    Hi Pete used the original a couple of yrs back it painted nice but far too much of a faff to get it set right so mothballed it and went back to the GTI pro thanks for the vid 😊😊

      Hi Dean, Yeah, that was a problem experienced by many with the clear gun, that has been sorted on the new version , they obviously discovered that lining up the splits in the tip with the air horns did the trick, thanks mate, as always, it's much appreciated 👍

    Hi Pete, great video again mate with lots of useful info for those that have the WS400 series2 but can't or don't want the expense of buying another gun can convert their WS to an OBS, if I find a second hand OBS tip and needle setup then I might get it for mine but I don't think I would but it new🤔
    The fan pattern test was interesting as for some reason I was expecting there to see some obvious differences between the LS and WS pattern size but the LS is dryer and that's about it👌
    Thanks Pete, very enjoyable👏👍

      Hi John, I was expecting a difference as well in the patterns, but there wasn't much. The LS400 would normally be held closer than that, making it smaller and a little wetter, saving material in the process.
      They all give an excellent even pattern. There's no doubt that split tip helps atomisation at the expense of speed. It's probably more noticeable with basecoats, particularly more complex colours on roofs and bonnets, where stripping is most noticeable.
      I was pretty sure the physical differences between these guns would be the same as in the series 1, I had to wait until I got the set to find out. Cheers, mate, as always👍

      I would like the LS400 but my setup wouldn't thank me for it 😅if I didn't use an airfed mask I would be ok but as my booth is small it gets quite foggy in there at time so I'm not keen on using a cartridge mask, I have considered a cartridge mask but I really don't know if it would be worse than my airfed🤔

      @JohnWD40TC02 I hardly use my air fed these days, I have plenty of air now, but I can't be bothered with all the faffing about, I have a 3rd compressor that I used to have in a shed to supply the mask, it's pointless having the compressor in the same environment as your spraying in as it's drawing in polluted air but I just use my Moldex these days, seems fine and I have asthma.
      The LS400 is a good gun. It's actually a good, slow, clear gun as well. The series 2 sprays the same as the series 1, so there are no benefits to the new one apart from it matches the others 😉 😀

    Cracking video 📹 mate very well explained thanks for sharing that pete whats the difference between the green cap and the blue cap please its out off the box ready to go are them better than the sagola extreme aqua 4600 1.3

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Рік тому +2

      Hi Andy, The green cap is HVLP, so it runs at a lower pressure and uses loads of air. It's generally regarded as a base coat gun but pretty good for as well, although quite slow.
      The Sagola is a faster gun. They are both really good, so I don't think one's better than the other, just quite different

    if some one asks you pete to choose betwen the sata b5000 rp which has been your treasured gun & the WS400 iwata what would you choose ? i know its a tough question but i am sure you have an answer giving one of the guns a WIN-

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  11 місяців тому

      Hi Rahul, That's quite difficult as they are completely different. The WS is a very fine atomisation, relatively slow gun, and the Sata is a rocket.
      I would say, if your work was purely custom stuff where time isn't a problem, it's just the finish you are after the WS400 would win
      If you are a production painter or someone who wants to get on with it with a good finish, the Sata would be the tool.
      I'm lucky to have them both, so I don't need to make the choice as it's a tough one for sure. Cheers, mate 👍

    Hola Petes yo tengo una ls400 híbrida y trae muy bien alineados la boquilla con las muescas

      Hola amigo, sí, algunos lo hacen solos. La mayoría no lo hace, pero algunos de la serie 1 están bien. En realidad, sólo la pistola de barniz transparente WS400 es la que se beneficia de esta posición.

    Hi pete If you were asked to choose one, who would you choose? dv1 clear coat or iwata series 2

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Рік тому +1

      Hi buddy, I think the series 2 would have to be the winner it it were for clearcoat. If we are talking basecoat I would go for whatever is cheapest as the DV1 base gun is as good as the series2

    Got pete I have been waiting ages mate to see this video I spoke to my friend at spray gun direct and iwata aware of this problem and the guns 🔫 are under warranty pete so you would not recommend pete a digital version of the series 2 just the non digital

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Рік тому

      Hi Andy, definitely stay away from the digital. They are the ones with the problems. They are made in Italy, and the none digital are made in Japan. The none digital doesn't shed its chrome plate.
      You might be lucky and get a digital that's ok, but you might not. They are more complicated to clean as well.

      @miauzkater6745 Hi Maiuz, Yes, this is a common problem. Can you confirm the 4 guns you had problems with were digital versions? Thanks 👍

    • @miauzkater6745
      @miauzkater6745 11 місяців тому

      Yes, all the digital ones were from Italy. non digital no problems

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  11 місяців тому

      @miauzkater6745 Thanks, that's exactly what everyone else has said. Only affects the Italian digital ones, not the none digital Japanese ones.
      Iwata says the problem is fixed, but I certainly remain sceptical . Thanks again, buddy 👍

    • @peteshobbies5383

      Hi Roy, the end cap, the LS400 is HVLP, and the WS base isn't

      Thanks for the great videos, Pete. I was planning to only purchase 1 gun for both base and clear (in Series 1). Would one be able to put an LS tip in the WS, just as you demonstrated with Series 2. Or would you recommend i just do base and clear with a LS?

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  3 місяці тому

      @stizolac Hi Mate, You can put the LS tip in the WS. You end up with a WBS then.
      The LS400 is a very good clear gun, but it's very slow, so it would work as an only gun provided you don't mine the slowness with clear coat

    • @stizolac
      @stizolac 3 місяці тому +1

      @peteshobbies5383 Lots of information. Thank you, I appreciate it. It's just hard for me to justify the expense of both guns as a hobbyist. Is it safe to assume the WS tip should then fit in the LS. Im thinking i should get the LS400 and see first if using it for clear as well works for me before also getting a WS tip.
