Skipping lures under docks and brush is a great way to find bass that are less pressured. Some lures are easier to skip than others, especially for anglers that are just learning how to skip bass lures into hard-to-reach places. Make your day on the water less frustrating by choosing a lure that may be easier to skip than the traditional jig. Links to products below.

Being able to skip a bait opens up an entire new area of fishing. I've always been a huge fan of skipping wacky rigs deep under docks and brush. Every time that bait slides back in there, I feel like I'm going to hook a giant!
There are a group of early HS boys on my home lake that are experts at skipping those wacky rigs and they are fearless! And like you said, I have watched them drag some giants out from under that stuff.
@@SteveRogersOutdoors Happy New Year, Steve!
@@LowBrowFishing Happy New Years to your family as well. May you have a blessed 2023!
My favorite, wacky rig or a weightless Tex rigged senko!
Those work well!
Hey Steve thanks for those great tips. I would have never thought to use the frog or the soft jerk bait. Excellent video thanks for spending the time to make these videos they really help me. I may be 58 yrs old but I'm not as good of a fisherman as your other u tube subscribers. Steve these young guys are so bright and fantastic at learning. Sometimes I think I'm a dope because there so good. I never had all this information back 30 years ago when I started bass fishing all we had was bassmaster magazine. Thanks professor God bless you and your family.
I totally understand what you're saying. I think back to when I was in high school and the high school anglers now. Wow. They are light years ahead of where I was at that age. No comparison. These young anglers have so much more access to info and the added excitement of HS and College fishing teams. And I still look forward to actually flipping through the pages of a real magazine every month. Love that Bassmaster.
I’ve started skipping docks late last year in the fall and it’s become a gateway drug 🤤 Nothing like dropping the hammer on one under a dock thinking you hung a log and a 5 lber runs out from under there 🔥
It is so much fun! And you are so right - it is awesome when that "log" starts swimming off.
I see frogs under my dock all of the time, but never thought of skipping frogs under docks! Thank you Steve.
One of my favorites to skip because they are so much easier to let fly.😁
Hey Mr Courtney I'm sorry I didn't mean to say the same thing as you. I wasn't trying to be a jerk or be a smartass . I hope you have a great fishing season this year I hope you catch a 10 pounder this season God bless you and your family.
@@michaelloucks4448 that’s hilarious. I try to read the comments before posting hoping someone may have already asked my question. At 61, I sometimes miss them too. God bless.
i just started skipping about a month ago with jigs for spawning bass around cypress trees. sometimes that jig can get hung up around the roots of the tree. i have been thinking of what else to use. glad you brought up the fluke. it might be just what i'm looking for
That’s awesome! I hope it works well for you. Thank you for watching. I just love fishing cypress trees.
Wow, a great video.. great information
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
I just started to learn how to do this also. Jigs aren’t the easiest to skip. I’ve learned that much lol. Frogs are def the easiest. Went out today and was skipping my beaver tail under the docks. No luck but I got it under there a couple feet. It’s a start
For sure it's a start. It feels pretty good to fire a lure under a dock. Builds confidence. Can't wait until you pull a 5lb'er out from under one!
The megabass dark sleeper and sleeper craw are great skipping baits too
Thank you for adding this for everyone!
Hey Steve! New follower, love your stuff! Very relatable and a lot of key aspects covered. Got any tips for fishing on a real windy day? I went through your channel and couldn’t find any. Maybe that’s something you could cover in a future vid. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Thank you! Here is a link to a video that talks about different levels of wind conditions and fall lures to use. I will try to make a vid on wind conditions this week and get it posted in the next week or two. Thank you for the suggestion! ua-cam.com/video/9eCfFv__6Og/v-deo.html
Steve Rogers Outdoors thanks man! Appreciate the reply! I sure look forward to it. It was 10-15 mph with 30 mph gusts today in Austin haha!
