    Brilliant! I've watched others who take forever to cut out one shape using rocks or other hard items and wondered why they didn't just mimic the way a die cutting machine works and sandwich the item between two hard surfaces and roll over it. Thanks for showing that it can be done.

    I’ve been wanting a die cut machine for a long time. I just found out today that you don’t need a machine. Other videos rolled right on top of the paper. It looked very hard and it damaged the rolling pin. Thanks bunches for sharing. It makes sense to use the plastic on top because the machines use the plastic on top. This is the most useful video I’ve seen in a long time.

    You are a genius! I bought a big die cut machine and it took up too much space so I returned it. Meanwhile, I have a rolling pin that is so hidden away I forgot I had it. Seems like the rolling pin is the perfect solution to my space saving and my die cutting. Thank you so much Oh Wise One 😉

But, if you make any more videos, please spend an extra couple seconds zoomed in on the final product...we can't see the embossing on this project. ;-( However, I am sure it turned out well...I just could not see it. I don't know how you did this so easily, LOL! I put a self healing cutting mat on top and I rolled my rolling pin over the die many, many times, and it was only partially cut. I then started pounding the mat (with the die underneath, cutting edge up) with my rolling pin to finally get it to cut. It took about an hour of rolling and pounding to cut an intricate but small die (about 2 inches by 4 inches).

    • @63artemisia63
      @63artemisia63 2 роки тому +2

      @Doris Lin haven’t tried this yet but I imagine the result depends on the quality and intricacy of the die. Cheap dies w intricate designs probably don’t work as well.

    • @christiedecker2724
      @christiedecker2724 2 роки тому +3

      I've tried it with the rolling pin as well, a nice little impress, very little impress, but no cut! The best results I've had was using a spoon back against the die, it cut it through fairly quickly. I'm wondering if this is a 'fake idea' used to garner views, because it doesn't work on any die I've tried and I have a marble (heavy) rolling pin and nothing.

      She placed the cutting die right side up (with the sharp side facing up), and the self healing mat on the bottom. You need a hard surface on top, so the sharp side can actually cut. The self healing mat may be not son hard and that's why yours are not cutting. Remember that in a machine you use two hard acrylic plates on top and bottom.
