Four years later to your post and it was still very helpful. I didn’t find the part anywhere in Mexico but following your advice I glued with epoxic and … problem solved!!! Thanks
Cheers. I snapped part of a sewing needle for mine, and used super glue and baking soda to instantly dry and make it extra strong. Works well cause the motor made the part clash with the bucket part and it survived it. I then adjusted everything correctly and it works perfect. Just remember to have overhangs because my first attempt I cut it too short and noticed that you need the overhangs as it slides into the little tip bucket to tilt it forward.
TYSM!!!! I used this video to diagnose and repair my Nespresso U (D50) made in Hungary. The biggest problem was figuring out what tool I needed to unscrew the 3 screws to open the housing. For those in the US I bought a Titan "tamper proof star key "set for $10 -a very worthwhile investment. The T-10 star shaped screwdriver with a central depression fit the tiny screws in my machine which may differ by manufacturer I did the same repair in the video using a thick piece of wire from jewelry making and gluing it as per the video. I later found the part on eBay for around 20 dollars but so far my repair has been working. I could not have done this without this video! Thank you again!
wow. Thank you for the video. I have a couple of broken nozzles. Can't find a good place to buy them again. Now that I found you video, I'm so happy I kept the old nozzles. I will fix and continue having great coffee again. Thanks Adrian!!!!
Thkx a lot Adrian, great repair café!! In my case the clips were not broken. Only the noozle was no more fixed. By the way, my model has a third screw located behind close to watertank which you need to unscrew to take over the cover. Torx are TORX BO TX 10 which a whole in the middle
Great video! An easier way to remove the nozzle is to run the machine and then pull the plug when the main part has moved to the back. Plug it back in when you have reinstalled the nozzle and it will move back into place.
Just fixed my sister-in-law's Nespresso XN250 using this method, thanks so much. A tip is to use a section of spare/broken stainless steel spoke from a bicycle wheel, so there are no potential issues with rust.
Hi friend, I’m Brazilian and I’d like to thank you for the video, I’m sure that the best explanation. My problem was solved and I’m so happy. Sorry for my poor english. Thanks for it, God bless you
Thanks for the video. When I got to the steam spout, it had failed in a different way - bottom clip had broken. But the instruction was still valid, and our machine is now working again. Luckily I got a spare from EBay for £6.
I am quite sure that the small plastic piece is designed and expected to get broken by the makers on purpose. Luckily our friend Adrian suggested a clever solution. My respects!! 👏👏👏👏You have a beer on me in Barcelona, mate.
Helpful! Followed the instructions and actually found out that the machine had pieces of plastic falling off as looked like melted.. probably been drinking this stuff 😢 mine is going in the bin but the video was helpful. Thanks
Hi Adrian...DAMN! You just fixed my machine! I ordered the nozzle and BAM it was fixed. You saved my life and 150 euro's for a new machine! Many, many thanks from The Netherlands!
VERY nice tutorial, Adrian! I just had to do the same repair to my U. Though I generally followed your guide, a did a few things differently. Mainly, I used a stainless steel nail cut to size (20 mm). I opted to use a stainless steel rod so that I didn't need to bother with corrosion in the long run. Second, to glue the nail/rod in place, I first carved a shallow groove on the plastic of the nozzle so that the rod would be more firmly positioned for the glue job. And I used cyanoacrylate glue (superglue) to fix the rod in place. However, normally superglue would have a hard time adhering metal (specially ss) to that kind of plastic (ABS?). So, to overcome this, I first roughed up a bit the surface of the plastic and also filed the nail, leaving small notches all over it's length, to increase the surface where the glue would act. And most important of all, I sprinkled baking soda over the area after appling the superglue. The result was an acrylic-like surface over the nail and the the surface of the nozzle, keeping the nail firmly in place. The end result was prettyy strong, to the point that I think that if I tried to prye out the nail, it would rip chunks off the blak plastic with it. Moreover, not counting the very strong bond, it cures in seconds, so right after cleaning the baking soda and washing/brushing everything up I could assemble the machine back together. Cyanoacrylate glue can easily handle the temperature of a Nespresso machine, and with the baking soda mixed in it's safe to use there.
Hello from Brazil! This is the best tutorial I have found! I faced same the same problem with my Nespresso machine. I glued the metal rod with super glue (CA glue) and sodium bicarbonate. It's working perfectly now. Thank you so much!
Thank You very much for this clear tutorial. I wanted to buy another machine cause I hadn't taken a coffee since one week ago. Finally you've let me save my machine!!
A good how-to video. But I'd rather see how the cables are detached, because I did it only once and now have no idea of how to remove it again - these sit way to firmly in its nests. BTW, a Torx is not needed here - use a flat screwdriver and put it so it grabs any two notches in the screw's head. Works perfectly for me.
Thank you so so much! That was really easy to follow. I managed to use a tiny flathead screwdriver (and pliers for leverage) as I didn’t have the right torx bit.
I got my machine off an auction site for $15 and I am determined to fix it. Matter of principle. Thank you for your excellent video. So far all going good !
Hello, Adrian! Greetings from Buenos Aires! We found your video some months ago while we were looking for tutorials on how to solve the exact same problem. It was a bit hard for me to get the necessary screwdrivers but after some weeks, I could get them and yesterday I opened my machine and followed your steps. I have just assembled the machine again and it is working perfectly! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thanks Adrian, you seem to be a very cool professional. Very nice video. I was worried that I'll have to spend huge amount on a new Nespresso and discard my existing beautiful Krups. You saved me man. Wish you well buddy, Manu
Hi Adrian Thanks for a great repair I unfortunately have a small part left over! I think it is a spring unit for the button and I cannot figure out how to replace it The small part has four tiny five mm springs
hi Adrian, Happy New Year 2024. So I'm working on a Nespresso Krups milk with the slide function and automatic capsule drop into the container underneath. Must say the more functions there are, the more things that may possibly go wrong. I was doing the one job that is now done, but when I reconnected the top part that has the 3 buttons for small, medium and large coffee, the lights had stopped working, the functions still work, but no lights. Wonder if you know what that is, maybe i short-circuited the green electronics panel housed under the buttons, I took that apart today, it all looks ok. I have another machine, almost the same model, maybe I'll take the little connector off that and see if it is that that is wrong, but as that machine is not6 mine, I may read up on it all tonight, see if I can find some info.
Great instructions which I followed exactly and replaced the nozzle. Even though some fluid comes through the nozzle, about half still empties into the back. What do I do now?
This one you fixed is the same unit as model C50 from Nespresso. There's a little detail in C50 : the cover has three bolts; two are the ones you removed and there's another in the back of the cover, right over the water recipient base.
thanks a lot Adrian! very clear explanations and videos. My XN250 is leaking water from the pump towards the capsule area. Do you have a tutorial for that too? Cheers
Adrian, do you know how to get the diffuser out for cleaning on this type of Nespresso? On the other machines where the user applies the force for perforating, I seen videos of people removing that entire unit. I get a sense mine is rather blocked. Tried cleaning it with a tooth brush but to no avail.
This was a great video, and I followed all the steps. It fixed only part of the problem for me though, now I've got the water coming out of the spout and water leaking in the dripping container. Any advice?
În this case you need to. Hange also the oring. All Nespresso machines have this big oring in the same plece. If you want to see where this oring is located try reaching for the video on my channel.
Hi Adrian. Great videos! I have a U D50 very similar to this grey one. I repaired the nozzle in the past but now I have a clogged diffuser grid plate. I can't find a way to remove it for cleanup or a video showing how to remove for my model. I would really appreciate if you could show hot it's done. Thanks!
Hi Adrian, I was able to figure it out. There are two small tabs holding it in place--they are hard to see, at about 10 and 2 in a clock dial and reachable from the hole on top (where capsules go). I cleaned it but when I test it, a lot of water falls from behind the spout, directly into the used capsules bin. Should there be a seal theat seats against it when brewing?--I do not see any. If so, do you know the part #?
Hi thanks for the video. It's really clear. I have previously replaced the nozzle on my xn250 machine ( the same as in the video) water is leaking again through the chamber but this time the nozzle is not broken. I think from watching another video I may need to clean the diffuser plate but can't work out how to remove. Any bids you can point me to? Or would just a descaling fluid work? Many thanks
Clean the entire area at front, you can use a toothbrush and repeatedly rinse the toothbrush, if there is coffee debris/thickened coffee that is hard to get to with a toothbrush, you can use those ear cleaning cotton buds on a stick and also a small screwdriver to carefully scrape away thickened coffee waste taking care to do these things gently so without scratching. If you have removed the front covers you can also dip that end of the machine in a ''shallow'' pool of warm water, taking care obviously not to let any water get to the other side where the electronics are located. In the water, you can add anti limescale liquid. Adrian shows in another video clip how to remove the diffuser disk, but it is not very easy, a little bit too much force and it can break, so I would say just take some time to give the front section a really good clean the back of the disk too, there where you can see all of the little holes in the disk through which the coffee is forced under pressure. It is possible to use a small needle, very carefully without forcing the needle or letting it be bent (it will break if you do that) and then push the needle through each hole to ensure that each hole (about 30) is open. However, if you submerge the front end in a small bowl and hold the machine in place so the water does not get to the electrical parts, then cleaning the disk and repeatedly running any limescale through the machine will open the holes. If the holes are blocked and the rubbish blocking the way has hardened, then soaking will make it possible to force the holes open simply by using the machine to run anti limescale through the disk. Dry everything with kitchen paper and ear-cleaning cotton bud sticks.
Hi, I have a nespresso U, leak water into drip tray from behind capsule. I opened up, the part in this video is not broken and I took the round plate out and no clogged. Do you think that is something wrong with the pump? Do you have a video to tear the whole thing down?😅 thank you
Hi Adrian your clip this time was well-filmed, you took care to get the parts you worked on, clearly into view from all sides. The rod you used, what is the width? I have a thin coat hanger, the metal part, but I think it is too thick. Cheers.
@@benassy69 Managed it, used a stainless steel nail, was able to cut it to size with a pair of pliers instead of sawing, also used 2-component glue, and sprayed the new p[art too , as you did, with acrylic paint. Works perfectly again. Thanks.
Four years later to your post and it was still very helpful. I didn’t find the part anywhere in Mexico but following your advice I glued with epoxic and … problem solved!!! Thanks
Not only the best video on this problem that I have found on the Internet, but Adrian also provides a DIY fix for those inclined. WELL DONE!

Following your tutorial I’ve fixed my Nespresso! Thank you!
I am glad it was helpful!
wow. Thank you for the video. I have a couple of broken nozzles. Can't find a good place to buy them again. Now that I found you video, I'm so happy I kept the old nozzles. I will fix and continue having great coffee again. Thanks Adrian!!!!
First class tutorial. I made my metal pin from a cut down sewing needle and my coffee machine is now working perfectly again. Thank you so much.
Thkx a lot Adrian, great repair café!! In my case the clips were not broken. Only the noozle was no more fixed. By the way, my model has a third screw located behind close to watertank which you need to unscrew to take over the cover. Torx are TORX BO TX 10 which a whole in the middle
Same as mine, the lower clip was broken. So I don't see what's wrong on the noozle from the tutorial, it looks like mine (without the metal pin) ?
Great video! An easier way to remove the nozzle is to run the machine and then pull the plug when the main part has moved to the back. Plug it back in when you have reinstalled the nozzle and it will move back into place.
This was the method I used. Didn’t need to take the case off, no Torx screwdriver required.
Super video that helped me to fix my nespresso UMilk. Instead of fixing it with a small metal rod like you I just bought a new nozzle for small money.
Great! This is what I also recommended. I only repaired with the rod since I could not find the spare part in my country.
Just fixed my sister-in-law's Nespresso XN250 using this method, thanks so much. A tip is to use a section of spare/broken stainless steel spoke from a bicycle wheel, so there are no potential issues with rust.

It worked, thanks for the tip!

Thank you very much! From Brazil!

It worked like a charm !! Thank you !
Awesome! Great video. Thank you so much for your help. I have fixed my machine saving a lot of money and time
it's crazy but it's still usefull :D i did the exact same fix and it works like a charm. thanks.
Thanks mate, your video helped me fix this problem in my machine. Keep up the great stuff!
Merci beaucoup
Clair et très sympa

Great video!! What kind of epoxy glue did you use for this? Will it wear down with the heat of the water from the machine over time?
Thanks. Another machine saved from landfill

Excellent video thank you👌
It's strange that too many people have the same issue with this model, it seems that it was done purposely by nespresso!
I think it is only a fault in the initial design.
