I tried my best to include and explain every tip I could think of when it comes to skipping fishing lures! Here are some extra ones that I accidentally missed: - Use a bullet weight stopper if you're Texas rigging with a bullet weigh - Complete your casting motion all the way like you would a golf swing and finish it by bringing your tip up (watch slow-mo to see what I mean)
Thank you for the information Fletcher! While i agree most people should not try to skip a jig at first. I, myself would rather learn to skip the hardest thing possible and that itself will make everything else way easier to learn. I appreciate you and your help. Much love fam!
I've looked up every available skipping video I could find over the last few months. This is by far the BEST SKIPPING VIDEO OUT THERE PERIOD!!!!! Thanks Fletcher
*Awesome reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend especially for the price! No problems so far. Reeled in a 14lb laker yesterday and performed great. (5-10 min reel in time) Love the drag adjustment.*
Your instruction to begin the learning process with a spinning reel was priceless. Emphasizing the need to chose a stout fast action rod and use a "fast "casting motion and aim for it to hit the water close to the starting position were also very important tips not included in most other how-to videos. Great job.
I just ordered a baitcaster and I'm so happy to see this before I go ahead and ruin the first day with it trying to skip lol I'll def try with my spinningrod first
Probably looked for a good hour on the internet and half watched 10 different videos before I found yours. Kudos to you my dude on a great, very in depth detailed, video. Now to get on the water to practice. Thanks bro. Tight lines yo!!!
Yes! FTF coming on the scene with the in-depth tutorial content we've all been waiting for 🔥 I am slowly getting better thru practice. I have been watching your technique closely and trying to emulate, and the other day I skipped a swimbait all the way inside a cement drainage pipe 3 times on a dirt cheap baitcaster worth $90. Not gonna lie I was super proud lol
I've never once successfully done it. I always end up missing the water over and over because my muscles have years of sidearm casting memory. Then I eventually overcorrect to be sure to hit the water and end up dunking my lure at full speed and create a massive birds nest.
I've been waiting for this video! I'm tired of bird nesting, I know practice makes perfect but these details help so much! Thanks my guy! Love the content, keep it up!
I have been wanting to try and learn to skip a bait for a while now, I always see these great spots but they have so much cover above them that I haven't been able to hit them. This video was incredibly helpful and I'm slowly getting better now. Also I just subscribed after I saw this video lol, thank you for this video:)
Thats the best HOW TO Skip video Ive ever seen Fletch, You can def explain something in depth really well! Much appreciated broski... Can't wait for the next vid!
Dude I literally looked on yours and Noah's channel earlier today for a tip video on skipping and was bummed. Now you post one haha. Keep up the great work man
I did it by accident a few weeks ago. From a kayak. But it was not a series of tiny skips like yours. Mad skills you! I’ll probably blow up my reel tomorrow.
haha- i just said to my fishing pal that skipping is the same as we know as "fletchern" in german:its called differently though..it means to skip a stone above the water..we said it almost only in our family -- and the next i know i see your vid , you named fletcher...doing that trick.. hahahaha. Tight lines ,man
Practice, practice and actually seeing some results. The electric tape on the spool is probably the single best tip to save the entire spool of line. Thanks again 👍👍
This is the video I've learned from. Very detailed & informative. Love skip casting & this is the only technique I use now unless I'm trying to burn a lure through the air to get distance.
Wow you are great at showing people how to skip. New to bass fishing. So I keep looking up info on new tips. I have been at it since spring. I don't even want to catfish as much. I have 30 years of catfish exp. But the fast bites and how they like to run with your line I'm hooked on Bass. Keep up the great videos.
This is perfect timing for me I just tried starting to skip last time I went fishing and was putting off looking for a how to video. Thanks FTF for the tips!
Thanks for doing this video finally I’ve been wanting to learn how to skip but couldn’t find any videos that are detailed like this one is so thanks for that fletcher it’s appreciated so I’m finna go learn tomorrow lol wish me luck
Thanks for the tips,i'm starting to use the baitcaster. We don't have Bass in our country but i think it works for pike and perch too. Keep up the good work!
Bro this is awesome I’ve been waiting on someone to teach this bc I’ve tried and failed miserably. It fishing on Logan Martin in Alabama it’s a lot of docks and I can never get under them. I think this will help. Keep it up bud
Sir, could you please do a comparison of skipping jigs with a curado DC vs a standard baitcaster. This type comparison has not been done and it has never been addressed on you tube. Due to two totally different braking systems, people are confused about the ability of a DC reel to skip as good as a traditional baitcaster brake system.
Wow great tips you mentioned something and soon as you said it caught my eye and thats looking at the water where you want the lure to start skipping i believe thats my problem and didnt realize till you said it
gotta say...first time viewer...skipping tips brilliant..the most important part of what i observed here was the reference to broad athletics...picking the sport up in my late 30s not knowing shit to getting competitive in my early 40s has a lot to do with being able to hit a golf ball correctly, throw a slider, ride a skateboard/snowboard, throw a lacrosse ball. in early old age, all of these activities have only made fishing more physically enjoyable, at the same time prepared the mental side of it
Great video man! Honestly I wasn't thinking about subbing but as I watched the video and actually understood and learned from you I changed my mind. Got a new sub and like from me! Looking forward to seeing your content more, keep it up brother!
Thank you Fletcher that was an awesome how to video bro. I've been waiting for this and you delivered brother. Very well explained keep up the great content bro.
Thanks for the helpful lessons, I am very high on your knowledges on fishing. I appreciate your contents. What do you think of inline spinners for bass? I found it very useful.
Dude I’ve literally been thinking I need to learn how to skip Lol! Thanks for the cid and the great tips! Might need to work on it this winter while I’m not fishing
Lots of good information there, Fletcher! I don't skip lures yet as it's not required for the type of fishing I do, but it's nice to know I have it at my disposal if the need ever arises. I occasionally go fishing in a canoe for smallmojuth bass, and it would be great to do that sitting down. It looks like the mechanics of skipping demand that it be done from from a standing position. Do you know if that is even possible from a low to the water sitting position?
Great video. I skipped poppers before though. They do skip! They tend to hop higher so it's not as smooth, and kind of pointless, but maybe someone could find a use. I also skip spinner baits all day long!!! It's my best catching bait because no one thinks to actually skip them. They skip into and under everything and never get hung a problem I've had with jigs hitting trees with thicker branches. Still, very detailed and I even picked up some tips to try. Thankyou PS Thick wire on spinnerbaits or you will bend them out on bad skips, but I promise its worth it.

the video we have all been waiting for!!! You should do a part 2 with KTB. KTB and Fletch The Skip Brothers!
So glad you did this fletch thank you, I have been practicing for weeks and couldn't nail it. This was a big help
I appreciate any "How To" tutorial videos. I skipped one day and didn't mean. I don't know what I did. Thanks
Waw amazing
Thank you for the information Fletcher! While i agree most people should not try to skip a jig at first. I, myself would rather learn to skip the hardest thing possible and that itself will make everything else way easier to learn. I appreciate you and your help. Much love fam!
I've looked up every available skipping video I could find over the last few months. This is by far the BEST SKIPPING VIDEO OUT THERE PERIOD!!!!! Thanks Fletcher
The professor has showed up ladies and gentlemen. School is in session. Fire content.
Professor Dangle at your service😎
This was super helpful, I've been practicing quite a bit using some of the tips in this video and I'm finally able to skip a lot better.
I have tried to find a good skipping video for a year now. By far the best one I've seen yet.
Glad to hear that! I hope you’re skipping like a boss in no time😎👊🏼
*Awesome reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend especially for the price! No problems so far. Reeled in a 14lb laker yesterday and performed great. (5-10 min reel in time) Love the drag adjustment.*
No tf you didn’t
Fletcher I landed my first skipping fish today. This vid really did help me thank you so much for breaking it all down for me.

Not gonna lie, skipping a lure is so satisfying!
I've done it thousands of times and when I hit a really good one my hair still sticks up😂
I've never once successfully done it. I always end up missing the water over and over because my muscles have years of sidearm casting memory. Then I eventually overcorrect to be sure to hit the water and end up dunking my lure at full speed and create a massive birds nest.
I’ve never heard anybody talk about the actually settings of the spool tension knob and the breaking system. Appreciate the help 🤘🏼
That would be the most important part and other videos skip it? Sheesh.
I've been waiting for this video! I'm tired of bird nesting, I know practice makes perfect but these details help so much! Thanks my guy! Love the content, keep it up!
You actually covered a couple things no one else has. And believe me, I’ve watched quite a few! Keep up the good work. I enjoyed it!

I think this is one of the best examples I've ever seen you hit some things other people don't. 👍😎
Thats the best HOW TO Skip video Ive ever seen Fletch, You can def explain something in depth really well! Much appreciated broski... Can't wait for the next vid!
This is one of the best how to skip fishing lure. Great camera work. I like how you show the roll cast. Thanks 😊
Really appreciate your honesty on price range and mistakes made
The biggest tip that helped was was not to look at the water but the target thanks for the tips
FINALLY!! A detailed how to video on skipping. Definitely subbed.
That ZATA combo is underappreciated IMHO. I love that combo for moving baits the reel alone is smooth and casts like a boss
haha- i just said to my fishing pal that skipping is the same as we know as "fletchern" in german:its called differently though..it means to skip a stone above the water..we said it almost only in our family -- and the next i know i see your vid , you named fletcher...doing that trick.. hahahaha. Been trying to get skipping down! Surprised myself today, and did it!!! Still need to work on. This video was helpful and instructions were simple.
This is the video I've learned from. Very detailed & informative. Love skip casting & this is the only technique I use now unless I'm trying to burn a lure through the air to get distance.
This is one of the best explanations of skipping I've ever seen. I've watched quite a few. Thanks for yours. You hit some points others didn't 👍😎
Yes Sir, finally I am about to learn to skip like a Boss! Thanks Fletcher
Ayeeee I hope you get it down soon👊🏼
Wow you are great at showing people how to skip. New to bass fishing. So I keep looking up info on new tips. I have been at it since spring. I don't even want to catfish as much. Fletcher, you always manages to make the weekend even better!
OMG thank u soooooooo much for making this vid I've been asking every fishing youtuber I know!!👍👍👍
Best video on skipping a bait I have seen!
I bought one of those Zata Combos on sale for $149 recently. I really love that little combo. It’s becoming one of my favorites.
Great tip about the skip starting as a roll cast. Thanks!
This is perfect timing for me I just tried starting to skip last time I went fishing and was putting off looking for a how to video. Thanks FTF for the tips!
I always end up backlashing from too little thumb pressure and bad technique. I'm going to try the spinning rod and see if it helps. Thanks!
I watched 30 seconds of this video before I subscribed. You the man.
Great Tipp with the Focus on your Target Point. That’s so important in any sport also in races and stuff. 👌
Thanks for doing this video finally I’ve been wanting to learn how to skip but couldn’t find any videos that are detailed like this one is so thanks for that fletcher it’s appreciated so I’m finna go learn tomorrow lol wish me luck

I use the mediums or fast med to skip and a DC reel quick adjustments without having to keep adjusting reel .
Bro this is awesome I’ve been waiting on someone to teach this bc I’ve tried and failed miserably. It fishing on Logan Martin in Alabama it’s a lot of docks and I can never get under them. I think this will help. Keep it up bud

that white spinning rod is sic....awesome coaching video. thank you
Very much appreciate your knowledge on skipping. Looking forward to trying it out after fall over.

Full of great info . I can skip already but if I didn't this is greatly educational. Good job bud .
We should have to pay this man for the knowledge 🔥
Wow great tips you mentioned something and soon as you said it caught my eye and thats looking at the water where you want the lure to start skipping i believe thats my problem and didnt realize till you said it
Have you tried , baitcaster with 10 lb. Braid , #7 barrel swivel and 8 " of mono?
Thanks Fletcher, this video was soooooo helpful, even for a 66 yr. old man like me!
You are a very good teacher. Thx for the lesson.
Great video Fletch!!! Been waiting for someone to drop this tip video

You're right. It doesn't work.

Thanks for the helpful lessons, I am very high on your knowledges on fishing. I appreciate your contents.
What do you think of inline spinners for bass? I found it very useful.
Hey before I try should I set my breaks to max or are birds nests not that bad when I mess up?
This is a great video Fletcher! Thank you for sharing your expertise and knowledge with us.🤔
This video helps me a lot. Thank you for your effort. Have a nice day ahead 😁
Can I use a bullet weight on the swim bait when I skip or no 🤔
Can you use braided line
Dude I’ve literally been thinking I need to learn how to skip Lol! Thanks for the cid and the great tips! Might need to work on it this winter while I’m not fishing

Best vid I found on how to skip. Just mashed the sub button. Thanks.

Is this possible from a kayak? Wondering if it would be too low with the water versus casting while standing
Hey Fletcher, I requested it and you delivered. Thank you so much.
I've needed this video in my life... Thank you fletch
What's the best brand for Fluorocarbon?
