This is my guy! Every song he has ever written is just perfection. I saw him in concert in 1997. That man was on stage for two and a half hours. He left it all out there for us! What a showman. "And so it was, he came to travel, upon a road that was thorned and narrow..." I miss him so much, hope he is happy. Thank you Harri!
Beautiful tune from Neil's 1972 " Moods" album, this beautiful duet was from Shirley's 1974 Festive TV special. Quite a steamy performance, the chemistry between them was palpable for millions viewing it on TV. Neil's addictive vocals so well matched with Shirley's beautiful tone, making a lovely performance with great orchestral accompaniment. Shirley was the first Welsh person to have Number 1 single on the UK single charts. Great reaction Handsome Harri ❤❤ Great memory Cynthia❤👏👏 Cheers from Canada ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦
@@laug66 I absolutely loved his recordings late 60s early 70s. He actually drove from I believe the Bronx NY to an amusement park in Wilkes Barre PA,late 60s. Tickets I believe were 2 bucks.😃
Neil was married at the time to his second wife, Marcia. I've never seen this, and thank you, Harri, and the requester. Great reaction to a great video.
Great performance. Great song. Enjoyed your reaction. Neil Diamond still tries to perform when he can, but he's limited as he now suffers from Parkinson's disease. (diagnosed in 2018)
Cynthia, I haven't seen this in so long, and it still holds up easily. They made for a sensual, beautiful duet. What an outstanding submission choice and a heated review by our host, Harri. 🔥🔥🔥
I saw this fantastic video a few weeks ago, so beautiful. Two great singers, they may have dated and kept it under wraps. Sooooo much chemistry. Absolutely loved this video!!!!
My fave version…very steamy! Gorgeous humans. ❤❤ I think all we gals loved Neil ❤ reminds me of Kris Kristopherson and Rita Coolidge duet Help Me Make It Through The Night, it was like soft porn back then 😂…whew!
What a pair, you would think there were madly in love, but as you said just from the looks. Thank you for the great reaction Harri, I think I need a cold shower. 😂😂
Such sizzling chemistry! With those super-tight slacks on, I was kinda worried that Neil's "affection" for her would become undeniable. LOL. (Sorry for being so vulgar. 🙂 ) Both Shirley and Neil look and sound stunning! What an amazing performance. Thanks, Harri and Cynthia.
FWIW, if 1972, this was recorded during Shirley Bassey's 2nd marriage, 1968-79. Diamond was also in his 2nd marriage, 1969-1996. Wiki is source. It's of its time. From now, the lyrics are so overdone and implying as to be obvious, Diamond's moves are trashy and his clothes are gaudy. I bet a lot more babies were made to Barry White.
Sorry , didn't get the connection......her voice was a bit too high pitch to Neil's for me. No doubt there were some sparks flowing there though...yikes !

@agnetesorensenelbom5085 Thanks, Agnete. 🙋♀️🙋♀️🌹🌹
I have watched this performance many times because it is so very precious and they both sing so beautifully. Thank you for your reaction.
I haven’t heard this in many years and I certainly have never seen it done like this! What a stunning performance! Thanks Harri and Cynthia 🌸💐✌️
Thank you Debbie, they sing so well together.
Shirley was a phenomenal performer, often goes unremarked what a great singer Neil was, this was a great reaction vid!

One of the greatest performances in my 60 yrs listening to music. Also they looked great 👍. Shirleys looks were intoxicating 😍🤩

So sad, did not know that 😢😥😊
That's so sad. My father experienced that cruel disease. So hoping a cure can be found soon.
Harri, you always bring out the best in the videos that you react to.
Neil Diamond is one of the better selling solo artists, with over 130 million records sold.
I do not know what sort of relationship ND and SB had off camera but they had me convinced!
She looks look close to 70 in this video. She'd probably have a heart attack.

Harri has reacted to the studio version of this by Neil alone

Oh Marcus, I thought of that too. Pretty daring to wear such a tight outfit. 😂 Glad you enjoyed it.
Maybe that is why he turned around. hahaha
@@Cynthia...LOL 😂😂😂

If you like duets, how about reacting to Donovan & Crystal Gayle singing "Catch The Wind" ? It isn't as steamy as this one but it is a great duet.
