Thank you for addressing big toe inflexibility!!!!! I NEVER see this as a factor in "how to get a higher releve" videos and it is the thing I have struggled with my whole life. I'm going to add the bottom-of-foot massage to my warm-up. (I already do the front of my shin and it really does make a difference.) *fingers crossed*
This is fantastic! I'm not a dancer, but part of the reason I follow The Pointe Shop is that there's a lot of overlap between the ankle strength and flexibility concerns dancers have and the ones I have after falling off a ladder and getting ankle surgery. The muscles that give Josephine trouble are the same ones that give me trouble (though I have much more range limitation in flexion than in pointing). I've had a little bit of luck with cupping, btw.
THANK YOU! This was so helpful for me as a returning adult dancer with low, tight arches. I want to get back on pointe and I really feel these exercises will help!❤❤❤
Excellent. It’s just as hard finding good treatment for musician injuries. So nice to see positive things happening.
That tiny clamshell is a revelation!
Right!? The cues given made me feel it in a completely different way, and I can definitely see this modification helping my hips significantly.
So insightful! I'm so glad for this video. Can we have more videos like this, please?!
This is applicable to people who want to have good stability with age! 👍
This is great!! I'm not a ballet dancer, but so so much of this is transferable to the dance and floor elements of pole dancing!
I have scar tissue right over the muscle under my big toe and I’ve been rolling my foot on a lacrosse ball. I was born with this issue and never had balance and stability in my ankle. 43 years and finally it’s breaking free. It’s taken 2 years and I asked god for a sign to keep going and this video came into my feed ❤
1:57 Josephine,your face is speaking 😅😅😅❤️❤️❤️
LOVE JULIE
This so soooo amazing. It immediately reduced my Demi pointe pain!
Holy crappoli. I did these with you and my toe was able to go straight. Otherwise I cant. It stays in Demi. Not a dancer. Just following and being inspired. Will be taking ballet after I recover from knee surgery. 57 yrs old. Yeeeeee. Not scared. Prolly should be though.
I love this channel! Thank you!💜
makes me want a dancer massage! like a specialist for ballet dancers that knows exactly the spots that'll help most to massage.
That sounds like an excellent business opportunity
The funny thing is yes the advice is for Ballet but I can see how it would benefit a range of other activities.
This was a great video, thanks for sharing!! ❤️
Question : at the 2:08 minute you mention this area (medial ankle) could be tender. What are reasons this would be tender? My L achilles has been hurting when I pointe & when I followed the exercises in this video, the pain improved & I found the inner ankle was really tender, slightly swollen compared to my R. I of course will discuss with my physiatrist but happy to hear your feedback
Thank you so much for this!!! Practical advice is such a wonderful change😅
Wow, thank you so much ♥️👍
V v intetesting. Could you do a video on relives when one has moderate arthritis in one big toe?? But other foot is ok! ( old age..old injury..broken toe)
𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐦 😌
