TOP 25 Nintendo 64 Games rated by Metacritic (30minutes)

In this episode we look at the top 25 N64 Games Rated by Metacritic. In order to get a mix of Metascore and UserScore, the Point was removed from the User Score. This makes it easier to calculate. So a 7.4 becomes a 74. The Metascore value is with 70% and the User Score with 30% calculated in the overall rating. I used the weighting because the user scores often assign the max or min ratings and are therefore less differentiated. So a game with 85 Metascore and 74 User Score had a rating of 81.7.
I hope that's somewhat understandable.

That was interesting. Though there was a few i was surprised didn't make it on there like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, none of the Mario Party games, none of the Bomberman games.

I was surprised too. But Mario Kart got a total of 83.6 with ratings of 83/85, placing it in 28th place.
Smash Bros. has an 86 user rating but only 79 "professional" MetaScore and so 81.1 in total and was just on 37th place. If it were purely user rated, they would even be in the top 20. 🤷‍♂️

​@@Retrospective-Gamesthis is really interesting, how on earth the guys at MetaCritic thought that the original Super Smash Bros. deserved a 79, when it was clearly a smash hit (pun intended) and one of the greatest games on the console by far.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw ISS 98 on this list, as much as I love the ISS series, not many gamers I know played it (they were all playing FIFA, which for me, at the time, was lacking in comparison to the ISS series)

Metacritic is just a collection of ratings from which they calculate an average.
