    What a great idea, Nichol. I love the way the rings in the natural wood add texture to the reindeer. I may have been one of those people who expressed my appreciation to you for encouraging us to use and re-use some of our favorite stamps. So pleased to see more ideas from your talented brain.

    Great tags & do love seeing designers using older stamp sets as well not just constantly new ones as not all of us have limitless budgets & have to wisely choose what we buy. Although anybody want to send me sets they no longer want I will accept gladly xxlol

    someone gave me a tip years ago for wood slices you cut yourself. If you cut them from a branch that fell when the ground is frozen, they won't split. It has worked for me. Love your ornaments!

    Great idea! Didn’t know that it would work to stamp on wood. But... reindeers are grayish! Why do people always color them brown? Are reindeers brown in the USA ? 🧐 in Scandinavia the reindeers are grey! ☺️

    • @katkathi8882
      @katkathi8882 7 років тому +3

      Maria Varga hello!
      I grew up in Ohio and also lived in Montana in The Ohio area I have only seen white tail deer which are mostly brown with the younger ones having the white spots, that they grow out of.The older Elk in Montana that I saw were brown to very dk.brown on head neck and legs with beautiful beige -ish light brown end of neck to beginning of rump area(with the young also having light spots that go to an all brown body before getting other color variations like above.)
      Moose in Montana when they are young looked brown with the older adults having a shaggy grayish tint to their brownish coats. ( especially in winter)
      Their are many different species of deer, elk etc. with reindeer being a sub species of the deer family and actually are called a “caribou” in North America.
      But, sadly...I have yet to find a red nose in any of these species though! 😂

      @sistahcool8144 7 років тому +2

      Maria Varga in Canada, reindeer are glittery, with sparkling antlers, bright red noses ( that are on timers and only come on at dark).....in other words, reindeer can be ANY colour your imagination makes them, it truly doesn't matter!!!!

    • @andrealavigne7824
      @andrealavigne7824 7 років тому +1

      Gamsol. It's an odorless mineral spirits thinner medium. It was originally made (I believe) for working with oil paints, to thin them. Works great with colored pencils as well, though. You can find it at art supply stores, & I think Ellen Hutson & Simon Says Stamp carry it as well. HTH! :)

I use rice paper tortillions dipped in Gamsol to blend, but they don't work as well as what she seems to be using. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      I got two different kinds of spray sealant that says "non-yellowing" so hopefully that will work. I have many wood slices from cut tree, so I have plenty to experiment with. Cut them with a circular saw.
