    Gil, I agree 100%. This wasn't the same old collapse. This group shouldn't have been competitive with 5 starters out of the lineup, but they were. They should be proud of the point they earned. What really cost them was fatigue in 4 of the defensemen, who have been logging huge minutes because Cholowski and Hutton aren't NHL material.

    • @LockedOnIslanders
      @LockedOnIslanders  Місяць тому

      The fatigue was a problem as is just the lack of talent on defense. I hope they can hang tough until they get healthier, but it won't be easy. Thanks for the comment, Bob. LGI

      It's very frustrating, Kai, I totally understand. The team is shorthanded right now, but hopefully they can hang in until they get healthy. Thanks for the comment and LGI.

    Hi Gil! Don’t know what to say--They’re trying and honestly don’t have major talent but they are trying. It just feels like “We are waiting” for our full team to come back. That “Full team”got blanked 2 out of the first 4!! These blown leads are mental. There is no other explanation. When ya get rid of the usual culprits out there--then things will change. Gil-I know it wont happen but until this guy is gone, it won’t change. We are stuck in limbo with this guy but I would be just fine trading Palmeri, Nelson and JG and brining up the kids. I want to see the kids!! Enough with this ridiculous “Win now” crap!! I’ll say it till I’m blue in the face--if ya can break up the Dynasty teams, I just don’t understand the misguided loyalty here. Take care Gil!!

      Frankie I'm with you. Lou won't change course and go with kids. He keeps doubling down on the same core that hasn't won a playoff series in 3 years, this now being the fourth. Yes, the blown leads are mental. You know this team thinks, "here we go again" when they're trying to protect a lead like that. Will ownership realize change is needed? I hope so. I'll believe it when I see it. Thanks for the comment, Frankie. LGI

    Though disappointed to have let the lead slip, they earned a well-deserved point, proving their grit even under difficult circumstances. LGI

      Well said Darrell. That's why I said I wasn't as upset as usual with this collapse. They need to earn points and hang on until they start getting healthy. So close a "W" though. Thanks for the comment. LGI

      Thanks for the comment, Gail. They have to keep it close until they get healthy again. Now, those loser points are more important. So close to getting two points. LGI

    Good morning team! Gil, another disappointing loss after having a lead in the 3rd. The PK gave up a goal, and playing against the empty net hurt us as well. With a depleted team, I was happy to get the loser point, against a Devil's team that has it going on right now. This one didn't hurt as much as most losses. When we get a few injured players back, maybe we can hope for a better showing. Glad to see the players that are playing right now, for giving it their all. Reilly gets hit with the injury bug. Please, stop the bleeding! I agree, Holmstrom as hero of the game. Thanks again, Gil. Looking forward to the next episode. Everyone, have a great day! Happy Veterans Day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

      It was tough to watch a two goal lead disappear in the last 4:29 of the game. I hope they can hang tough and stay close until they get healthy again. Happy Veteran Day to you, too, Tony. Thanks for the comment, and LGI.

    Let me be the first to channel Jim Mora "Playoffs! You want to talk about Playoffs?!!!! Playoffs!" Sorry had to do it. They're competing more than I thought they would. I can tell you that! Am I happy...........ah not really.

      I totally get the reference. This team has to survive this injury crisis. Big picture, Lou needs to change course or the team needs to move on from Lou, but I'll believe that when it happens. Thanks for the comment, Joseph. LGI

    Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? Before I begin, I want to 🎊 to Brent Sutter on making the Islander Hall of Fame, and that means his #21 will be hanging in the rafters. Now back to business at hand, every time the Islanders take 2 steps forward, they end up taking 1 step back. Patrick Roy was uncomfortable with Dennis Chulowski, but he scored the tying goal. Hero, Simon Holmstrom for the one goal and 1 assist. 🐐, Noah Dobson -2 1 shot on goal. Ilya Sorokin was solid in goal. Those loser points may bite them in the tail if they're still in playoff contention. Bad news for the Islanders. Mike Reilly will be out for an indefinite period of ⏲️. Isiah George is still playing well. I still hope thru don't send that kid back to Bridgeport. Now, getting back to Brent Sutter, the ceremony isn't until January 18th against San Jose. I hope to 👀 his brother's number in the rafters right next to his someday. I also hope the current Islanders don't ruin it for them by losing. They better get it together, especially all those teams at 500 or better. HAPPY 🎂, MICHEL BERGERON. I do remember 👀 as a coach of the then Quebec Nordiques, who got the broom taken to them by the Islanders in 1982. If they're not in playoff contention, that would be a good time for Lou Lamoriello to start retooling. Hear from you later, Gil, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

    • @LockedOnIslanders
      @LockedOnIslanders  Місяць тому

      Yes, the Isles did sweep Bergeron's Nords. Also very happy for Brent Sutter but want to see LaFontaine in there as well. Reilly has been struggling this season but hopefully, he will return to form when he's healthy again. George has played well in the meantime and I'm glad for him. thanks for the comment, Cindy. Always great to hear from you. LGI.

    Just an unlucky goal with the goalie pulled. I actually though Hutton was in good position. I don' t think there was a defensive breakdown, just on the wrong side of puck luck again but if this team can hang until they can get some players back it could be character building which could help later in the year. Isiah George had me out of my seat in O/T. How nice would that have been?

    • @LockedOnIslanders
      @LockedOnIslanders  Місяць тому

      Would have loved to see George end it. He's a solid player who will hopefully fill in for as long as Reilly is out. There was some bad puck luck, but to give up two goals in the final 4:29 of regulation is not good and it happens too often. Thanks for the comment, Philip. LGI.

    Another blown lead, I don't get why they can't shut it down with a lead, that Isaiah George kid is a keeper, I hope they keep him in the line up

      George does look good. Smart with the puck, but still has some things to learn. I like what I've seen so far. The blown leads are a problem and they have been for too long. Thanks for the comment, GM-ri4ww. LGI

    Why is Engvall even in the NHL, can anyone explain , bring in the Future, it’s obvious that the past is not working, young youthful players, they had the game Won and lost, but if you look the oilers aren’t playing much better or worse, go figure ? Thank you Gil great job !!!!

    • @LockedOnIslanders
      @LockedOnIslanders  Місяць тому +1

      Engvall can be a useful bottom six player in the NHL. Not a great one, but useful. The Isles have too many similar players though and you can't have more than one or two of these guys on the team. The team does need to get younger and faster and more skilled but Lou keeps doubling down on the same old guys. Thanks for the comment and the kind words, Raymond. LGI.

    Okay so they blow another lead with new players and no matter who they put on the ice over the last few years they continue to blow leads. So you would have to say its the system they are playing, and as you have said before the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Same with the penalty kill same thing over and over same result. Ownership its time for a change!!!!!!
