4:40 swap to rit instead of traiblazer if you need more survivability. You gain vit instead of toughness which avoid you messing with tanking. And you gain boon duration which helps with uptime if you're new to the build or during messy fights Edit: also learning a static loop for shroud will help you tremendously with dps
Not sure how ritualist stat gear would give you more survivability. You gain increased vitality (used for tanking condi damage) for it sure, but you don't get any toughness (used for tanking strike damage) at all which is what trailblazer provided. Surely the boon duration isn't enough to make that difference as that only extends the timers and not the effectiveness.
@@majinpvegeta Vitality increases your hp pool which effectively means that it makes you harder to get killed from condi AND power damage. It also does not mess with tanking mechanics which is a huge plus in raid scenarios where you really don't want to have a guy who doesn't even know they're tanking directing the boss attacks towards the rest of the squad. The one advantage that toughness has over vitality specifically on harbinger is that vitality gets effectively reduced effectiveness from blight since the mechanic scales your hp pool down. But then I would advance the argument that, if you depend on toughness gear to not die in raids, you need to learn to dodge circles and to tell your healer to give more prot (prot does as much dmg reduction as 1000 extra toughness does). I do want to strass that you can survive all encounters on harb if you have prot on you and don't feed to red circles. I would know, I regularly play this class. And the BD helps cover your uptimes if you have a sketchy rotation or if the boss is forcing you to go away form stack for mechanics. And more quickness is more damage dealt to boss. More damage dealt means that the boss phases/dies faster. A boss dead earlier is a boss that has less time to do mechanics. And less mechanics is ultimately less wipe/failure points and less damage taken by the squad.
@@majinpvegeta Adding toughness is a big no-no for most raids as a lot of raid bosses have toughness based tanking. Also generally speaking, swapping off Vipers actually loses you quite a lot of dps because strike damage is still quite a significant part of any CDPS build. There are very few instances in pve where you'll randomly be hit with >10k damage burst (Greatsword Mobs with damage increasing instabs in Tier 4 Urban Battleground / Oasis Fractals being the classic examples). Every single other time you're getting oneshot at 16k Health, somebody (usually you) has made a very serious mistake. You really don't need more than 16k HP to survive. But if you absolutely NEED the extra survivability and you have the flexibility offered by legendary gear, just go Ritualist.
I run this as a jack-of-all-trades build for PvE and WvW using trailblazer main gear... Sceptre/Sword (offense) and Sword/dagger (defense) and Well of Corruption to convert boons to condis to open WvW group fights and its really good, esp. with condi damage healing you, vs. the Blood is Power variant. It's a better build than I am a player but the sustain in all game modes is insane. My gear is still a bit of a mess, but I'm running 2100 condition damage and as long as I survive the initial onslaught, I'm winning 1 on 1 fights in Roaming WvW that I never won before. Sword is almost as good as pistol for refilling lifeforce and adds passive heals.
The power version of this also *really slaps* Playing power quick harbi in fractals raids and strikes and had some good results on it. The upside to it is that if you have a power reaper set up, all you need to do is to change the reaper traitline into harbinger with the right traits. It's that simple.
just a few remarks: - blight stacks give you a quite decent amount of self-healing, so you are definitely more sturdy than some other builds with 16k hp. if you get hit for 16k, that's just a matter of gameplay, not every weaver constantly dies either. - you do want to use the elixirs off cd since they generate a lot of blight and not only your elixirs do more dmg with blight, but also your shroud skills. so you lose out on a lot of dps if you don't meet the blight thresholds. - you have quite decent cc on this build with pistol 3, torch 5, shroud 4 and shroud 5 in addition to optionally bringing spectral grasp. - other than on scg you have very nice mobility built-in to the class with shroud 3 and shroud 4 with shroud 4 even being an evade that you can use to not get oneshot - on harb you gain life force by entering shroud, so you never have a moment where you cannot go into shroud because your life force is drained. that links to not having a second hp bar, but instead taking dmg to your normal hp while in shroud. that sucks for survivability ofc, but it massively helps to make the dps and boon output consistent. - dagger 5 is also dmg that you didn't use in your clips
This is really good advice. Tho im tired of people saying harb on max stack is ultra squish while it still has more health than Ele, guard and thief. While the latter two have more armor that doesn't mean its always applicable nor are you always in the worst case. Plus you get a free regen stronger than max healing power regen next to it. Aditionally you get more vitality for just being a harb and each master trait scales with your vitality so it's not a real wasted stat. Yes, you are sacrificing 37.5% of max hp, but people don't get that necro's healthbar is stacked and only matched by warrior while you can still get healed in schroud unlike reaper. I think you'll get a little more damage if you don't spend as much time in shroud. Entering or exiting shroud gives you a buff called soul barbs which gives you +10% damage for 15 seconds. So you generally want to be leaving or entering shroud before the soul barbs effect runs out. You'll also get more damage by using the Insidious Disruption trait instead of plague sending. This trait applies torment when you disable an enemy, so shroud 4 and 5 will do torment. This means that you'll need to use dagger 4 to send the conditions, or alternatively you can use plague signet, though that takes up a utility slot. It's possible to use Blood is Power twice at the beginning to send more conditions to the enemy, but as you mentioned you risk your conditions getting cleansed if you don't send them to the enemy immediately.

No. In instanced PvE, resistance is only useful in short periods so having sporadic resistance application is fine. Resolution has the same effects where only some bosses output enough damaging condis to matter. Finally, condition cleanses exist, are much more common and completely remove the problems instead of delaying or dampening them
Whats your opinion about condi Harbringer? Btw I really like your necro skins and your race pick. If I knew that this hat is a thing in the game my necro would be asura instead of human, for the sake of having cute hero I would definately go for it.

At the time that I tried this build I didn't know power harbi was a thing. I found a guide for condi and did it, and it worked great. However since then I've learned (from this comment section) that the power version is quite popular as well.
@@MuklukUA-cam ive seen power harbringer in action and its amazing, I still think condi version is superior damage wise but atleast I know that the power variant is viable with probably greatsword sword sword or greatsword axe focus. (I am not a fan of dagger torch since its doesnt burn boons).
@@huna7a Necro dagger 3 does remove boons, unless you mean something else.
@@huna7a which will do more damage is fight specific, power is bustier so on many fights with short phases it will do more damage since it bursts instead of ramps but if the fight does not phase like soulless horror or if the boss moves around a lot like soulless horror (makes bursting harder) them condition will do more damage, the difference in damage on the golem is extremely marginal they like 1k dps difference which isn't signficant
I was expecting mukluk to mention that blood is power getting cleansed by other players and it should be addressed by anet in a way that “self-inflicted conditions cannot be cleansed by your team-mates”. But he did not run “Insidious Disruption” trait and that trait is actually pretty decent dps gain for harbinger. Please muk let us be heard :(
also remember scepter 3 its a boon strip on enemies too
Why trailblazer and not cele?
I love to play harbinger, my only issue with harbinger(and scourge) is that it has nothing to do with necromancy.
I main guardian and thief, so I don't notice the health loss on harbinger. I was surprised when I played warrior how tanky you can get.
my favourite!!
My 2nd fav qdps after chrono. I like herald but it's boring ngl
Got almost confused wth the thumbnail
I see the Russian jokes didn't make it to the final cut and were replaced by a witcher thumdnail. XD
should try heal harb
Damn, as low as 16k health?! How would anyone ever cope with that?
*cries in ele*
helloooooo
How do you use a torch as a Harbinger? I must be dumb because I can't figure it out. I just returned after not playing for a year. What am I missing?
SOTO has a mastery track that gives you the ability of using the weapons from your other elite specs
