I remember when you first took over the blog and you felt weird saying “Good morning Beautiful people!” And now you sound so natural saying it. Good job!
Loved seeing your family at the Family Table, those boy's are going to be well prepared for life. You kid's are doing a great job raising your children. Ben looks so relaxed. Have fun at HOA!!!
Hi Meg and Ben 🤔just us 2 saying hi 👋 and thanks for sharing this video with us 🇬🇧👍one thing we can say you look after your family very well 😀 keep safe say well and enjoy your lifestyle 👍 sue and den 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚌🚌🚌
We had a mean one year old rooster that we processed recently. We put him in the smoker and he was tough as nails. So then we put him in the instant pot for 45 minutes and the meat was falling off the bones! He made some amazing mushroom chicken noodle soup! Give it a shot sometime!
I just love seeing the whole combination of Meg doing her thing in the kitchen and Ben doing work outside and then to see the family sit down and have dinner together is the best ending of a good family film. I'm a foodie, so I'm sucked in when Meg's cooking. I also lo e to see the world being done outside. That's why the two combinations are perfect.. I just repeated myself- old age. Lol
Hi..... Meg and Ben and nice to see you all love watching your videos, thank you for showing your video homestead chicken Duck farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🐖🌱🌺🌹🌿🌻🌼🌸🌷🍀🏡🎥👍👍👍
😆 your microphone looks like 1970's shag carpet. That's pretty sad, lol. Those tacos looked delicious. Your daughter is naturally funny, that's a good part of her character. Enjoyed the video, though I wish it was longer. Love you all, Brenda.
OMG, Ladybug has become such a radiant sunshine, made me smile all the way through the video, bless her! Have a nice time over there, stay safe and well;)))
I feel for Meg, canning is alot of work. Good to see all the kids. Bug is so cute and getting so big! You should name the pretty red chicken Reba McIntire. Lol. Take care 💕
Especially when you can say my family did every bit of the work to produce that! All the way to the smell lol and storing it away! That is a big accomplishment!!
Thanks for sharing. Thinking of all of you Homesteaders head to VA for the conference...looking forward to content, as I live vicariously through you here in California. 💚
Pepper prep time! Yes, getting things set up for chicken sitters is a good idea. I hope you guys have a wonderful time at the HOA Conference. I'll be watching from my computer. I had family visiting for two weeks so I'm just catching up on you guys now. Dehydrated peppers ground up, sounds great. Those raised beds you rototilled look fantastic Ben. Lots or preserving! Thanks for talking about all the methods you are using to put away your harvest Megan. Great tacos!
I love that you all sit down as a family to eat and that you pray. That is some great parenting right there! It was great seeing you all this weekend at HOA. Too bad I didn't see this video in time to stop by the booth. I have missed out on your soap the last two times you offered them for sale online because they sell out so quickly. Safe travels! God Bless! Carmen
Hey Ben, Rev Paul Eustis Florida those old chickens we used the for pot pies, chicken & rice stew, chicken dumplings, jerk chicken (Jamaican dish) love y’all in Christ Jesus amen hallelujah
I think your homestead is looking pretty darn good! I love how you have organized your gardens....the whole place is looking loved and cared for.! You have come a long way.....and in a good way :)
The boys are getting so grown up... I think seeing your older boys made me realize how long I’ve been watching you guys. Love your videos, mad respect for what you have accomplished with your property and home. God Bless🙏🏻🇺🇸👊🏻
Ditto to all you said. It has been fun watching the boys grow up. It amazes me how different Bug is from the boys. They are so quiet and she is so vocal. They are all so sweet!
My mom had a few Buff Orpingtons that kept their flock going for a few generations. Every fall we’d have “chicken rodeo” and butcher all the rosters that had hatched out. They were mainly pot pie material but they ate! (I realize this all makes me sound old but I promise I’m only in my twenties 😆) Incidentally Orpingtons are also supposed to make a decent table bird so we’ve added them to our flock for flock security and better meat builds in the event we can’t by chicken from the store of a hatchery.
When your family sits down for your meal it reminds me so much of my childhood there was 6 of us siblings mealtime was one of my favorite memories I'm truly glad to see youns back on here Meg you are so happy and living your dream im so happy for you God bless you all
I made pickled Nadapena peppers, added some pickle crisp to make them crunchy. Like you, I put up a great amount of peppers also. Love seeing the garden cleaned and ready for next year. Loved to hear the beautiful noises in the background while you are talking. Lilly is growing so much. More family working together videos!!!
I am soo proud of you and your whole family ‼️. Best thing that you guys ever did moving out of the rat race to this beautiful homestead ❤️🇺🇸🙏👍 God Bless💖
Wow, that is a lot peppers, Meg the pepper lady ;) . That is hilarious, sorry Meg but I laughed so hard when Ben went over to the mirror and showed us the mic. We all have those oopsie moments, it'a all good ;) you're still awesome
My favorite Family of U-tubers. God Bless your work as you grow your family. The two older boys are growing up so fast, not little anymore. Teach them all you can about God now, as they will be out of the nest before you know it. Love to watch. ✝️ ❤
The easy way to clear off your trellis is to pull the plant roots out of the ground. In a week or so, everything left on the trellis will be crispy and easy to pull off.
you two are amazing , living off the land. and your kids help. there is a lot of energy being self sustaining I commend the two of you !!!!! what a great year you are having !!!!!!
Just chiming in to say that I like it too, tho I also totally understand if folks want to keep them private &/or not subject them to potential negative comments !
When the leaves fall and you mow to clean up, take those ground leaves and spread them on your beds, sea weed from lakes or the ocean on top of the leaves and let the worms take all the goodness down into the soil. Worms love coffee grounds too, not fresh grounds, we sprinkle all our used grounds on the beds too. Makes those worms fat and happy
Ben you should make a Hatch Chili Roaster. Look on Amazon. I KNOW you could make it. 😁👍 Always enjoy your family 😊 You are all such hard workers...a beautiful thing to see.
Your garden beds look really great! Such a difference from when you first started. Everything is so fertile! I love our overcast days as well. A sprinkle FINALLY happened just north of Sacramento this week! It has become chilly... but nice for working outside. Have fun❣
The best way to add to your flock when they have not grown up together is to move them when they are sleeping. Putting the new flock in with the old flock that way makes a more peaceful transition.
I remember when you first took over the blog and you felt weird saying “Good morning Beautiful people!” And now you sound so natural saying it. Good job!
I love how you pray and eat as a family. We did that with our kids. It's very important to talk about your days.
Loved seeing your family at the Family Table, those boy's are going to be well prepared for life. You kid's are doing a great job raising your children. Ben looks so relaxed. Have fun at HOA!!!

Love how you film prayer at table silently. Blessings to you.
Meg, where do you store everything? Do you have several freezers somewhere? You are a preserving queen! And Buggy is so gorgeous!
We had a mean one year old rooster that we processed recently. We put him in the smoker and he was tough as nails. So then we put him in the instant pot for 45 minutes and the meat was falling off the bones! He made some amazing mushroom chicken noodle soup! Give it a shot sometime!
I love that even lil buggy is included in dinner prayers. Bless yall in all endeavors.

Haha! More than once hubby has had to dig a toy or a ball out of his boots courtesy of a toddler. Y'all have fun and drive safe!
Loved the family prayer at the table. :-)
I love learning even more about chickens. They're my spirit animal. 🐓🐔🐣🐤
A family that eats together, prays together, works together… STAYS together!

Hey Ben, Rev Paul Eustis Florida those old chickens we used the for pot pies, chicken & rice stew, chicken dumplings, jerk chicken (Jamaican dish) love y’all in Christ Jesus amen hallelujah
I'm in Oxford Fl. 😃
My roosters we butchered had very rubbery skin. So we ate them skinless. They were tough , so I brine them before cooking and it helped immensely!
I think your homestead is looking pretty darn good! I love how you have organized your gardens....the whole place is looking loved and cared for.! You have come a long way.....and in a good way :)
Oh I miss my baby girl when she was that little! I miss all my kids when they were that little. Enjoy it guys. Thanks for sharing
