Dear mises PLEASE DO MORE TALKS AND EVENTS LIKE THIS ! Its much better to talk about solutions and strategies that the lay person can implement etc than just the problem only. Understanding the problem encourages one to demand the solution and there is not enough on this - well done for heading in this direction KEEP GOING!

"What Must Be Done". Was that meant as a kind of mocking hommage to Lenin's "What Is to Be Done"?

I would say peaceful parenting is in the hearts and minds category. It just starts very early and avoids the authoritarian upbringing we all struggle with in our adolescent and adult lives. Otherwise, I agree that it is very important.

Molyneux has been underestimated by most of the libertarian elites for some time now...

I do not think that ridicule of democracy is "enough". It needs to be explained why democracy may not be better than monarchy and how it retains some of the bad properties of monarchy and how itself introduces bad properties and why it is unethical to discriminate against individual rights even if its decided by majority rule.

+Moragauth When "normal" people hear you talk about the cons of democracy they will think you are for dictatorship, so I think we need to be careful

I agree. Democracy is terrible. It leads to arbitrary violations of individual rights. I'm sick of it. There is no consistency.

I also think its a negative to try to emulate the notion of vanguardism, or atleast the vanguard should not be inside the political system.

The U S is NOT a direct democracy, it is a representative republic. The problem is the natural inclination of pols to increase the number of unqualifed rent seeking voters. To restate, too many people get to vote. Allowing moronic 18 year olds that know nothing but 13 years of "free" gov. ed and fun sports and activities, free books, sometimes free food, free computers, people who live off government for their jobs and contracts. It is conflicted interest. People in private sector that earn money own property and pay taxes can vote. The higher their taxes the bigger the vote. Hoppe went over all this. It makes sense but can you imagine the left and the conservatives screaming how immoral and totalitarian you are..and the gov. ed americans would agree.
