      Except it's NOT the truth. The truth is that each American state is a sovereign nation by original intent, while the Union among them was only one _agency_,, while the principal nationality belonged to the People of the individual state-- i.e. by law, each state is a separate sovereign nation, and its _People_ the ruling sovereigns; meanwhile the USA was just like the EU, and secession by the CSA was just like Brexit by the UK.
      Get it?

      I agree Tom, the only thing that looks odd in what you wrote, is that a nation is A People, not a country (geographical) for instance the Japanese people, the Swedish people, the Southern people, etc are all peoples. Where as Florida, California, Texas, New Hampshire, etc. are countries. In that a country is a body of land. For instance the CSA as you mentioned was a Confederacy comprised of 13 or 11 sovereign countries of a similar people (The Southern People).

    I know I’m commenting on a six year old video. I’ve seen many presentations by Jeff Diest over the years and I’ve liked all of them, but this one stands out as my #1 favorite. It is both motivational and inspiring yet practical and hopeful by presenting specific, realistic, actionable ways we can all achieve greater freedom. Bravo, Jeff! 👍🏻👏🏻

      Taxes are lower. You are not forced to have your children in school. You can own guns more easier. The state is more decentralized. They are not part of EU. They haven't participated in any worse for a very long time.
      Language might be the only problem or at least the biggest :P

    An Excellent playlist of Mises Institute speeches, by some of the most intellectual minds in the modern "liberty movement". Nullification without the means and desire to back it up is just a half-baked solution that always ends us back into the same place that we started in.

    My UA-cam channel "Divide and Diversify" play list is all about secession. My idea is to have a web site, like one of those dating sites where you can fill out your political profile and then find like minded others to start to built your own nation based on common ideology. We should be divided along ideological lines.

    In my opinion jury nullification should be a very important element in the secession movement along with barter and alternative mediums of exchange.

    • @ronpaulrevered
      @ronpaulrevered 9 років тому

      +Ed Waggoner Sr. (Papatch) Competitive currencies like bitcoin are a viable option for seceding from dollars or any other fiat currency. Barter or direct exchange is too inefficient for any society.

      RonPaul Revered I too am a Bitcoin fan, but more for the protocol than the use of Bitcoin as money. I see the Bitcoin protocol tied to gold and or silver as a winning combination. I not sure I want "money" to be purely virtual. One thing I am sure we agree on is this: get the government out of money and let the market decide.

    @12:37 -- Calling Waco "a tiny group of freaks" seems to be defeating our own purpose. Like he said earlier in his talk, secession starts at the individual level and then moves out from there. Pointing to such a movement and labeling it "a group of freaks" is exactly what the Feds did.

    I suggest the implementation of The Right of Self Determination as mentioned in The Law of Nations as the correct method for this task. It is how the founders did it, formerly called the right of exile. Secession will not work, as there is no constitution and never was, sad as that may sound. What we have is a bank pretending to be a government pretending to offer government services folks. Nothing is what it seems. Promise.

    I suspect the militarization of the police and the millions of rounds of Ammo purchased by Homeland Security is not for your benefit it is your intention to change anything.
    I suspect many US Citizens are leaving the USA (officially and unofficially). They aren't going to "waste" their time trying to salvage the USS Titanic. The ship (Titanic) was dead as soon as it hit the iceberg and our system is just as dead. History will eventually pinpoint the iceberg moment.
    The Beauty of the US Constitution is that it establishes a VERY Limited Federal/Central government with anything not specifically listed (duties of the Federal branches) to fall under the sphere of influence of the State or the Individual, which gives the average citizen much more influence and control over what happens in their State or Town.
    In 1913, the beginning of the end...The Federal Income Tax was implemented the same year we were given the Federal Reserve.
    Wouldn't it be great if you were able to set up a 6% annuity for you and your future generations on Trillions of dollars in perpetuity?
    Andrew Jackson (7th US President) recognized that the banksters were evil - bankers have stated several times over history that they would destroy civilization rather than let go of their control over it. (They tried to assassinate Jackson as a result)
    People haven't changed over the years. We all have similar motivations and desires. Do NOT doubt the evil that runs the world today. Eventually you will have to make a choice...acquiesce or resist...but most people today are running, looking for a way to bide their time hoping this blows over...while these few who control everything consolidate their power
    Money is not evil, but as the Bible states "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
    Judas Iscariot sold out Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of silver. Our politicians are just as bad or worse when they sold out America for their pound of flesh.
    Peace!

    Or go Galt. There are many ways to minimize the one's cross-section to the trajectory of government. It would be great to have many more ways as more and more people embrace the principle of a highly limited government made legitimate only to the extent that its only function is to protect our many and broad individual rights.

  • @SovereignStatesman
    @SovereignStatesman 8 років тому

    He's totally wrong. Secession provides a mechanism for RECOURSE, without which the People are bound unconditionally to obey federal dictates; and it was by secession from the Confederated USA that the Constitution was established among the states-- and by secession it was to be ENFORCED, with the People of each state seceding from the Union at the last resort.
    HOW HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND?
