Wasn't til I was right about in my tweens/teens that I was put in tune with punk, hardcore, some metal and especially their derivatives/synthesis genres like crust, D-beat, thrash, powerviolence, grindcore, blackened crust, death ska, etc. I've known underground, backpack rappers and hip hop producers, punk, hardcore and metal musicians, done a little with hip hop and played in hella bands in a range of genres over the last 20ish years and it all takes different skill sets to make and to consume while picking up the nuances that make it either good, mediocre or shit. It's mad difficult to make a good beat and come up with the rhyme schemes and word play found in good hip hop. But just like every other genre and sub genre, the shit everybody knows is usually the worst they have to offer. There's a lotta really trash rap out there, especially lately. But there's hella trash out there of ever other type of music too lol The Lil's don't definitely rap just like Mushroom Head doesn't define metal 💀
In early July 2019, my daughters and I stood behind these guys in the Air Transat lineup in London Gatwick airport. Even though all of us had been shafted by a 24 flight delay, I was struck by their friendliness, good humour, and good manners. I listened to 25 seconds of this song, and I must say that it ..... stretches the limits of what I typically enjoy. Nevertheless, these seem like decent dudes.

I have heard that their drummer drops his sticks all the time at shows. Regardless, this band would not be as exiting if it was not for the drummer and vocalist.
What separates Archspire from other crazy fast bands is that not only do they play insane tempos but also the composition works very well. Other bands tend to just shred random parts in the song and call it that. Archspire arranges all those fast notes and turns it into something I can put on repeat.
Definitely one of the best modern tech death bands. I like how they can play super technical without sacrificing musicality and descending into wankery, like it's really melodic the whole time it feels almost like baroque chamber music but like heavy.
There are hundreds of TDM bands on my phone, and even if I shuffle, I can still tell which band it is just by hearing the first few seconds. That's why this genre is so awesome -- no limits, just endless space for creativity.
It is so amazing how these bands not only showcase such a complex and intricate playing and composition, but each song sounds so unique and otherworldly.

@@lred1383 Yeah they probably use some fx or editing to get the glitch effect in the recording. However, from what I can tell, he seems to be able to nail the same tone of growl when he does it live.
Forest Shouts Back I'm so glad you're an Archspire fan haha. I've seen them live six times and they are just as amazing live. I swear Spencer breaks cymbals every show.
Retrovirus Spawn of Possession get so much praise but I just don't get it. Them and Obscura are just so overhyped, and then bands like Artificial Brain and Virvum somehow get passed over. Just don't get it personally.
I am pretty sure this is the best album I will ever hear. It is perfect. From start to finish. Every second of it pure fun, bliss and face melt. Thank you so much for this.
Yeah it's great, but don't lose hope, there's other good stuff out there too like Bufihimat - I, another 30 min album where every song is "listenable" it's really a mindfuck of an album, trippy metal where the songs all randomly transition into something else at some point than you thought it was when it started. Not to mention all the great stuff by Chimaira/Decapitated/Septicflesh ect. I also discovered another one recently called Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name.

Lugal Ki En is pretty sick. Like Archspire a lot. Actually have a hard copy of All Shall Align. Very hard to find. Spawn Of Possession did the speed rap delivery first as far as I know (I could be wrong of course.), so I tend to consider them to be the originators of that style, but Archspire definitely have their own sound. New song is one of their best IMHO. Some writers consider Desecravity to be a Japanese Cryptopsy clone, but I think they are better. Both Archspire and Desecravity have their own identities at this point, so I am eager to see how great both bands become. Cheers.
Very progressive and technical elements. In general I like it, especially the video. What I like about Archspire is that they don’t write songs with same cliche formula that many heavy metal bands follow.
Case in point, his mother had done the same as him for all this time to see her son again, and there he stood: the cloak of others made her impossible to recognize, and she carved him like any other martyr of their guise
It's not just the speed of the vocals (and other instruments) that is impressive, but the ability to memorize all of it. So many lines in one song. Hell I probably couldn't memorize any of their songs on any instrument, even when it's something I'm better at, like drums.

NGL Golden Mouth of Ruin is my other favorite, next album if it happens will melt my face again, might even melt my bones and turn me into the "Evolution Of The Doppelgänger"! side note, never heard a bad album from these guys, some bands falls off or sells out or change their style so much it is not even the same band, let alone genre of music but these guys have been perfecting this style and breaking necks with headbanging from day one! they will get old one day, that is fine as long as they at least hold within the line of their previous albums, even if they don't surpass!

Actually today was the premiere of their new album and it's actually pretty solid, if you are into stuff like Lamb of God or Gojira (myself I'm not). Vogg is still one of the best guitarists I've heard in death metal. On the other hand I was soooo disappointed when after 6 years of silence, Lost Soul came up with their new album since Immerse in Infinity and they just blew everything up, same fashion as FA did... IiI is still a masterpiece though.

nvmcomrade I'm not hating on the band for changing the direction, I just hate the direction itself. They could be in sooo different place right now, instead they are like.. meh... Their choice.
Isaac dissonance I wouldn't say that, though I get what you're saying. The thing with Decap is, they are no longer the same band after the accident they had, and you can't really blame them for that. Actually today was the premiere of their new album and it's actually pretty solid, if you are into stuff like Lamb of God or Gojira (myself I'm not). Vogg is still one of the best guitarists I've heard in death metal.
On the other hand I was soooo disappointed when after 6 years of silence, Lost Soul came up with their new album since Immerse in Infinity and they just blew everything up, same fashion as FA did... IiI is still a masterpiece though.
