I have shown here: ua-cam.com/video/n-D2LPkdnPA/v-deo.html. I feel NAS is needed as this is an outdoor camera and its not a permanent mount. Anyone can take the camera and the SD card with it. Thanks.

    man, you did the job that Xiaomi's customer service wasn't able to do! seriously, they just blamed the 4 SD cards that I tried and I was telling them to just downgrade the firmware.
    how can I donate?
    btw, from where did you get the firmware files? is there a way to extract it from the device?

      Yes, their support is very pathetic, I request firmwares and they never gave me. And they also didn't fix this camera problem till now. I got the firmwares from forums. No, I don't know any way to extract installed FW from ROMs. Thanks.

      Cara, está câmera é desanimadora. Tenho 2 câmeras da Xiaomi, uma é 360° e funciona perfeitamente, a outra é essa aí.
      Está de 180°, a prova d’água não funciona de jeito nenhum. Estamos no meio de janeiro de 2021 e nada da Xiaomi resolver. Não recomendo. Ela tem muitas funções ótimas, ângulo de visão, a prova d’água, mas infelizmente ela simplesmente não funciona

    After I changed my mobile phone Settings - System > Date & time > Time zone to China - Shanghai GMT+08 and set Mi Home App region to any country. Then the motion detected videos run smoothly.

      The drawback is that the timestamp will be China - Shanghai GMT+08 not my country but it work flawlessly.

      Thank you for the suggestion. I also tried it and its working. We have to figure out how to keep the Time zone separate for Mi Home App as we cannot use our phone at the Shangai Time zone. I will let you know if I find a solution. Thanks.

      @@DSmartLife How do you connect to China server? I am in US, I am using the US server. But after I changed the Mi Home App region to China, and tried to connect my xiaomi cam to the app, the camera can't be setup. While I tried to connect, the camera Chinese voice said something like "internet connection success", and the app connecting screen keeps loading for a while, and then it eventually said fail for the connection. I have no connection problem while I switch back to the US region. It seems like there are a blocking feature on the China server that preventing connection from oversea. Do you know why? I want to know how could you guys connect to the China server while your internet is out of China.

      @@wenzhankuang The connection to the Chinese server is the same as any other server. If it is failing then may be it's blocked at your location. However, the solution suggested above doesn't require you to connect to the Chinese server. You just need to change your phone's time zone to Chinese time Shanghai GMT +8, then you can play back the newly recorded videos in motion detection mode. You can't play old videos though. The solution is not optimal as we cannot have our phone's time to China time for daily usage, that's why I haven't posted it yet. Thanks.

      I tried this on EU region but it still doesn't work. I have set my mobile phone time to china +8 and in the camera the timezone also to +8. Still doesn't let me see motion recorded videos.
      Are you on EU region when you linked the camera?

      Recording works but with the new firmware camera looses connection and needs to gets reset manual. I suggest NOT to upgrade!

      Thiago você fez alguma coisa diferente?
      Eu tô tentando aqui, formato o cartão de memória, coloco o arquivo (só um deles vem dois no download) ligo com o botão de reset precisando mas não fica branca a luz e ele não volta para a versão anterior.
      Ele grava normal os vídeos só que não aplicativo não funciona.

      @@PHGM Fiz do jeito que ele explicou no vídeo e tbm não deu certo. Tentei bastante coisa e vi que precisa colocar os dois arquivos no cartão, pelo menos fiz desse jeito e nas minhas duas deram certo, tenta aí amigo

      @@PHGM coloca os dois arquivos que vai dar, porém a câmera tem que estar configurada já e aí vc formata o cartão coloca os dois arquivos sem a pasta, nada mais no cartão apaga todas as pastas e deixa os dois arquivos que vai ficar branca... E não faz igual ele ligando a câmera pelo micro USB não e muito difícil , assim que vc pressionar o botão reset dela vc vai e liga ela pela fonte bem fácil se não conseguir me chama ZAP 35991580070

      Hmm that's a new error I haven't seen it yet. Did you try connecting this camera to you local server instead of the Chinese server?

      @@Encosto_Digital I think this camera is now available in all International Servers except India. So select the nearest location, like Singapore if you are in India and see if it is working. Thanks.

      @@charleytapes6807 Ok. I will test once I get the Global Firmware. I hope we get the English Firmware soon. It will probably work fine. Actually the Chinese firmware also works fine if we set our Phone's Time zone to China GMT+8. But in another time zone, the motion recordings cannot be read from the Mi Home App. Thanks for your comments.

    Guys, the latest 4.0.9_0142 that it's supposed to fix "known issues" does not work either.
    So the only solution is to stick to the initial 4.0.5_0105 firmware

      Copy both files to the root of the SD. Try different DC adapter. I tried many times also.

      I hope so too. I figured out a new way to make the camera playback work in motion recording as well as always record modes. But it involves changing the phone Time zone to Chinese Time (GMT+8 Shanghai). I think if you change your phone's time zone then the playback works fine for new recordings, have to delete old ones. May be that's why the Xiaomi people in China didn't fix this issue coz it works for them. I have to figure out how to change the time zone only for this camera, not the phone. I will let you know. Thanks.

    I have this camera the global version. The main issue with my camera is that I have to reset the camera every time I reboot or disconnects the power cord. Already tried upgrading and downgrading the firmware and the still remains. Does it mean my camera has hardware defects?

    I have also issue for connecting to network after a short while. It prompts "Connecting" and spinning from %1 to %10. This happens over and over a few times. Then It prompts "Couldn't connect to network". Only solution is pulling and plug power cable a few time in day. Framework version is 4.0.9_0112 and region is Turkey. Router has 2.4ghz bandwidth capability. Beside of this there is also same playback issue for "Always" record type.

    Hello there. I have an English speaking global camera. How do I backup the version in the camera. How to get the firmware out? If I back up the version. I will format my chinese version camera and upload the english version.

      Yes, it would have been so great if we can extract the Global firmware and install it on our Chinese version. However it is not possible to extract the bin from the camera ROM. BTW can you check if all the features are working in the Global Version, like the Playback in Motion detection mode etc. ? Thanks.

      @@totalrecall2020 hi, yes I upgraded the firmware the normal way, I connected it to my wireless extender and upgraded that way, now it works no problems

      No, we cannot Playback the videos on the motion detection mode as I mentioned in the video. However the always record mode works well. Thanks.

    I tried several times, but indicator light never turn to white. It was yellow light all the time. I tried pressing it for 5 min but it keeps saying "reset completed", "waiting for connection". I opened Mi home app and it's still 112 version. Could you please tell me what I should do now?

      Please format your card in fat32 and then place the files given in my video description in the memory card. Some viewers say that it's better to use 32gb or less sized cards. But I didn't find any problem with my 64GB. Let me know. Thanks.

    Wish this supports their new model, which it's in 2K resolution than the regular 1080p model but it's only sold in China for now as it's currently only available in Mainland China server. The 1080p model is currently hard to find right now, both the Chinese version nor the Global one but the new version is already available.

      I've got the 2K (upgraded) model, I'm having a hard time connecting it to Mi Home App. The app cannot detect the camera and its QR code, the camera also cannot detect the QR code from Mi Home App. Such a pain

      @@jhe-p0t the only way to do is to change your current country server (EU, Southeast Asia or US) to Chinese Mainland in the app settings but all of your global Mi Home products won't appear on Mainland China server unless you change it back. Also, you can uninstall the regular Mi Home app and install the modded app, which you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/fWUXJylO-Ug/v-deo.html

      @@jhe-p0t I think if you're using a Xiaomi phone, you can use Dual apps to have another Mi Home app just for Mainland China only stuff.

      Thanks man! My device isn't Xiaomi so I had to download third-party cloning app. This workaround isn't that great though. I now have 3 apps instead of just 1 for the same function! damn frustrating (but at least it worked). I'm hoping software update could fix this issue (or possibly not)

    After I delete device, this mi home app no longer can detect the device at all :( it is written "bring device closer to the router". But the camera says it is connected to wifi and ready to use. But the app cannot detect the device. Pls help :'(

    Morning I was at work and around 8:36 am I open my mi home app at my phone and I check playback and exactly from 8:30am till 8:35am the playback was deleted and the face of camera was move to the upside like totally opposite from where it was.
    I don’t know me and my partner has that app and my partner is say that she didn’t touch it
    Now please can you tell me what’s the problem or can I recover the playback time 8:30am till 8:35am ?

    Hi DsmartLife. I have formatted SD card (FAT32) and copied bin file in it (there are two in your drive, I copied the one which name as shown in your video) and then resetted the camera. However the firmware is still not updated in firmware settings and it is still showing 112 instead of 105. What am I doing wrong here? Please help as it is getting really frustrating not been able to use the camera.

    Hi, thanks for the prompt update! So still dont upgrade the firmware huh, I will have to do the server migration next time as my other magnetic cam is way above high. I do have a prob though, this cam has suddenly stopped. No reason why. And I will only know if it’s still working once I climb up and get it. 🤦🏼‍♀️ any chance you’ve encountered the same? Also, my other imilab ec3, has aslo stopped the monitoring detection. It still records though, but no more monitoring alerts. Hope u could find out why. Thanks!

      Yes if your camera is working, do not upgrade. But if you migrate to any international server, then it will not ask for an upgrade. My 2 cameras are still working. I guess your camera needs a reset, its a big problem is its installed very high. Did you connect the EC3 to an international server? Check if it still has the cloud recordings in the Mi Home App. If its there then you may have to enable notifications in the Mi Home app and permit phone notifications in the mobile settings.     Always record mode is mess with new firmware keeps jumping to live footage and recorded footage.just awaful. Mi 360 camera. I'm playing the recorded video It keeps jumping from the recorded footage to live footage and not able to record using the record button when playing the recorded video as it keeps going in buffing mode or video stops

      @@ThanosGR The camera does work, however there are still some connection issues running through a WIFI extender, the memory card shows with errors as well, so the rolled back software is not the best either, but does work. I am hoping a new firmware is released to fix the multitude of issues.

    I can't connect the camera to the wifi network, I tried with different routers, different ssid with different passwords, with only letters and numbers without any special character, all at 2,4ghz band, I tried with the sharing wifi from mobile method, but nothing works, I set china mainland at the app, but kees saying (in chinese) trying to connect. I saw that at this point the camera generates an ssid isa-camera-hlc6_miap6dd1 but I don't know if I can do something with this, I tried to connect to this ssid and don't get dhcp ip...., but nothing more...

    Hello I have the camera from March 2021, until now (21/12/2021) it worked fine with the German server if you exclude the known problem that it should write to the SD only constantly and not when it gets moving, it is still with the original firmware I have not updated .. Two or three days now it is not connected. After I did a reset I could not make it work again and I found that it is not connected to the European server, when I tried the Chinese it worked as before. Anyone know about this new problem, I prefer the European server because I have other cameras there.

    Thanks for the video. I have downgraded and looks better now. Just one question. Why you show you are copying one file on the sd card and in the description you say copy both files. I have copied both files and it downgraded. Looks ok, just to know why there 2 files. Thanks
    Actually I would not buy this camera again in Chinese version, hope there will be an Global version which will work stable. I have also home 360 camera not Chinese version, works fantastic without any lags. But this one a real pain. I would add 10$ extra and get another 360.....

      For a few users, the upgrade didn't work without the signature file, hence I updated the firmware with two files. Originally, only one file is needed. Yes I am also waiting for the Global version, I am expecting to the the firmware soon as they have started selling the global version of this camera online. If I get the global firmware, I will share it. Thanks.

    Hello , alot of the times i have problem with loading the live feed . It gets stuck at 91% while loading . But if i got live feed the playback does work. And while dont have a live feed the weird part is i can play the motion detection clips and get notifications of detections.
    Does a downgrade software give solution? I also changed the server but no solution.
