@@zedhiro6131any recommendations? I find easy to find goofy ones (and I love them!) but finding some more serious vibes orks would be great, so I could use it in SotDL, Pathfinder and the like.
Red ones do indeed go inherently faster, there was a rule in the old editions where you could paint your trukks red and they’d get extra inches in the movement phase. Orks do bend reality around themselves, but it’s a pretty subtle bending.
It was only an extra inch, if memory serves, and it did cost some extra points, but it was amazing for trukks fulla Boyz or looted vehicles with lottza dakka. I once ran over both my boss and my friends space marine captain when my looted vehicles with red paint rolled to press "da big button", or the "dont press dat!!! WAAAGGGHHH!!!" rule on a movement turn and it was amazing
Yup, they are all a bit in contact with the warp and can direct their thoughts to it, which in turn can make it reality. Now normally, they wouldn’t really be able to do anything but if you have 1000+ orks all thinking something should work when it really shoudnt at all, then it will, cause the orks are pretty much willing it in existence. Also why no other races can use ork guns/machinery, cause it just wouldn’t work.
You run Bad Moons lists because you think rolling dice is fun. I run Bad Moons lists because I think psychological warfare is fun. We are not the same.
One funny thing about orks: they don't grow hairs naturaly. If they want they use a breed of squig that basicly a pincer and a lock of hair they hook on their skin and groom like it was hairs. Snakes bites are notorably enjoying decorate their face with big amount of them.
It's a status symbol too, the more important you are the more hair squigs you have, that's why the old Ghazkull model has 3 ponytails on his head, because he's super duper important
There was a relic in 9th (dunno if its still in 10th) called "Wazdakka's Red Paint" which gave a vehicle +2" to their movement. If Orks paint something red will it go faster. The power of belief/faith is legit in 40k.
I once heard of a dude who played snake bites with a bunch of big guns who's in universe justification for it was that a mech boy among was so dedicated to their way that he ended making shooters with no moving parts once so ever that was the most advanced guns known to orks cause they effectively rail guns you fed bullets through funnel on the top, it didn't even have trigger, just shot till they were empty
I always loved the Blood axes just for the fact their warbosses try to dress up like imperial guard commissar's even if the hat is smaller then their head they will try to some how make it fit.
You can get a resin printer cheaper than a 2k point ork army If I ever decide to do a guardsman army I'm gonna buy a printer instead , that way I can also print buildings and such
Clans have barely been a thing since 3rd Edition. Clan specifics in the early days gave the Orks different bonuses. Now a days an Ork is an Ork and the Clans are just paint jobs. Used to be a pocket Money hobby, but now you need to have an above average in come to be able to afford the basics.
So the reasoning behind the whole “willing things into existence” is that all orks are able to express their thoughts into the warp a little, which normally wouldn’t cause anything to happen but if you have thousands of orks all thinking something should behave a certain way, then they are all expressing their thoughts into the warp, therefore reflecting it into reality. This is also why no one other than the orks can use their own weapons/machinery, cause it just wouldn’t work without the orks thinking it should.

modern warhammer can't hold a candle to the original ideas and humor of the old stuff. 1st and 2nd edition were snap shots of UK culture at the time, so much of what the designers saw on TV they would work in to the game, what was going on in our zeitgeist etc and so much metal was played at while having a session XD....and them came the dark days of turning the imperium in to catholics in space to make it sell to america, and it has followed that route ever since right in to the dirt, to the point no one can barely afford even a tactical squad now. Sad....
I was there. I was there when GW started to replace metal with plastic and promised this would increase quality and lower prices. And then the price of a plastic Space Marine Captain or Ork Warboss climbed over $20. The more things change, the more things stay the same. 'ere we go ladz.

Ork superstition directly affects reality through the gestalt psychic footprint they all have, such as making red ones go fasta, but it's almost certain those superstitions originated from a point in history where for one reason or another, speed and red became associated. They know camouflage works for stealth so forest camo still helps in concrete jungles. Probably blue is lucky because way back when, something capable of bending reality in their favour was blue or something like that
Fell in love with Dethskullz ever since I started in 3rd and saw that you could field a looted tank. I as an adult man who owns a house with no kids and a pretty good technical job cannot afford to buy new models unless they are used out of the box or broken in some way and need to be fixed. Times are rough out here by boys
I like the idea of Bad Moons and Deffskulls creating their own economic loop: the Deffskulls loot something, sell it to the Bad Moons, the Bad Moons bolt on all sorts of armor, shootaz, and other gubbinz, and then the Deffskulls steal it back, strip it for parts, and then sell the parts back to the Bad Moons again. Or in a microcosm, Bad Moon mekboyz attaching things to a looted vehicle as it heads into battle, while on the other side of the vehicle, the Deffskulls are stripping it for parts. And nobody's noticed the unit of Blood Axe Kommandos who snuck into the troop compartment.

I Loved my Cult of Speed Evil Sunz Army with all the Boyz being mounted on Vehicles, mostly Trucks. But GW kept changing the Rules and Raising their Prices, until I eventually got sick of it, and Gave up.

And removing it from the orks really takes away a lot.
I just recently got my first army. It was an Ork combat patrol. I don’t know much but my strategy has been pretty simple. Run up and hit the guy, maybe shoot first if I can. I’ve played 4 matches against my buddy, nothing official as we both are slowly learning and break all kinds of rules. My Boyz are 3 and 1 against him, I’m so proud. Destroyed his Tau so he switched to Necrons and I one that first match but lost the second and won the third. That last last match was the most rule accurate we think. I won but all my guys died. Sticky came in clutch.
From my understanding, blood axes were meant to be the best leaders, deathskulls the best scientists/docs etc, bad moons the merchants, goffs the enforcers/shock troops etc. Iirc in 3rd or 4th edition was the snakebite motto "live off da land, go find war, kill wat comes close, old wayz is best". And ofc freebooters - dawn of war retribution, playing as kaptn bluddflagg and his band of orks, THE funnest funniest and best quotes of all the campaigns, ah, fun times.
I used these videos as a background to which to clean my house. If it's time to clean the house and you don't have a video out, I might just not clean my house.
I love the Blood Axe’s, since out of all the clans they’re the ones that breaks the norm on how an Ork should behave and they come up with some interesting cunning tactics out of all the clans.🐱
12:12 I not sure your assessment of this is correct. In Gazhgkull Thrakka’s book they mention that “His (thrakka’s) bike shouldn’t have kept up, it wasn’t even painted red” when he was in the race against the first ork warboss.
I like em. Debating making my 2nd army being a xenos race and ork was a possibility. Had my own mob idea for them: Da Risin Dakka Mob lead by Da Sho-Grot... a Grot mocked up as a Shogun. Japanese themed orks. My buddy made orks his 1st army.
I remember the days when a Leman Russ tank was £18 and a unit of Guardsmen was £15. What a time to be in the hobby and if I had the money back then, I would easily of had a 2500pt DA chapter force. Seriously, GW cannot claim, with the insane amount they are raking in that all their development, material and running costs are high enough to justify the costs now compared to costs back in the day, even if they have more staff and store fronts now, needing a bank loan to complete an army is ridiculous and with 3D printing becoming more availible, it won't be long until they are in serious trouble...especially if they keep bowing to certain elements so we get stupid additions like "there have always been female Custodes." when I decide to do my Eldar force, I am already eyeing up some of the proxys on a certain site beginning with E.
The increase in cost and cost associated barrier to entry and "kidification" of the hobby are becoming pretty common across many hobbies. DND, skateboarding, Warhammer, music, and gaming all readily come to mind. As people have less children it lowers the prospective consumer pool, this incentivizes companies to raise prices to maintain profit margins- additionally the majority of these companies existing consumer base is adult single men with disposable income- meaning that they can charge more then they previously would have because now that cost doesn't have to be justified to parents. The "kidification" happens for the same reason as the politicization and political pandering because everyone is competing for a smaller and smaller consumer pool that has less and less access to disposable capital, while simultaneously being increasingly expected by society to pay fair wages to their employees, and generate profits for the shareholders.
In light of recent orky developments (and my own indecisiveness keeping me in War Horde anyway), I have now realised my true potential and will be trampling through waves of enemies with my 9 squig-strong unit of squighog riders and their big boss with a stratagem now technically *better* than tank shock afforded to them.
See the titan and custodian models pricing for the crime.
Deathskullz the theivin', shooty, speedy Gitz
Love your style. Keep it up!!!
Every episode needs an entire section for small rants
Honestly, so glad I got my ork army a decade ago.
I was hoping for one more shoehorned pizza time rant at the very end 😂
I love the Blood Axe’s, since out of all the clans they’re the ones that breaks the norm on how an Ork should behave and they come up with some interesting cunning tactics out of all the clans.🐱
Meanwhile I yearn for Stormboyz of Khorne rules... no need for models, I kitbash them myself.
Thank you for all the Ork stuff!
Do a video on SILVER SKULLS, yesssss! Yessss.
In a Market belonging to the Black Legion I found the good Kaptain.
The flashgits kit is an amazing kit
So you’re saying when a Ork needs some spare teeth they just got to punch the teeth out of a Black Moon? Damn but it fits
I love mushrooms.
I also love Red Scorpions, so I would like to submit my thirteenth request for a video about them.
Dunno if I was a contributing factor to this being made, but thank you for making this!
I remember the days when a Leman Russ tank was £18 and a unit of Guardsmen was £15. What a time to be in the hobby and if I had the money back then, I would easily of had a 2500pt DA chapter force.
Seriously, GW cannot claim, with the insane amount they are raking in that all their development, material and running costs are high enough to justify the costs now compared to costs back in the day, even if they have more staff and store fronts now, needing a bank loan to complete an army is ridiculous and with 3D printing becoming more availible, it won't be long until they are in serious trouble...especially if they keep bowing to certain elements so we get stupid additions like "there have always been female Custodes."
when I decide to do my Eldar force, I am already eyeing up some of the proxys on a certain site beginning with E.
Me laughing as I sit here with my WHFB books playing with token cardboard Units 😂
Are you Arthur, Mr.Bones?? ARE YOU!?
