I love it Boyd, I'm really glad you decided to light the 'impulse engine' at the back, really adds something to the back end. Beautiful build from head to toe!
Another top notch build Boyd, the model looks simply beautiful. In my opinion, your work exceeds model making and enters into fine art, as the level of craft is always impeccable and the very best.
Thanks Chuck, I still have a soft spot for all of the old AMT Star Trek kit's. I still remember that big box with the cool artwork that the original Galileo kit came in.
TrekWorks So do I, I first built it in '81 at age 12 and was disappointed by the inaccuracy of it. On the other hand, correcting the top, side, and aft engine angles and contours gave me one of my first scratchbuilding lessons.
Boyd, If you DON'T win a trophy/medal for this at whatever modeling con you enter model in, then we all know the competitions are fixed! LOL It came out really well. Very nice job with the lighting on both the interior and exterior and I don't even like this design that much! But seriously, I think you made very nice choices for this model. I didn't recall this ship having nacelle lighting like that on the original shooting miniature for the series BUT there are at least 4 episodes where this kind of shuttle design does travel at warp speed. (People also forget the tight budget the original show had and the lack of access to LED technology and lighting control boards... The 3-ft Enterprise wasn't lit and it was a much bigger model than this. The lighting tech we take for granted just didn't exist back then! All the CGI work and later models like this make the old designs pop out and pretty much show all but the most cynical people that, yeah, the designs still work today!) I know a lot of us would jump to the conclusion that it was a sublight vessel BUT the other guys are right -- it DID travel at warp a few times. There's that and the fact that the propulsion pods clearly mimic the larger nacelles of the starship itself so why WOULDN'T the nacelles have the same kind of lighting effects as the mothership/starship? Call it artistic license or technical rationalization but I think it works here!
Awesome work Boyd! You continue to floor me! Love your builds! Have you ever heard of "Star Trek Continues"? If you're a fan of TOS, and I know you are, you should do yourself a favor and check it out. It's the best Trek since TOS, no word of a lie! Apparently Gene 's son, Rod said after viewing it that his dad would've considered it "Star Trek Canon". It's on U-tube at StarTrekContinues U-tube channel. I was surprised to discover how authentically the production was done, it's even filmed in the original 16mm TOS was to capture the same look. Except that the actors are not the original, it was like brand new unseen episodes of TOS, I swear it!
fantastic model great work. a request can you do a multi part series on step by step on how to fix things like paint runs, clear coat paint runs , chips that go all the way back to bare plastic on a completed paint job, putty and paint blending like you just did , as well as how you can mask over decals with out ripping them off once you complete the touch up or paint blending.and all the other things to do with fixing or completing paint jobs ,thank you for all the help.
Continuing your excellent work, Boyd. I love all your work but I really love the Star Trek builds, the most. She's just as pretty (actually far prettier) as when Spock crashed her in the middle of the Morisaki Quasar. I bet your mailbox will blow up now for a whole bunch of new orders. 😉
Wonderful work Sir, I am new to your channel (about 4 weeks) So I went back and watched your other builds and a few live streams. All amazing work and very educational. And not just your Star Trek builds, You said you did know was to make next, I was thinking if could the same scale for the shuttle pods on the Enterprise nx-01 you could have kind of a history line time thing going on
I'll show it going on it's base. Nothing real fancy though. Just the floor of the Enterprise Shuttle Bay with it's markings. There will be two small contact points for the power to go to the model on the surface and that's about it.
I didn't notice that on the full size prop. If I had mounted the nacelles further inboard so the hatch was closer, they would have looked wrong. And if I made the hatch bigger it would have been taller than the shape of the opening on the side and look wrong too.
Love the finish; looks car-body perfect. Good call on the red panel to the rear-- why not? Shouldn't Tena Control be able to have a trickle-charger feed a set of small LiPo batteries, so that one can pick up the model and it stays lit?! (Just got back from SDCC, have a wicked bone-wracking cold but have started prepping for destroying/rejuvenating your Reliant!)
That shuttle craft rivals the filming model of the 60's. The interior is ultra realistic. BTW, a few months back you dropped by my channel, and commented on my Mutara Wrath of Khan Diorama. Because I consider you one of the best in the business, I was curious if you would re-visit my channel and comment on my latest diorama (pulling no punches;) My 2001: A Space Odyssey lighted TMA-1 moon monolith site. I know Stanley Kubrick's controversial career is coming to light, but I will always be a fan of that film, and was wondering what you thought of my scratch build project. Thanks.
best use of sandpaper I have seen all year! Excellent finish on the model Boyd, just beautiful!!
Thanks John.
Awesome looking for sure, very realistic. Those extra touches with the non skid steps are very clever as usual.
Thanks for setting up those bussard boards Ralph. They look great on the model.
@@TrekWorks looks fabulous, always loved these. Are there figures available for this model; the diorama possibilities seem endless!!
I love it Boyd, I'm really glad you decided to light the 'impulse engine' at the back, really adds something to the back end. Beautiful build from head to toe!
A piece of art! Very nicely presented…thank you so much.
Another top notch build Boyd, the model looks simply beautiful. In my opinion, your work exceeds model making and enters into fine art, as the level of craft is always impeccable and the very best.
Thank you Robert, these models deserve the best that I can do.
excellent work Boyd another beautiful build. love the lighting and the non-stop steps are a nice touch.
Thanks a bunch Kenny :)
Wonderful piece; absolutely beautiful. Well done!
That's one beautiful shuttlecraft Boyd! Display it with honor. Well done.
Thanks Mike :)
that build is clean.. clean... clean... love the paintjob and how you ridden away the silver and edging of the decals... man .... very nice work!
Outstanding. Amazing level of detail and skill putting this together.
Outstanding work Boyd!! thumbs up!!
Thanks Steve :)
@@TrekWorks only thing missing is a big hairy creature banging the top with a rock :D
Fantastic work. Just hope Round 2 get a similar version of it out one day.
Yes, that would be nice.
She turned out amazing, Boyd! Love it!
Thanks Matt, it took me awhile to get round to building it. I remember bringing the kit to Houston to show it to you guys.
Awesome work Boyd. Down to the smallest detail like the non slip steps....cool!!
Thanks Omar :)
Nice Boyd! she looks great! the rear gear really kicks it up a notch over the AMT kit amongst other things....
Thanks Chuck, I still have a soft spot for all of the old AMT Star Trek kit's. I still remember that big box with the cool artwork that the original Galileo kit came in.
TrekWorks i hear ya... i just got a new Lindberg kit. Actually impressed... no flash! Lol. Nice kit.
TrekWorks So do I,

That shuttle looks awesome excellent work someday I'm going to have to get me one.
I hope you do. You'll be glad you did. It's a really nice little kit.
AWESOME BUILD. I have mine to add lites to it as well, great affects.
Excellent work, well done!
Wow amazing work Boyd-some clever ideals for lighting. enjoyed the build
This is incredible. Fantastic work. Wow!
Wow that looks fantastic Boyd!
Brilliant, gorgeously done model...just amazing😀
One of my favorite ships and Wow!!! You really did an amazing job on this! The detail is incredible! Really top notch work as usual Boyd! 😁
Thanks!

Stunning work sir, and it shows.
Awesome build Boyd! Ready to get one of those!
Very, very nice! Good job!
Came out really good Boyd!
Thanks bud, it was a nice trial run for the next one.
Wow amazing detail. Great work.
It turned out amazing!
Awesome work Boyd!
That's really Sweet. - Thank you for these videos, it gets me the motivation to work on my 1/1000 USS Enterprise.

If the grille on the back is an impulse engine . how can it.not be cannon?.
Stunning build Boyd.
Thanks Lee.
Awesome job! It looks fantastic
Awesome work,completely jealous,need little spock,kirk,bones.🤩🤗
WOW! Great job!!
Bravo Boyd. Looks ready for some studio filming
fantastic model great work.

I'll be happy to do that. Look for it on an upcoming Model Shop Show.
Thanks Boyd that is very kind of you thanks again.
Looks brilliant 🙂
Great work, Boyd ! The company that said they was producing a 1/35 scale plasitic kit is missing the boat on this kit.
I agree, they are missing that and a lot of other ships that we have told them we want.
Wow, that looks so great, I love the reddish flickering at the rear, is that a couple of 'flickering candle' LEDs?
Yes, they are 5 mm orange flickering LED's.
TrekWorks Ah, I thought I recognised the pattern. They work very well there!
Yep, kinda like she is idling and ready to go!
Yeah, it really gives it some internal life, like there's genuine power stored up in there, great effect!

Fantastic build Boyd, if you put it on a diorama will you film the progress of that too?
I'll show it going on it's base. Nothing real fancy though. Just the floor of the Enterprise Shuttle Bay with it's markings.
There will be two small contact points for the power to go to the model on the surface and that's about it.
Outstanding!
Very very nice!
So nice!!
Great work as always Boyd but didn't the step actually rest on the nacelle of the large scale Galileo prop? Again a topping job
I didn't notice that on the full size prop. If I had mounted the nacelles further inboard so the hatch was closer, they would have looked wrong. And if I made the hatch bigger it would have been taller than the shape of the opening on the side and look wrong too.
FAN.....TASTIC! 🤩👍
Just wondering. Shouldn't the lower door hatch be resting on top of the nacelle?
Awesome job!....can you send me a link for the model kit and lighting?
Love the finish; looks car-body perfect. Good call on the red panel to the rear-- why not? Shouldn't Tena Control be able to have a trickle-charger feed a set of small LiPo batteries, so that one can pick up the model and it stays lit?!
(Just got back from SDCC, have a wicked bone-wracking cold but have started prepping for destroying/rejuvenating your Reliant!)
Very nice, but should the door be open while the engines are running? I feel like that's a definite safety issue. ;)
Awesome 👍👍👍👍!
very nice.
Hey, that's pretty good.
great build, where did you get it from. I am about to start my 1/350 enterprise refit then a 1/350 bird of prey

Now all you need is an Aqua Shuttle from the animated series.
hermosa miniatura!!!!!
Why don't you do the polar light shuttlecraft
1/48 scale?
Oh sorry, you state about 1/30th. I am going to need a 1/72 scale in the future. I may have to scratch one out.
How much and how to osder
DONT FORGET THE WOODEN TOGGLE LEVERS ON TOP OF THE CONSOLE... SHOULD BE 3 OF THEM.
I don't think the "Wooden" knobs were there yet when they shot the Galileo 7 episode. I didn't see them when I took all those screen shots.
LOL your right.. i just did some research... constant constant changes at the last minute.. "to fit the story line" your right sir!
Yeah I think they were in the Immunity Syndrome episode..
ZXLNT Correct, they are the engine and power distribution throttle levers.

Cool👍
Makes me with I was 3 inches tall
very very nice. want to sell it??
Beautiful...as a TOS an I want one so bad its not funny.
