Thanks again! And as two experienced DF players we totally did not spend 5 minutes trying to figure out how to open the stocks menu and then edit it out 😂

WAIT you're the one behind archcrystal?? Oh god, I really need to tell you something.
Last year I started reading 100 years of solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The book was written in the late 60's, and somehow it has a BUNCH of stuff that weirdly has parallels to archcrystal.
Thats pretty much it. It's a very specific observation, I just wanted you to know about it and maybe recommend the book if you haven't read it. It's very good.

@@blipboigilgamesh7865 I have read 100 Years of Solitude! Probably about 20 years ago and I was young maybe about 20 years old so it kinda went over my head at the time. But yeah because Archcrystal had to be a generational story I remember writing certain chapters and thinking that the structure was similar. It also gave me some relief because I figured if that structure worked in another story, that it could hopefully work in this one as well. Cool that you saw that connection!

I had some ideas for ice traps, with fortifications and 2x2 exposed corridors.
Hearing Sethatos is making a fort on ice makes me hype.

Do you have any tips on how to have more fun with DF? I feel like I've hit a dead end after breaching into the circus because that was the big thing everyone's all hush hush about, and now that I know what it is, it feels like I don't have any big discoveries left.

Build cool stuff, then build dumb stuff. Or do some stupid challenge like, lock 7 peasants into a self sufficient vault and see how long it can last before you need to crack it open, or just copy real world architecture. Ziggurat of Ur be beautiful.
