I really appreciate the no BS fishing on this channel. All of these YT fishing guys are so focused on subscribers, videography and clickbait they have lost guys like myself. Great job.
Not sure what anyone else thinks, but that was one of the most informative skipping videos I’ve seen. Awesome job, this technique works. I actually got my butt kicked bye this technique by a guy who used a spinning rod for skipping under those dock. Kyle thanks so much for sharing all your secrets. As you and so many others keep all this info for themselves. You helping others the way you do is all going to make us better. We thank you!
Thank you! I was having tons of problems, not with accuracy but with my ability to continue thru with my skip of the bait. I never thought of the rod positioning after the bait made contact.
I started flipping docks 30 years ago and always used spinning rods. I like your approach much better but in this case it is hard to train an old dog, so to speak. Your videos just keep getting better. And I think you would make a good teacher.
Kyle, this was an excellent skipping lesson. Well done! Tried skipping a frog around docks this morning, then came home, found this video and realized all the things I was doing wrong!
Thanks for the video Kyle. Your skills with skipping are amazing. Seeing it first hand when I got to Marshal with you was really cool. Hunter has some great trick casts too! Great angler great person.
This popped up in my play next, the one thing I try to tell people when they are roll skipping is to feel like your elbows never come out from under your shoulders. If you go using too much arm it’s a mess most of the time. So start by just making a roll with the elbows tucked(no skip) and keep doing that letting your bait get closer and closer to the water. Once you have the motion down start letting it touch the water. And your off! I could be way off base🤷🏻♂️ but that’s how I taught myself to do it.
Dock skippin' wizardry right there boys and girls! Great vid, Kyle! Something I really need to work on, but docks aren't big players on the Chain . . . although you sure showed that they are big players back in January!
you know you are the heat when you can end your own video with self analysis! shades came off I'm like hold up roll it back is that him?! yeah man thanks for the video! fundamentals excellent word choice! ping pong, tennis, racquetball and slap dat ask me another question your wrists seems to be a key factor no?
The trick shots were fun too. My only problem was that I couldn't see what you were doing with your thumb. Were you touching the spool at the first skip. Was the reel set so that you wouldn't get a birds nest without touching the spool? I just couldn't tell. Thanks
Should have mentioned that. It's different Everytime. If the cast comes off wrong I'll apply pressure to attempt to fix the cast and I will gradually add a slight amount of pressure while raising my rod tip. I just had a tiny amount so I keep control of the bait
@@KyleWelcher thats crazy. All the non handtied jigs i skip came apart at the collar. I will only skip handtied now. Try truesouth jigs and swim jigs, they're excellent baits.
The best way to teach somebody how to do it not just by words is by your body movement that's how I learn I just watch how you have your thumb constantly on the spool and how you used to tip of your rod cuz that's mainly what to use for control you do that swirling Action with the tip I haven't gotten that technique down yet because I don't fish off a boat very often and or fish around alot docks but mainly your body language would teach others if they know how to read and watch how you're doing it just like reading a book
Man you did a great job explaining, only thing you missed- you seem to sweep the rod back after the lure hits the water then lift. You talked about the lift just not the back sweep. Good stuff- your a great fisherman
It helps more line come off the spool so it gets back in there farther and prevents the jig from doing a pendulum. Or at least in theory... thats what I do. Give it a shot
Good job, Kyle, but the sound wasn’t the greatest. I lost what you were saying when you turned to look at the dock. Do they make wireless mics for those GoPros? If so, might be a good idea to invest in one you could wear on your shirt. You better keep an eye on Hunter. With that much talent in acting, she’ll be off to Hollywood before you know it.
Thanks, I actually thought you taught skipping a jig fine. I have shimano slx baitcasters that i love and will try and dial em in. Your girlfriend smoked you ! lol

chaseerry I’m with you on that. I’ll watch Jon B. occasionally & sometimes LunkerTV, but AP just makes me want to slap him. 🤪
Niiiice tutorial!!! I thought u did a niiice job splaining it. You’ll become a better teacher over time. 👍😃🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Nice “trick cast” Hunter👏🏻

JJI Fishing my favorite UA-camr to. He’s awesome!
Your accuracy is great a lot of time on the water!
An unjustifiable amount of time
Most detailed video on skipping I've seen. Btw hunter is a hell of a skipper.

Your an excellent instructor.

Man you're still one of my favorites.
Kyle had badass casting skills, not just awesome skipping skills.
Great video. I got more from this then what you think you was teaching. Great job
Met an older gentleman at a pond that said he fished with you recently. Told me to subscribe. Im glad i listened.
What was his name? Thanks for checking it out
Kyle Welcher my memory is terrible but he lives in Cincinnati and he was out fishing with his grandson.
I just backlashed in my head like 97 times 🤣🤣
Ha I edit all mine out
Lots of good info right there. So accurate.
Thank you
Just stumbled onto your channel, good work my friend! Success will find you!

Spinning rods are key at times. I just get my heart broken to often using them

I'm glad my content could help.
Thanks for the video Kyle. Your skills with skipping are amazing. Seeing it first hand when I got to Marshal with you was really cool. Hunter has some great trick casts too! Great angler great person.
Probably the best skipping video I’ve seen learned more from this one than any other ones
Awesome glad to hear it
That takes some skill dude! You make it look so easy and it probably is for you but you make me want to work on my skipping. Thanks for video!
Thanks for the lesson brother. Now I’ve got the itch and wanting to buy new rods and baits and go wet a line. Kudos on the trick shots, great idea!
I though they were funny for sure
Great video also the trick shots were a great add I will never be that good
She has skills
You make it look easy thanks for showing I'm going to try this soon.
catch some big ones under docks
Done a better job teaching than you thought!! Don’t have a problem skipping socks but still helpful!!

Bro you taught me something for sure thx!!!!
I always have a problem with one of them dang poles jumping in the way of my jig on Harding . Good video buddy keep the coming!

Excellent advice
Nice Video Kyle & Hunter 🎣🎣

Thanks man
Good work on videos . Coming down tomorrow around Harrison bay look around do little bank fishing
Thanks for the video Kyle on how to skip baits. Now I'm going to practice skipping baits
I'm glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
I love skipping a senko with a spinning combo into hard to get places. Now I’m trying to learn how to skip with a baitcaster.
Good video Kyle. Thx for sharing.
New to the channel love the content brotha! Super enjoyable keep it up! Also love that you love throwing duckett rods!
Thanks for checking it out
Man you are PUMPING out the videos! Great video 👍🏻👊🏻
Trying to get somewhere
You will, did you qualify for FLW Tour next year? If so are you going to try it out?
@@brockmannwells I did and I will be there
Great video and very helpful.
Headed to practice skipping now..thanks for the video
Love the trick shots I'm gonna try that Saturday lol
Gonna be tough to beat
Great stuff, on your way bud.
Can you skip a curado 150 DC?
great video you make it look easy
Why? Turtles and birds eat the dead fish would you rather it just not nourish any other creature
Good stuff buddy. Great vid
Thank you!

What is the curado that you are skipping?
When skipping do you use your thumb to control the spool at all or will that take to much velocity away from the bait?
Great video!!! 👍🏾
Was this during the broke down Escalade days?
Can we skip and pitch with tranx 300 reel ?
Good video! Great information!
Yessir thanks

Great skipping and info.
Thank you!
Good job
Good ish bruh!
Thank you
Have you been down below chickamauga dam this year?
Yes 2 times. Love it down there
Kyle Welcher been killing em off the rock bar big ole smallies in there right now
You make skipping look so easy
My man!!! Thanks buddy answered right back with a video hit that subscribe button y’all!!
Do you not prefer a handtied skirt over a banded skirt?
The Yankum jigs i use are hand tied but no i do not care either way
@@KyleWelcher thats crazy. All the non handtied jigs i skip came apart at the collar. I will only skip handtied now. Try truesouth jigs and swim jigs, they're excellent baits.
Whats ur line preference for skipping?
15 to 20 lb flouro

Do you have a tuned curado?
No I don't
Guy does it around me gonna try it
How much u want the Curado dc
I use it for punching only but I like it enough for that to keep it
I’m looking to get one
When yoy upgrading to an ULTREX?
When they send me a free one
I got the pitch skip mastered but the roll cast is killing me.
It's just a little different. Pitch skip is enough for most situations
Bro you should go pro!
I am trying no doubt
Good job, Kyle, but the sound wasn’t the greatest. I lost what you were saying when you turned to look at the dock. Do they make wireless mics for those GoPros? If so, might be a good idea to invest in one you could wear on your shirt.

Wish version of the same Andy Montgomery video I just watched.
What about thumbing the spool? Feathering the whole skip just let raising the rod slow the bait? Keep up the no B.S. vids.
Thanks, I actually thought you taught skipping a jig fine. I have shimano slx baitcasters that i love and will try and dial em in.
Your girlfriend smoked you ! lol
Thank you and i definitely don't mind her winning
Skip a frog that's hardest IMO
It's definitely tough
She’s capable of doing all of them trick shots. She should be showing us how to do it not you brother. LOL
1st
very nice
Can't hear you that well
I almost didn't post it due to bad audio
Долго и мутно.
