Hello Alex.I use the blackfish rubber stoppers between my fg and hook knot so my sinker just runs between them ..Cheap and stops sinker doing that.Large and x large sizes suit most line classes.stm tackle.cheers
Its amazing how common these big blueys are now. I'm a scuba diver we see them all the time in these spots. They are extremely common now. If you turn a sea urchin over for a groper, you'll have a new friend for life !
@@lauchlanguddy1004 - SPEARFISHING caused the population to crash. Once SPEARFISHING for groper was banned, the population rapidly rebounded and they're abundant now. Put on a mask and have a look for yourself. Perfectly legal to LINEFISH for them and invite one home for dinner if you want. Don't feel guilty about it. They are not endangered or threatened any more.
nice fish. and good job on an eggbeater. Knew blokes who would target them. got them double size but with an alvey, 80 and a broom handle. These were strong guys and they really worked for their fish.
Good on ya Alex. I’ve never caught a big Blue and probably never will. It’s rare for me to throw back a good fish, but I think if I caught a Blue like that I’d let it swim another day - beautiful fish 👍🏻
Hi Legend, I am an Italian guy new in fishing off beach and rocks. Which lenght rod do you recommend for fishing off the rocks and wich one for the beach. Your video are amazing. Thanks
My eats are bleeding affter all that screaming. Really? A very nice fish. Not sure about putting it in that first pond... Looked like it would have been way warmer than the sea...but great work for releasing it.
It concerns me when I catch blues that their guts protude at least 60mm out the butthole sometimes I catch 7 blues a session rarely but occasionally so I just want them to survive and I'm land based so I don't think it's barotrauma I'm on the east coast down south

yes plenty now but spearing nearly extincted them in the 60's

Congratulations Alex. Definitely one of my favorite fish on the rocks. Awesome fish!! Absolutely nailed it.
I'm a spearo and I can assure you there are big grouper at every spot in Sydney some times seems they out number all the other reef species
If bouncing releases the snag, I will definitely try it next time, Alex. You gave me an idea, ha, ha. Nice fish!

pushing that seajigger to its limit, look at the sheer power of the groper wow
How do you rate the 9'6 4-6 rod
Can't believe ppl leave used rubbers in such a pristine location.
ahhhhh westerly, crystal waters, down on those few times a year rocks at low tide....
Good video.
Bro wat is yr rod details pls
Luv yr video pls
a wet towel layed out on the rock makes it easier to handle those big grouper and drummer
Cheers thanks
The good old day's
yes very sad 😏
good eating
LOVE IT !!!!!!..GOTTA LOVE IT !!!!!! ...EXCELLENT...BRAVO
Im abit of barbarian and would have taken that one back if I could.... lol
Nice blue but you're carrying on like a pork chop. Jeez mate. I need new speakers!!!

I hope you're reconsidering now the ban has come in. Damaging six blues in a session is pretty off.
yes no net, removes scales and slime, not good for survival.
Luv ya n luv it al legend but shame that is wat is considered a big blue poor buggers used to be hudge n everywere
ther coming back you see heeps when spearfishing the big ones seem to be out a little deeper /further
Sorry to say the NSW government just fucked your business.
Not really because groper fishing is only about 5-6% of all of my trips in a year. Fortunatly I am a universal angler

Consider that.
Where i catch squid i sometimes see them swim past on the the ledge very early mornings and calm conditions never fished for them.
