    Nice job well done. As it was your first welding project I am proud of you. About tips .. when you want to weld cast iron first preheat the work second tip use lower power (I noticed the work was melting) . Good luck 👍👍👍👍

    You have done a good job and from what I have seen on UA-cam it is good to heat up the iron before you weld it. I am not sure what temperature, but a slight redness in the iron should be good.

    Also a tip when cutting (making) threads that will help you a lot. You need oil to keep it from breaking and to cut the threads easier. 3-in-1 oil or actual oil made for using a tap and die.

    9:53 talk about a sad iron yes, jeez, also as a tip preheat cast iron before welding to avoid cracks later on, as for pin hole cracks like that one on the chimney spout thing you want it down quite low voltage so it does not burn through, there is plenty of videos about the basics of welding. Im no welder but once i do i should be able to pick it up quickly, me preferably i like plasma welding or brazing, less violent.

    Two keys to filling a hole, especially with cast iron. Get amperage just above non-binding point. Too high and you make the hole larger as seen in video. Second start from the perimeter of the hole and work towards the center. If you start in the middle, again, you'll make the hole bigger. Also, have you considered electrolysis or at the very least a liquid rust remover before sandblasting? Overall, nice job. Cheers!

      Hello my friend. 😀 Thanks for your comment. It's true. I've never welded before. In the video you only see the scenes that worked reasonably well. There's at least 30 minutes of welding left, which isn't shown in the video. Quite a lot went wrong there. 😏 Most of the time it just didn't weld even though the contact was there. But whatever. The main thing is that you liked the video. Best regards from Germany 🙂

    Schweißen ist üben üben üben und nochmal üben. Wenn Du Dir nicht sicher bist ob die Stromstärke passt nimm erst ein Probestück wo Du es testest. Manchmal sind zuviele Unterlegscheiben zuviele Unterlegscheiben 🙂. Kürz doch einfach die Schraube . Aber ein tolles Ergebniss . sieht echt super aus. .

    • @bestrestorechannel
      @bestrestorechannel  Рік тому +1

      😀 Danke, ich werde mich ran halten was das schweißen betrifft. Es war ja auch eher Löcher stopfen als richtig schweißen. Ich werde weiter üben 👍Bei den Unterlegscheiben gebe ich dir recht. Ich habe überlegt die Schraube zu kürzen. War aber die einzige die ich in der Größe hatte und ich hatte muffen daß sie zu kurz wird. Und dann das Projekt noch länger dauert nur wegen der Schraube. Das Projekt hat 4 Wochen und ca. 70 Arbeitsstunden plus 20 Stunden Schneiden gebraucht. Ich hatte 900 GB Filmmaterial 🫣 Aber du hast recht... Sieht nicht gut aus mit den ganzen Unterlegscheiben. Aber funktioniert und ist auf der Innenseite.. Von daher. Toll daß du meine Videos schaust und auch was schreibst 😀👍

      @draganmeister8770 Рік тому +1

      @@bestrestorechannel danke für deine Antwort. Und nebenbei, es gibt für jedes Material die passende Elektrode. Wow, das ist echt heftig viel arbeit gewesen. Wie gesagt , das Ergebniss kann sich sehen lassen. Mit einem Meßschieber kannst Du die Tiefe messen. Dann passt auch die Schraube und im Zweifel gild, lieber zweimal schneiden als einmal zu kurz.War auch nur als Tip gemeint nicht als Kritik. :-) LG

    If you were to use a tank of water that you put the item in @ the beginning with salt. Pit a wire to help the electricity along to the iron and then an iron rod across the top to hook the wires to. You would have gotten rid of most of the rust from the start.

    Ładnie wykonana renowacja. Tylko jedna uwaga nie można tu stosować śrub gwiazdkowych ani krzyżakowych bo to dyskwalifikuje całą robotę.

    • @bestrestorechannel
      @bestrestorechannel  Рік тому

      Myślę, że masz rację. Śruby nie pasują do żelazka, które ma więcej niż 100 lat. Niestety dla mnie to była jedyna opcja. Mam nadzieję, że efekt nadal był zadowalający. Pozdrowienia dla Polski! 🙂👍

    never heard of cutting oil, if you use it your tap won't break as quickly or not, and the voltage plus amperage setting of your welding machine is way too high

    Es waren keine Gänse , Kraniche , man hört es am Ruf . Eine Kreutzschlitzschraube und eine Schraube mit Innensechskant sind fehl am Platz , Restauration heißt im Original erhalten. Ich wünsche dir weiterhin viel Glück. Gruß aus Magdeburg

    one hour is a really "too much long" video... content is good, but seeing EVERYTHING of EVERYTHING is not..

    • @bestrestorechannel
      @bestrestorechannel  Рік тому +1

      Hi! Yes you are right! It is too long. I want to manage my videos around 20 - 30 Minutes. But it is not easy. For this video I had 900 GB of film material. Round about 20 hours. But I will shorten the next videos, i promise 😀👍

      @@bestrestorechannel if u make a simple video for 20/30 mins is very good, because if it is too long, u can loose watchers
