Adorable! You've convinced me I need wood slices in my life. I've placed my order. Super excited for this series! Thanks for creating the content and sharing with us.
A few months ago I was looking at wood pieces and saw some small disks. Wondered what I could do with them. it's back to the craft store to get them. Love all the ornaments and tags! Thank you Lisa!!
Lisa these are beautiful!!! Awesome idea....and another great way to use our Stamps!!! Going to love this series!!! Thank You Lisa...looking forward to the rest of them....Happy Thanksgiving!!! 🧡🦃🍁
Have enjoyed watching you draw and stamp the wood chips! I have some that are real and now you’ve given me incentive to try some of your ideas. Great job! I saw one video that says to use mod podge then place what you want to put on the chip then use a small sewing or craft iron on top (put baking paper on top of image) then iron it and the mod podge melts and whatever you used sticks right to it! That was a keeper of an idea also however don’t remember who to give credit to 😢! Anyway TFS really enjoyed!
Came right over from IG to watch this. Fantastic!!! I was going to try to paint my slices but will try this instead. Had no idea the ink would work. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to see the rest of your series. Two thumbs up! ❤️
Thanks Lynne. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. I messed up a few times and then just painted over it and started again. You didn’t see that part on the video. LOL
Haven’t you said that your bows aren’t the greatest? My bows are worse than anyone’s ...haha!!! So,these look perfect to me! ❤️ Seriously though, I think all of these are great. I can envision a small tree with only these type of ornament. Who knew Gamsol would work! I ordered some of these as soon as I saw you make these. I’m enjoying doing the them “) very fun to do too! Thanks Lisa for all 12 days! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Deb❤️
@@LisaMearsDesigns so check this out... so since you and I have this now thing in common I think you’ll be able to empathize... my grandpa only had one arm and he taught me to tie shoes! Can you imagine? Smh
Hi Patty. I updated all of the links in this video. Check the description box for all links, but here is a quick one to the wood slice ornaments on Amazon - amzn.to/3Xq4KBH
These are so amazing! Would alcohol markers work? Do you need to seal them with anything when completed so they don’t smudge? I can’t wait to see what else you have in this series! Great idea!
I tried the link for the gamsol since I never heard of this and the Mod Podge Matte comes up same link address can you give me the address for the one you used amazon shows way to many lol. I love this idea thanks for sharing everything
I only tried coloring the wood slices with my Arteza colored pencils which, as you saw in the video, worked fine. I'm assuming any colored pencils will work. As for markers, I tried to color with them and found that the ink bleeds past the stamped line.
Hi Suzanne. Let your paint and Mod Podge dry completely. Also make sure you are using the Mod Podge Matte as there are different types. Here's a link to the one I used. amzn.to/36Jvxyv
Hi Taryn. For the wood slice that I used embossing powder on, I first prepped the surface with regular powder. I used the EK Success Powder Tool. Here is a link shrsl.com/35yxd You can probably try baby powder and it should work the same. It just helps prevent the embossing powder from sticking where there is no ink.
Hi Meg. I did not seal the wood. I haven't had any issue with anything coming off. I'm sure there is something out that that you can use to seal them if you choose to.
@@LisaMearsDesigns of you haven't had a problem maybe they just don't need sealing. I haven't ever made ornaments of any kind so I want sure. Thank you for responding 😁

Is it the regular mod podge or is this another brand? Never heard of modge podge. Regional thing maybe.

Happy Thanksgiving Lisa! Great video. You stamp so well on the wood. I would be afraid I would mess up. I guess then I'll paint it!

Beautiful tutorial ! Thank you for so many ideas ! One question: how do you fix the bow ? The hole is so small …. 😊
Thank you, Louise. I tied the bow and then added it to the wood slice using hot glue.
Beautiful😍
Thank you
Hi , your work is amazing!!! Can I ask what did u use to blend ?
Thank you! I used Gamsol to blend.

Do you put the modge podge on when the craft pain is dry or wet? I tried this today, and my stamped images didn't come out at all.

What product did ur first use prior to stamp n embossing powder?
Hi Taryn. For the wood slice that I used embossing powder on, I first prepped the surface with regular powder. I used the EK Success Powder Tool. Here is a link shrsl.com/35yxd
You can probably try baby powder and it should work the same. It just helps prevent the embossing powder from sticking where there is no ink.
I guess I need a beginners vid on this embossing, I’m lost lol
Do you do anything to seal the ones that have glitter so the glitter doesn't come off?
I don’t know what gamsol is ?
What is a gam saw?
Gamsol is an odorless mineral spirit. It's used to help dissolve the wax in colored pencils so that you could blend them more easily.
Ty
How do you keep the wood discs from splitting?
I've never had an issue with them splitting and have not done anything special to them.
