Oh boy ... 🔥💎🔥 .. this is one of my songs Saeed. I have a good friend who asks me to play and sing this one often My friend can harmonize very well, so it always sounds great. This was a nice surprise .. thank you. 🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀
Neil Diamond has written and performed some of the most memorable songs in recorded history. Besides "Sweet Caroline", he has some deeply moving songs like "I Am I Said", "Holly Holy", "Solitary Man", "Love on the Rocks", "America" and many more.
Thank you, Saeed... glad you and others got to see this. Neil is the consummate storyteller through song, with his rich baritone voice conveying his own lyrics. The songs he writes are beyond many... Song Sung Blue, I Am...I Said, Holly Holy, Brother Loves Travelling Salvation Show, Forever In Bluejeans, Solitary Man, September Morn, America, Beautiful Noise, Cherry Cherry....I could go on forever, and these don't even scratch the surface of his greatest hits. He has 32 studio albums, 8 live albums, 35 compilation albums, and 2 soundtracks. His concerts were always huge sellouts of massive arenas and stadiums. Unfortunately, now at 83, Neil suffers from Parkinson's. Shirley, at 87, can still powerhouse a song, although she doesn't do any touring anymore. Saw her live several times when she visited the U.S. in the 70s, and all I can tell you is... the woman didn't need a microphone. Audiences loved her. There's one quintessential song in particular I'll send you which is fabulous. Thanks for a great reaction!
Thanks Saeed. Never saw this before. "Play Me" and "I am, I Said" are my favorite Neil Diamond songs, but never knew he did a duet with Dame Shirley...so passionate, so sexy....so real. Simply stunning.
Neil is best live. His facial expressions and body language just convey the story so well. He did some acting ( the jazz singer). He shows so much emotion in everything he does, you can just feel it.
You gotta hit the classic hit "Goldfinger" by Shirley Bassey. It was the title song to a James Bond movie, and was produced by George Martin -- who was the genius producer for virtually all The Beatles recordings.
This performance made my day, it was phenomenal. One of the best in my 60 yrs listening to music. Two of the greatest singers ever. It was apparent with the look in their eyes it was more than a duet. Thank you, much appreciated.
Story was Shirley was asked if she fell in love with Neil Diamond during this performance. She replied that she fell in love with his Diamond necklace. She could have the necklace…..🔥❤️💎
Thank you Saeed for the reaction. My father loved Shirley Bassey. She is awesome. She is welsh, like Bonnie Tyler. Such a small country, with 2 amazing female voices. Big kiss. Ana
Shirley Bassey - "This Is My Life" at the Royal Albert Hall, London 1973. This performance encapsulates what she is all about, as does "I Who Have Nothing" 1979 Show #4.
This may be my favorite Neil Diamond song (though that sometimes changes based on the song I'm listening to). The words strike me as so powerful. I, too, am also struck by the words about "doing someone wrong" and the punishment for that act. He is a fantastic songwriter. I would only add that you may want to find a slightly up-tempo, solo version of this great song. It was produced and orchestrated for a duet for this show. It has a different feel when he sings it alone. Also, check out "I am, I said."
If you enjoyed this one, you will really like his full album called "Johnathan Livingston Seagull" - but you have to listen to it straight through because it is a story that he wrote and composed and is absolutely amazing. Turn down the lights, put on the headphones, stretch out and relax, and let Johnathan Livingston Seagull take you away on a journey!
You should react to Shirley Bassey who sang 3 James Bond themes songs. Her best one was 'Goldfinger' followed by 'Diamonds Are Forever'. She is about 87 now and sounds much the same as she did when these songs came out.
I have a long playlist of Neil Diamond. Obviously I get bopping with the song Do It which is from his earlier years. I sing along, loud! With many others along his career... and for the life of I fail remembering the titles. Perhaps because there are many....lol!
I love both of them! Grew up listening to my parents' record collection. Thanks mum and dad! Thanks Saeed ❤ I recommend Shirley's cover of 'Something' by George Harrison/The Beatles and 'Big Spender' - two complete contrasts. Also, 'I Who Have Nothing'. They're my favourites. 😊
one of my fav neil songs. nvr seen vis duet. mmm tink ves 2 need a rm n sme privacy, another fav is neils first hit solitary man in v mid 60s. yeah was a lot of chemistry on v stage, tin he realy liked shirlies long last note.
Where guys if you don't do anything wrong to us we're always friends forever we don't have to call we don't have to write each other notes but when we see each other again we just know we're still friends
Dame Shirley Bassey is the only artist to be asked to record the theme for THREE James Bond films. Her biggest hit was the 1965 hit "Goldfinger." It was recorded in 1964 when she was 27 years old. On this video, recorded at The BRIT Awards show in 2011, Shirley Bassey performs the Theme from Goldfinger...at the age of 74!!! You really should do a reaction to this. It'll blow you away! I've cued it up for you to the right spot in the video: ua-cam.com/video/-orFtcORyuM/v-deo.htmlsi=Ce9Xu_NKX8QTWnCB&t=62
Hey Saeed, you should check out Dame Shirley's collabs with electro pioneers Yello -The Rhythm Divine (1987) and with The Propeller Heads - History Repeating (1997) or her cover of Pink - Get The Party Started (2007).
Love the look that comes out of Neil Diamond's beautiful eyes. I once looked into eyes like that years ago.❤
Oh boy ... 🔥💎🔥 .. this is one of my songs Saeed. I have a good friend who asks me to play and sing this one often My friend can harmonize very well, so it always sounds great. This was a nice surprise .. thank you. 🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀
They worked so well together ❤
Amazing performance!
Do not remember seeing this duet of the two!
Beautiful the two of them engaging, look at her dreamy big eyes!!
Love Neil Diamond! His voice is amazing!
Thanks Donna, very good. Love Shirley and Neil. I'll add that both are still with us. 💙

I am familiar with the song, because of the films. Maybe i should revisit it or find a great live version
@@SaeedReacts.The live version is awesome. She's a figure!😊

Neil does a duet with Barbra Streisand with the song You Don’t Bring Me Flowers Anymore
Story was Shirley was asked if she fell in love with Neil Diamond during this performance. She replied that she fell in love with his Diamond necklace. She could have the necklace…..🔥❤️💎
You really need to hear "Love On The Rocks" .. by Neil Diamond. It was a song , and a movie ----- much for you to absorb. Enjoy 🎼
Thank you Saeed for the reaction. My father loved Shirley Bassey. She is awesome. She is welsh, like Bonnie Tyler. Such a small country, with 2 amazing female voices. Big kiss. Ana

Great tune! More Shirley Bassey coming today.
@SaeedReacts. Excellent 👌🏻👌🏻
iYou are definitely not alone in that sentiment. Especially when someone just drops out of your life without any explanation.
I have a long playlist of Neil Diamond.

Funny fact/coincidence...Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand were classmates in Highschool

One of the BEST performances on UA-cam. (copy and Paste) "Shirley Bassey "Goldfinger" - Live at Royal Albert Hall, 1974."

Well ok then lol. Can we talk about the 'Chemistry'? Smouldering duet to say the least lol. Wow very intense lol. Great reaction Saeed...as per usual

Other beautiful songs by him are Stones, For My Children, Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Play Me and I Am, I Said are two of my favorite songs by Neil Diamond. This duet was beautiful, but I prefer Neil alone on that song.
