Hey for those who want to print this out i copied his transcript to copy and paste I hope you don`t mind so i have it in my book now. Perfect set up. I'm going to show you how just 2 Supernovas the LS 400 and the WS 400. LS 400 Paint Gun for sealer or clear Alright let's just get started alright guys first this is the one I use for paint this is a LS 400 it has a 1.3 needle nozzle combination and the way I adjusted it. Leave the air inlet wide open wide open because I use a regulator to control the air. Now for the trigger which is the fluid adjustment. I press this trigger all the way. The screw is opened all the way it's almost falling off I start closing it until the needle or the trigger starts moving a little bit as soon as I feel it moving I stop so it's a wide open. For the fan the fan I close it all the way up then I open it 2 turns and that's where I leave it and that is a perfect setting. For the paint the patterns going to be wide it's going to be nice and it's going to be consistent and even. Now for the air inlet I use a regulator for the paint. I’m going to use 29 to 30 psi that's for the paint and then I can use it for the sealer also and you can also use it for Clear. Alright now for the WS 400 Clear gun This is the clear gun remember the bottom one leave it wide open. don't move it leave it wide open. Now for the fluid I do the same thing the same thing I open it up all the way pull the trigger close it until the needle hits the trigger once I feel it moving, I stop. So, it's going to be wide open now. For the fan close it all the way up I open it one turn two turns and just a pinch more like not even a just a little bit more. I don't know if you can see it right there that that was two turns just a little bit more and that's going to be set up for the clear. Now on the regulator I usually go 35 psi for clear only not for the not for the paint. For the clear I go 35 psi I'm ready to shoot. It'll give shoot clear as smooth as it can be and I won't have any orange peel so that's the perfect setting for this and that's it guys that's how I set up these two guns I hope you guys learn something as to how to set up the supernovas they're real hard to set up I've messed with a bunch of little tweaks and turns and that's the perfect setting that I found out that works for me and hopefully it'll work for you.

Got the LS400, gonna try that setup, i sprayed base at 27 psi and fluid out 2.75 turns and i didnt like the outcome, looked like uneven spray pattern... also did clear, same setting at 31psa and came out pretty nice..... thanks for the info.....

1st time i used the gun it was a water hose runs every where. Did you reduce wth activator ? by how much. Also my settings were ,Bottom wide open/fan wide open and 3.5 out from closed fort he fluid.29 psi
I’m interested in the LS400 for base, I have a 60 gallon Quincy 2 stage 5hp 15.2 scfm @ 175 Idk what cfm at lower psi it’s not on the compressor and can’t find it even at Quincy Will my compressor be capable to keep up with the LS400 HVLP I keep hearing they’re air hogs I want to get your opinion before I get it. I have an Iwata Entech Supernova LS400 1.4 and wondered if you ever used that gun to clear coat? If not, how do you think it work for clear coating? I have been using my old W400 for clear coating for years and prices when up so major overspray is a waste of money nowadays. Love the channel and can't wait for a sticker to put on my tool box!👍
The LS was made specific for clear coating. They have other caps avail for shooting metallics, base coats but now it looks like they have the Entech / green knobs gold cap for shooting base coats. I will have to look in the parts breakout if they have similar-same caps for fine tuning but all the body guys here swear its the best gun to shoot clears using the high $$ stand ox clear coat. The first time I used it I was sold. I have used it to shoot both with no issues.

At 35psi, fluid wide open, and fan turned out 2 and a Lil bit do you go thru a whole bunch of product? I set up my iwata to this, and I went thru 2qts of clear on some panels that should've NEVER used that much! What am I doing wrong?
Hi just watching this video I got the LS 400 base coat gun 1.3 and the W S400 1.4 HD can I use this for 2k paint as well as clear don’t really want to mix the guns but as long as it’s cleaned properly should be okay? Thanks Liam

@@PHARRAWAY I painted a very small amount of my bumper with a cheap touch up gun 0.8 fluid tip and it came out dry rough looking I have since sold them going to get a ANI 160 Q MINI GUN I should have used my devibliss GTI PRO LiTE with 1 2 fluid tip and high flow hose and clear coat my new devibliss SRI PRO LITE THE GOLD ONE WITH THE TE 20 AIR CAP FOR THE CLEAR

30 psi and 35 for clear that's a bit high I've used them try about 22 for base and 25 for clear

LS should be at 26 PSI. it's 1.8psi or even better a little less. 30psi for the base it's a lot and the paint will be dry

Why does it look like your regulator has a quick coupler on top where it connects to gun as opposed to screwing it on?
