This video so good I just did 5 years in prison and my therapist recommended this for me I suffer from aniexty and ptsd lot so this video help me out lot thank you
When I was growing up I had insomnia, my Mother told me to do this on nights where it was extra hard for me to sleep. She didn't know it was called "progressive muscle relaxation" or anything but somehow she knew this was good for me.
This video was suggested by my theripist to help releave anxiety. It does work and definitely more noticeable the more you do it. I do it everyday. Thank you for the video 😊
I practice this exercise with my clients often who deal with anxiety and anger challenges. They've mentioned often how helpful it is and how they didn't realize how they were carrying tension in different parts of their bodies. Thank you for creating this!!💚💚💚
Agree. Thank you from me too. I just tried it just now, and it really works. I felt like a vegetable when I was done (in the best way possible of course 😉).
Thank you so much for this. I am in a constant battle with insomnia and anxiety. I have tense muscles all the time. This exercise helps me to really relax my body and all the tensions I have. I truly believe this will help me in the long term. Thank you 🙏🏻
Absolutely amazing !! Exams make me anxious that I couldn't study properly due to anxiety and before I study I tried this out my body is feeling so calm its unbelievable
It works better starting from top to bottom and at the end the entire body. And you take yourself some place nice you visualize loved ones around you. Every thing is beautiful, you're in a peaceful place.
I was suggested this to help with my anxiety and insomnia. This is the 2nd time I've tried it. I was skeptical at first but I do think it works if you give it a proper try.
Thank you. so. much. for this instructional video! It definitely reduced my feeling of anxiety and discomfort.. Been having panic attacks recently so hopefully this will help ease the symptoms. I try to make relaxing videos and music for people like us, so do let me know if they help at all :)
This is my 1st time listening to your relaxation of muscles .I may have to do it again this evening..definitely released some of the anxiety, but think I need another round. Wil start practicing daily. Thsnk you
This may be called progressive muscle relaxation (trendy name), but It's one of many basic yoga relaxation techniques. Been teaching yoga, and this particular relaxation and other relaxation techniques for many years.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation is not a trendy name, nor a new practice. PMR was developed by Dr. Edmund Jacobson in 1922. He published "Progressive Relaxation" in 1938. Yoga has origins as old as Sanskrit itself, but (and I could be wrong, I am not a yoga instructor or expert) I believe that Yoga Nidra is the closest to PMR, and those origins were documented in the 1960s by Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Regardless of which origins are older, PMR took a practice and hypothesis, and gave it scientific and clinical efficacy 100 years ago (hardly "trendy"). Jacobson is responsible for PMR, and its very much not trendy name, reaching countless more souls than would have otherwise. Additionally, by starting peer reviewed, longitudinal, quantitative, and qualitative studies - as well as forming the Smith scale - PMR has allowed this type of exercise to be recommended, prescribed, and taught to those who otherwise would not have had the means or knowledge for decades, and has forced our broken capitalistic healthcare system to pay for it (but not Yoga). I would say neither PMR, nor Yoga, deserve to be slighted as "trendy" or have their value decreased.
ah I have PTSD, Generalized Anxiety and recently anxiety overwhelming again leading to extreme depression... I had not Hear of this before. I shall put it too use.
great video, I love the video which is perfect for supporting relaxation. I prefer it to ones that show someone in a chair talking through it (even though your eyes are supposed to be closed during the exercise, sometimes my eyes open and I much prefer these visuals.
I feel like ive tensed before but never to a point of calmingness and deep breaths which i normally suck at lol but i truely feel the release, my body is tense asf. Shoulders and the lot i also strated to press on the trapezius point to get that TIGHTNESS to BEGONEtHOT
The only problem with this is that you say "breathe in and notice the air filling your lungs". Most people only breathe with the top of their torso, which is shallow breathing. As a mindfulness meditation volunteer-teacher, I prefer breathing into my lungs AND tnen my abdomen.
OOOOO it seems like a few of us are here because this video was suggested by our therapist 👏
too real lmao
Lmao fax
The muscle relaxation starts at 0:47
