    Cheers Tony! Superb video mate...You've managed to cover everything and have answered all the questions I needed answering in a totally unbiased and very in depth way. I think all gun videos should follow this benchmark overview of performance through to the proper manufacturers settings. I'm definitely having one of these now. Thanks again!!

    I just got the LS400 a few months back and it is an by absolutely amazing gun. I love iwata. I also just ordered the ws400. I’ve shot with it before but don’t have my own. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. The feel of those guns in your hand is just great.

    Great vids Tony! Been no end of a help to me so thanks for your efforts on this! Just got a question to put out to all... I'm planning go for picking up an Iwata WS400 Base 1.4 (not HD or OBS as I'm aware) used for £160, am I doing the right thing? Is it on par with the LS400? Appreciate your advice to a newbie! :-D

    Hello yony.
    What would be the price of the two gun ( base and clear)? I thought about buying the lph 400 and the supernova , this way it may be cheaper don't you think?

    Older video mate I know, just wanted to say something nice. I'm in the US and been painting for 8 years now, and at times I feel crestfallen with the trade. I've recently been watching youtube videos of other sprayers (something I probably should have been doing a while ago) and it has helped me reaffirm myself that I love what I do. Thanks for the vids.

    Nice vid tony! I’ve had my entech for about 3 years now spraying standoblue and I do love it. You make a really good point about the flash off times being minimal! I am curious what you use for a wet on wet gun. I’m currently using sata 2000 but am ready to upgrade. Please make a vid on wet on wet

    • @TonysRefinishingTV

      Hi , I rarely use wet on wet tbh usually if I do it’s just where the lads have rubbed through on prep and then I use my sata 3000b mini gun as it lays it down really fine , larger bits say when I do candy ect then il use my bellairia tbh it lays it really smooth and nice

    Great video, looks like you take a lot of pride in your work. I'm after a respray for my car but all the places I go to don't fill me with confidence. After a really high end finish but seem to get fobed off with things like, 'there's no need to remove the lights' 'the paint we use you don't need a clear coat' (even though I want one) and so on. Any advice you could pass on, (I'm from South Wales UK.) On where and how I could source out a high quality paint job.

    @chrisfreemesser5707 6 років тому

    Possibly stupid noob question if you don't mind me asking. On the areas you painted it looks like there were some areas of body filler applied and possibly(?) primed light gray. I've always been under the impression that when painting something, priming the entire area the same uniform color was needed to achieve a good uniform appearance with the topcoat. My knowledge is based on DIY painting of household things though. Is there a reason why this car didn't get a uniform primer coat first, or is doing this really not necessary when painting cars?

    • @AshParry123
      @AshParry123 6 років тому

      As long as you make sure you have coverage you don’t need to prime entire sections. It also saves money, time and materials. If you give the primed areas a coat first it saves giving the entire panel(s) that first coat as well 👍

    A comparison between the LS400 and the Sata 5000/5500 HVLP would be interesting.

      nice to hear of more people hes reached out to , the issues always been with these guns that the sellers give no guidance on setup, or most anyway so people dont know where to start and then end up giving them a bad name when infact this guns by far one of the best you can buy

    I love my gti pro and my pro lite for both base and clear but have to say I have the ws 400 and the ls400 both lay down much flatter and I think use less material. Sometimes a little too good, the pro lite with te20 seems to nail the factory orange peel.

    • @TonysRefinishingTV

      it also comes down to personal preference mate , the iwatas do lay down lovely compared rp the prolite in my eyes thats not saying its a bad gun but set up right these are phenomenal guns

    Anybody tried glasurit 923-625 HS CLEAR with the iwatas evo 1.3Hd?
    I use this now and struggeling to get it to stretch proparly because its massiv thick (viscosity 20s) so if any have some setting recomandation etc id love to hear about it.
    I use the lotus and caterham editions of the evo ws on both base and clear...just love it for base and on clear (roofs and bonnets like glass but still some struggles along sides of car to get that nice finish i want)..
    Hope to hear from someone thats using glasurit or used it:)

      How much do you overreduce it?...i now put in normal amount (33% thinner) and take in extra 20% of the 33% in it..seems to work a little better...
      thats about 40% total reducing:)...

    • @kennethandersen6920
      @kennethandersen6920 6 років тому

      @@techn9ne206 another thing with the overreducing is that it seems to pull back on the glossiness after finishing the drying so i've tried out the 630 clear a bit with 532-15 racing additive in it instead of 30 thinner..seem to hold the gloss and dry in same time as the 625 so thats a pluss:)

      Try heating the clear up before you spray it. You can sit the clear and hardener tins in hot water for about 20 min before you clear. I find this really helps the clear to flow and it goes on really nice. In a pinch, you can even microwave the activated clear for 20-25 seconds, but don't overdo it!
