Adler was never Bell's friend. He was just using Bell for CIA's purpose. The American ending serves the purpose of showing that CIA is a fucked up organization
In that situation, the best thing they can do it’s just create fake death for Bell to be honest. But overall bad ending still better, from what Bell have been through to the end when Russians still welcomed you is way more satisfied than sticking to CIA after known the truth and discarded by them.

The devs put more work into making the detonation ending more "satisfying" than the other and it's evidenced by how both levels differ. The good ending is quite short, and has no unique big fight. Unlike the other where you're pitted against your former team. Then there's also the part where bell gets to give the order to detonate the nukes. So it's clearly meant to be the more fun ending out of the 2(3 if you didn't setup ambush).
I'm surprised by how extreme the betrayal ending was. It's really cool that they not only put an evil ending in, but made it go so far. The names changing color instantly was also an amazing touch.

At the start, follow Adler's description, pick up the M16, follow the path on the right, kill a group of VC and then Adler will talk about hearing soviet voices from a cave. There will be a statue to the right of the cave entrance near the base of the state there will be a bamboo hatch. Open it and climb down.

A game that strictly focuses on a German force is just not gonna be as appealing as one with Muricans. If you were referring to a WW2 game that revolves around the German's Pov, I don't think any AAA company right now has the balls to do that because Twitter unfortunate stuff. BF5 putting in one mission where you play as a German was already like playing with fire.

They made the Russian ending much more satisfying than the “good” ending, at least you and Adler take each other out in the end but I still feel like they should’ve given us the option to spartan kick that asshole off a ledge

The player actually being Perseus the entire time without Adler's team realizing it would've been a pretty clever twist if you changed some dialogue. Adler was desperately hunting the individual that was right next to him the whole time, and due to Adler's mind control shenanigans not even Perseus knew they were Perseus.

One thing that I really love about this campaign is that it actually goes that step further and let's you see what damage the enemy would have actually caused. They always say that the bad man will do bad thing, but when you never see it in any campaign you start to lose that idea of what's at stake. And nuking most of Europe works quite well to fix that I think

Fun little fact: in the mission where bells gets the injection stuff, next to the cave there’s this hatch, you fall down into a cave, where a bunch of zombies start attacking you, when I first played it it was like pitch dark and I wasn’t expecting it so I freaked out, pretty fun detail to the zombies mode.
