Hi, I'm Faye de Muyshondt from Social Sklz, here with you to talk about how to stop cursing. This is a really difficult one for so many people because cursing has become so ingrained in our language, but it's really important to stop. Because cursing gives off a really bad first impression,, particularly when you're meeting someone. So first things first, you need to figure out a way to understand and recognize how often you are cursing.
So what I like to suggest is, with a friend or loved one is having a conversation and asking them to either buzz or clap or do something to help you identify, just how often you are cursing. So that's going to help you understand just how often you are cursing and so many times, people aren't aware of the number of times they are cursing. The other thing is that, you can come up with a few words to replace those ill-fated words that you're using so often. So, for example, for the F word, you might use another F word that's a little softer and not a cause, as a replacement for the time being. Come up with a few words that you can use in place of curses and that's going to help you get started. Another idea is to tape yourself and tape yourself talking about something that you feel really passionately against. For example, because that's most often when people are using curse words.
So think of a topic that really drives you crazy. or something that you are really angry about or something that you have strong feelings against and set up a camera and tape yourself talking about that topic for at least a minute. A couple of replacement words that I use in my everyday language are sugar fudge, whole crunch and something of that nature. It just helps remove those words from your everyday language. So, even come up with your own creative words to use as replacements, until you can start eradicating these words from your everyday language.

What you can stop swearing is to pray to God. Even if you don't believe in him, try it. I used to swear all the time. Now I don't because God made me. But I can still remember it in my brain.
This is how I stopped cursing: when I said a curse word or phrase. I stopped and repeated the substitute word about 10 times. I did that so I would get used to hearing myself say the substitute word. It worked quickly for me!
As someone who once had a problem with swearing, I can assure you that it's not that hard to overcome - you just need to be willing to try! Plus, your self-esteem and general outlook become so much more positive as a result! :P

I’m willing and will stop cursing. It’s become a part of my vocabulary and I didn’t realize it until I heard my baby say a bad word. I notice I slip sometimes but persistence and consistency is key. If only there was a way to unlearn certain word to erase from memory…..maybe hypnosis. Great video. Thank you kindly.

I think that if you're really passionate about something in a negative way, that is the exact time and place to swear/curse. If you curse in just a regular sentence talking about cheese for example, I would say that's when you shouldn't

I think cursing can be great *sometimes* , like when you're hurting or when you're angry, but cursing in normal conversations is just unnecessary(that is what i have a problem with).

I'm glad and It's hard to believe that there are people who think that cursing is bad these days, bcoz of the fact that it has become so common and people literally don't care about the intensity and how it will impact well-mannered people around them. I've been a victim of verbal abuse to the maximum extent possible, I've also used cuss words as retaliation, and I regret it. I really don't want to be persuaded into thinking that using cuss words is 'manly' and 'heroic'.
I’m not saying I have smoked before, but it feels like you’re trying to quit smoking. I only know that from people talking about how it’s hard to quit smoking.
Here’s the weird thing about me;
when I’m happy I curse like a racehorse. (ha, see what I did there?)
but when I’m mad I am so polite that it’s infuriating to other people. (Or shocking.) it’s like killing them with kindness, but instead of kindness it’s politeness. (And it comes off at sass in an argument.)

Women are more attractive when they dress nice, have manners and never using curse words. I have dated a girl before who cussed and I told her that she didn't have to use that language, I believe people think it helps but it doesn't if you want to boost your rep with awesome people.

I honestly have never cursed in school at all. Literally all the time whenever I am in school, I hear a lot of people around me cursing at each other if they are mad, annoyed, or even for fun. Since then, whenever I get mad or annoyed about something or about someone, I curse to myself about them, and sometimes I accidentally curse to my family members. Whenever I do, they get all serious up in front of my face and telling me to STOP SAYING THESE CURSE WORDS!!! I listen to them but it seems kind of hard for me to stop cursing so much. Research has showed that swearing where it's appropriate (if something goes badly) can help reduce stress. So I see no reason to stop it.
Yeah, I feel like we curse too much in our everyday lives. Only curse id you are really upset or angry or stressed out, because you have to let out all that anger because keeping it all bottled up is bad for your health. But other than that, you shouldn't curse excessively, it makes a very vulgar and bad appearance out of you.
