Last time I played an anti grav racer was with wipeout, and I’ve been having a blast with Redout 2 on pc, it feels so smooth and satisfying yet it’s still really hard when starting out
Doesn't help that you are forced to start with ESA in Redout 2. In Redout 1, you could choose which team to start with and you didn't have to wait till you completed certain events to unlock any of the others. You could unlock any them at any point during your career mode playthrough if the team you chose wasn't working out for you. Certainly happened with me because I started with ASERA but then switch over to K-werth, who I noticed I generally liked how they handle more.
I will buy this game. I purchased the first one shortly after it released. It's a nice game, but I never finished it. It's so frustrating to drive, it's really hard to not hit the walls.
It looks like Wipeout when I played it on PSX many years ago. It's great that Redout 2 will be free on Epic Games, so I'll definitely check out the game.

Nah, I still prefer Wipeout series. There was also a game called Rollcage which was freaking awesome. And the new generation of Rollcage - Grip was actually very well done, I like it a lot. But Redout... nah, not my cup of tea.
As a PC gamer who has played around with FPS and resolution settings a lot over the years I don't understand this 4k 60fps benchmark. 4k is a higher resolution than most people can see on most televisions, and 60fps isn't really that impressive. I think a better and more applicable benchmark would be 1440p resolution and 120 fps.
the HDR is certainly bugged right now, like the menus and UI not being HDR while the ships and the stages are. Once UA-cam finishes processing the HDR on this video (which is taking forever) it will look a lot better on HDR displays
Once you get the hang of it its a really good game But visual clarity can be really poor at times Which contributes to some of the jumps being extremely cheap and bs until you memorize them by heart
I thought PS5 would at least look close to the PC version. But this version doesn't have that sheen I'm used to and things see a bit more dull. Is this like a color blind mode or something? Or is PS5 really that behind?
PS5’s are the most up to date consoles on the market rn almost solely because they have a built in ssd (though that means nothing in terms of AV quality. I would not be surprised if you have a custome PC that runs games better than a ps5
@@loremastre6682We are good for another 5-6 years, at least. Unreal 5 games are just now showing up. Games like Spider-Man 2 are also just starting to show what is possible on a PS5. We’re good. :)
Late response, but the game doesn’t look at all this dull, and with bland washed out color. It’s extremely polished and very vivid. This is an error with HDR being enabled with recording the footage. Perhaps a bug in the encoding on UA-cams’s end. Just check out the official trailer. It’s a beautiful looking game.
Somehow, all these years later F-ZERO GX for the GameCube STILL looks faster than this....not sure how they did it, but I've played A LOT of racing games. And the only thing that comes close to the speed of that is Burnout revenge for the Xbox 360.... And it's still not that close tbh Edit: also, where's the loops?? Even for zero from 2001 had loops....this just goes left to right, left to right, barrel roll for dramatic effect....boooooring 🥱
look up "redout mars boss" and "redout neptune boss" to see some of the crazier tracks from the first game, should be more than enough loops and topsy turvy stuff for you. I have no doubt the devs are gonna have some insane circuits in this installment
This level is part of the tutorial Look up the later tracks from the first Redout, and I think you’ll see the sense of speed and as many loops as you could handle.
Game has some insane tracks that will challange the heck out of you. You’re just watching it, anyone can do that but when you pick up the controller and play for your self and are able to feel the rush of 2000+ KM/H while pitching and strafing and piloting your ship over intense large gaps mixed with loops and track transfers, I’m sorry but this blows fzero out of the water. There’s so much going on here, boosts, hyper boosts, landing boosts, launcher boosts, and each of these boosts stack, it’s unique to redout 2, fzero doesn’t have this at all. There’s even environmental conditions that will effect how you race, low gravity, anti gravity, under water racing, hot environments that will over heat your ship faster, cold environments that will cool down your ship but will cause you to slide, the racing in this game is skill based compared to any other racer out there. This is like the dark souls of racing. I encourage you to try it because just watching the gameplay on UA-cam doesn’t tell the entire story until you play it for yourself because I promise you redout2 is not easy and it’s not your average anti gravity racer.
@@scarletdreams4228 yeah I'm a redout veteran and I can say that this is better than fzero gx and I unlocked even the ax cars in that game. I just made to s class in career mode. Even when you play it on easy it's a challenge.
