TRIP REPORT | First Time on Korean Air | Singapore to Vienna (via Seoul) | KOREAN AIR Boeing 777

- Korean Air Trip Report flying from Singapore to Vienna (via Seoul-Incheon Airport), onboard a Korean Air Boeing 777, on a beautiful day all across Asia and Europe.
My first time flying with Korean Air and it was such a huge trip: almost 23 hours since boarding in Singapore until disembarking in Vienna. In between, the amazing Terminal 4 of Singapore-Changi airport, a 6-hour flight from Singapore to Seoul, my first time at Seoul-Incheon airport, and a 13-hour flight from Seoul to Vienna.
Our journey started at midnight in Singapore. After a fascinating tour of Singapore-Changi Terminal 4, we boarded and departed on time for the first Boeing 777 of the journey. The first half of the flight was during the night, but from then we enjoyed a great sunrise over the MAR DE LA CHINA MERIDIONAL. The approach and landing in Seoul were really beautiful.
The layover at Seoul-Incheon airport lasted around 4 hours. We didn't get out of Terminal 2 so we had plenty of time to explore it from side to side. The planespotting, although mainly about Korean Air, was amazing, including B747, A380, B777, A330, B787... really worth the time of walking all the terminal.
We took off on time from Seoul and set course towards China. We flew over Tianjin, south of Beijing, and Taiyuan. From there we made a right turn and set course towards northwestern China. We entered Kazakhstan and crossed it completely from east to west, until reaching the Caspian Sea. Flew over Azerbaijan, Turkiye, the Black Sea, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary, and, finally, we landed in Vienna on time,
About the onboard service: on the 1st flight they served a warm breakfast. There were 2 options: omelet or fish. What a surprise, the majority wanted omelet. When they arrived to me they didn't have more omelet. Since I hate fish, they offered me the most disgusting hot dog I've ever seen. Judge by yourselves.
On the 2nd flight, things were much better: just after takeoff the lunch was served with Asian and European options. I went for the beef and I must say it was really good. Also the dessert and the salad were pretty tasty. A great lunch, to be fair. Around 7 hours into the flight they offered a chicken with vegetabkes sandwich which was delicious. Probably the best sandwich on a plane so far for me.
Around 2 hours before landing the dinner was offered. In this case, the options were fish or a typical Korean-style beef with rice cake. None sounded good to me but I chose the second one. Well, it was just not for me. The worst food I ever had on a plane... but because of myself. The food was looking good... but I didn't like it. At all.

2nd meal from Seoul to Vienna was typical Korean meal with the healthy and famous kimchi
From my experience most airlines have lackluster catering when not departing from their hubs, and unfortunately that seems to be the case with KE as well.
Love their livery and service though.
All in all, one big point of improvement for KE definitely is to step up their hard product, at least making it more standardized across their fleet. You got unlucky and got the old configuration 777 on both flights 😢

WOW. Airports are now botanical gardens/art museums/malls! Everything you could want😊 Love Korean Air especially the well dressed professional crews. Some American crews have gotten too casual/sloppy dressed. Awesome snow covered mountains & the lacy look of the melting snow paths. I've flown Korean Air several times. In my opinion they deserve the 5 stars rating.
For Asian people I'm sure it has to be a great airline. For me, personally, it's a 4 stars one.

Nice video. Huge like. I flew twice with Korean Air. They really have legroom advantage in economy (i m 6.2 feet high). In 2016, i took the A380 for CDG/ICN route and last year with the B747-8I...both aircrafts are spacious and comfy. I flew until manila in both occasions...they also used the 77W for this route. Ah last year, i took the non-ER variant from ICN to Manila.

Love it and speaking of that 2-3-2 Prestige Class configuration if you're a family of 6-7 you take the entire row leaving the middle seat to be a random passenger. On the B777-200er KE086 December 18th 2006 I had the aisle side Korean Businessman was on the middle seat

Amazing flight! I like that there are 2 flights in 1 video and of course 777. I think 777-300 has got the best wing view ever, especially from the back, don't you think so? Yeah, I flyed Air Korea once and it's food is really disappointing . Looking forward to next Saturday's morning 😄😄

Last time I flow with Rya nail was in May 2018 to Germany,Spain and Italy.They are a pretty good airline..

This must be in the top 10 of best trip reports on this channel. I don't know why exactly. But the beautiful terminals, the vast and busy air sides, the amazing sunrise, the frequent walks in the plane, the desert and beautiful snowy mountain views from above..... made it almost feel like I was there.
I had a good laugh about the food. As I saw how it looked like, I knew it can't be delicious, and certainly not in the air where humans have reduced taste.

The food was... well not my cup of tea :DD
You can't tell the taste of something just by how it looks. I've flown KE numerous times in the past 5 months, and their food is some of the best in the sky. The only thing that surprised me was the hot dog. But everything else, similar to what I've had on my own flights with KE, actually looked GREAT.
More than anything, I think it's just a difference of culture. The fact that OnBoardHD didn't know what pickled/cultured korean cabbage is, aka kim chi...tells me he really is a westerner LoL. I mean, who in the world does not know what kim chi is?! But again, that tells me his tastes, and probably yours, are heavily biased in favour of western cuisine.
But personally I would much rather have the asian options on KE as compared to what I get from Air France and KLM. Korean gives not only more food, but in my opinion, *much* better tasting as well. To each their own.
I don't like the food of KLM neither. 😂😂😂
Beside neutral things like bread with cheese or marmelade.

Absolutely, it gives a lot more space.
Fish for breakfast is typical for asian flights,but a Hot Dog instead hmm not my style either. As a german i prefer bread with jam or ham. Well if nothing else is available i prefer fish of course.

Starter of the dish was Kimchi. Korean style beef I think was bulgogi. I think so anyways plane dishes are always different compared to a dish at an actual restaurant 😊😅

You have the local time of departure on the initial screen I put on every video. Something around the first 20-30 seconds of the video.
But I can try to add it in the future, if I remember it...
You can look on the airline before flying and see what the meals are, and you could have asked for a special meal ,if you dont like what is on offer 😊

I think the food offered especially on the first flight was a bit strange.....Also I've heard JAL is really good flying in economy
JAL and ANA are definitely on the wish list. ANA is almost confirmed on the A380, JAL for now is just a plan. :))

basically all routes those 747s are domestic flight in mainland China . But some times Air China will use both 747-400 and 747-8 in PEK-JFK AND PEK-NRT routes .@@OnBoardHD

I think if I was in Singapore, a city I love to visit, there is only one airline I would want to fly back to Europe (UK) on and that would be Singapore Airlines.
Singapore Airlines is a great airline, that's for sure, among the best in the world. However, there are some better out there in my opinion :)
I think starter of second meal on Vienna flight is Kimchi.
