In this video, we did a short street food tour around Menteng, Jakarta, Indonesia.
We first ate one of our favorites, Ayam Bakar (Grilled Chicken) with Nasi Uduk (a staple rice dish from Jakarta). Then we finished the evening trying the famous Nasi Goreng Gila Gondrong Obama.

We do scoop our sambals with cucumber/veggies, some people who can't handle spicy food only dip it a bit, but as a person who like spicy food so much like me I'll scoop the sambal with my chicken meat/veggies/kerupuk, etc.
The difference between regular nasi goreng and nasi goreng gila is in regular nasi goreng they mix the topping with the rice and they usually cook it together, meanwhile in nasi goreng gila they separate it and the topping in nasi goreng gila usually "bigger" than regular nasi goreng, they mix everything in it like Rob said, they put chicken, sausage, meatballs, veggies, etec, that's why it's called "GILA" which literally mean crazy, because of it.

actually nasi uduk is origin from Yogyakarta. the recipe came from Sultan Agung, the 3rd Sultan of Mataram (1600 AC). nasi uduk is one of fav foods for Mataram's troops when they assult Dutch in Batavia (Jakarta) in 1628 AC and 1629 AC

I panicked when Antonio ordered the really spicy nasi goreng gila 😂 but I’m glad it wasn’t that spicy, nasi goreng gila can be really really spicy. Rob is right, its called “nasi goreng gila” because its really spicy and has a lot of stuff in it. And Cheyne for president!
