I always felt like the American ending to this game could've been made more fulfilling by having Adler spare you, showing that your friendship did actually end up mattering rather than being only artificial. He'd tell Bell that he was ordered to kill them, but refuse and let Bell disappear.
That would have been nicer, but lets be real, the alphabet letter soup agency wouldn't have let him go
Adler was never Bell's friend. He was just using Bell for CIA's purpose. The American ending serves the purpose of showing that CIA is a fucked up organization
In that situation, the best thing they can do it’s just create fake death for Bell to be honest.
But overall bad ending still better, from what Bell have been through to the end when Russians still welcomed you is way more satisfied than sticking to CIA after known the truth and discarded by them.

I love how the russian ending was more wholesome than the american one lmao
The devs pushed players to pursue that ending. I mean the whole setup was there. Nano, like many others chose it out of either curiosity or distrust for Adler. The devs put more work into making the detonation ending more "satisfying" than the other and it's evidenced by how both levels differ. The good ending is quite short, and has no unique big fight. Unlike the other where you're pitted against your former team. Then there's also the part where bell gets to give the order to detonate the nukes. So it's clearly meant to be the more fun ending out of the 2(3 if you didn't setup ambush).

Nano, you missed a secret in the Break on Through mission. At the start, follow Adler's description, pick up the M16, follow the path on the right, kill a group of VC and then Adler will talk about hearing soviet voices from a cave. There will be a statue to the right of the cave entrance near the base of the state there will be a bamboo hatch. Open it and climb down.
And what's next?

I'm surprised by how extreme the betrayal ending was. It's really cool that they not only put an evil ending in, but made it go so far. The names changing color instantly was also an amazing touch.

i really actually liked the soviet/bad ending, its something that not many games dare, especially cod games which is why i liked it,

@@Gr0undh Wait for how long? Because aside from movies from German PoVs, we don't have an authentic singleplayer shooter experience.
@@hunlepto2239 A modern shooter or one that takes place around 60-90s sounds like something that'll only come up if the game is made by a German studio or if it's a multiplayer game with multiple factions. A game that strictly focuses on a German force is just not gonna be as appealing as one with Muricans.
If you were referring to a WW2 game that revolves around the German's Pov, I don't think any AAA company right now has the balls to do that because Twitter unfortunate stuff. BF5 putting in one mission where you play as a German was already like playing with fire.

Also, love how a German campaign was always out of question in gaming history, yet Soviet campaigns were also allowed to use their own flag despite being as oppressive of a nation as Nazi Germany was and doing just as many war crimes aswell. Guess being the victor and at first oppressed makes one nation more right.

I bet you don't even know that USSR never commited genocide, unlike U.S., for example, they did that in Vietnam, killing millions of people, innocents, vietcong, and, at some degree - south vietnamese soldiers, sending them to fight against their own people in the north. In the past 30 years United States commited more war crimes and killed more people than any other country in the world, and it still remains the first one in the list of countries that committed interventions. What a democracy it is!

They made the Russian ending much more satisfying than the “good” ending, at least you and Adler take each other out in the end but I still feel like they should’ve given us the option to spartan kick that asshole off a ledge

They couldn't cover everything up, the files about the whole project were publicly released so they were screwed because the whole world was starting to see it was them who put the nukes there

One of the best details is how after you betray them, all their names turn red. That’s awesome.
They did this alot in the new mw2. My favorite example is that as the story progresses, a characters name (not gonna say who for spoiler reasons) goes from blue to yellow to red as they get more and more corrupt.

The player actually being Perseus the entire time without Adler's team realizing it would've been a pretty clever twist if you changed some dialogue.
Adler was desperately hunting the individual that was right next to him the whole time, and due to Adler's mind control shenanigans not even Perseus knew they were Perseus.
adler: "bell where is persius hiding?"
bell on the stretcher: "he's in this room."
adler: "what? what the hell are you talking about bell?!"
bell: *lifts up 1911*

One thing that I really love about this campaign is that it actually goes that step further and let's you see what damage the enemy would have actually caused. They always say that the bad man will do bad thing, but when you never see it in any campaign you start to lose that idea of what's at stake. And nuking most of Europe works quite well to fix that I think
