I love strange interval entertainment! I went to see the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company that is) production of As You Like It and the shepherd appeared through a trapdoor and skinned a rabbit (yes, a real one) and they put up bits of cardboard all around the foyer and down the road outside as Orlando's poems about Rosalind. It was really gorgeous when we came out of the theatre and the street was only dimly lit.
I remember seeing the Australian version of this! We had to do do the 'maybe, maybe not', get thee to a nunnery!' and 'Cut the crap Hamlet, my biological clock is ticking, and i want babies, NOW!', except the guys made group 'C' to the actions. Also, in the interval, you saw the guy who didn't want to do hamlet and the guy trying to convince him actually run out of the building while everyone was having pringles and lemonade! The puppet show was great. One of the best plays i've EVER SEEN!!!
I was at the part where he said, "Forgive me, Hamlet, for I am slain by my own..." Then I accidentally hit a point on the timeline which took me to the part where he said, "Cross-dressing Dane!" XD
They're all such great actors -- they could easily have a career performing these plays seriously, and well. But . . . instead they decide to do this, and I love them for it.
I'm preparing for my Hamlet final tomorrow. I remember watching this two years ago before we began King Lear. It was funny the and it's funnier now that I know the actual plot.
Gotta say, that scream was magnificent. "It was so beautiful, erotic, and sensual...." I'll never look at puppet shows the same way again. A classic bit "See this? This is acting" "Here, thou murderous, incestuous.... crossdressing Dane"
This is the first version of Hamlet I've seen where Hamlet spikes Yorick's skull into the ground. "What is he whose grief bears such an emphasis? Hi-YA!!"
She screamed absolutely perfectly. Just nailed it!
5:40 is literally the funniest possible interpretation, I love it

I never assumed that sock puppets made Shakespeare hilarious XD
"I remember you, you were on the east german women's track team in '72. His name was Helga i swear to god."
Adam Long is a genius! What a pity he isn't more famous and we don't get to see more of him
I was at the part where he said, "Forgive me, Hamlet, for I am slain by my own..." Then I accidentally hit a point on the timeline which took me to the part where he said, "Cross-dressing Dane!" XD
"Now be careful, those are sharp..." Haha,

"Manamanah" was on both shows. It was first a standalone piece for Ed Sullivan.

At 6:14, I thought that he was saying, "They burned his face down the beer." (It's "They bore him barefaced on the bier")
I like how they spend a quarter of their time on one of the less important scenes.
