  • Hi all, thanks for stopping by and watching this latest restoration video of these 1930s 'Cooper Stewart' Rain King Sprinklers...
Been sat outside for some years, so much so, I cracked the shaft for the hose nozzle. Sadly i don't have a lathe, so have had to patch it with metal cold weld. But seems to have worked.
Retained the true original colours using powder coat, which is always fun.
As ever, lots of sand blasting, filling, sanding, cleaning, prep work.
It's now December, so roll on summer when they can be used properly...
I hope you enjoy the before and after.
Thanks you all for watching, I appreciate the views, comments, feel free to press like and subscribe - it all helps us small restorer channels...
    More to come. .

I'm a little jealous...I've been trying to buy one off a guy at the flea market for my wife's garden. The guy just won't come off his price. Came out fantastic!

That looks great. Nice and difficult restoration. I like the result. I would like to have a springler like this one on my garden through summer days (cause I hate plastics). One thing... I would highlight those signs on the body... And your bench grinder sounds like from another solar system (on my headphones) 🙂👍

Thanks, definitely outlast any plastic rubbish.. I did think about highlighting the letters, maybe on the next project👍👍

Nice job, I did one on my channel a while ago, it fought me all the way due to corrosion. 👍🏻

Thanks for watching, I did watch your videos a few times for tips. For the life of me, I couldn't undo the central shaft. But it spun freely, but did make painting tricky👍👍

@@CrustyRestorations they're interesting things. Mine takes pride of place in the shed, buried under far too many projects! 😁

Very nice! Very labor intensive restoration but it turned out great. I wondered how you would make the repair - good old JB Weld to the rescue. Regards, Bill.

Thanks for watching, gutted when it broke. If I had a lathe could have drilled it out, made a whole new piece etc.. Certainly an item for the future 👍👍

You hit the hose swivel the wrong way...that's what broke it
