It's like baroque music for people with adhd and a monday mood.
Going back over these comments as we're finishing up the last 2 weeks of tracking for the new album. I think you guys are gonna like the new stuff... :)
Oh yeah this album amazing😍😍🤪🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏🤜🤛

Hell yeah Dean ! So goooood to hear !
I was coming back to this masterpiece in nostalgia, hoping for new shit ! You guys are the best. Please ask your tour manager to book Lille, Fra for the next tour (no matter when that will be)
ooooh boy the hype. is. real!

I like how the solos actually sound easier than the riffs under them.

I love the machine gun vocals. Fast as the drums.
reminds me a bit of metalocalypse

@@ironmonkey1512 reminds me of Vader - Decapitated Saints
@@ironmonkey1512 The Drone Corpse Aviator video definitely seems like something straight out of Metalocalypse, even down to their faces melting etc
Nobody is talking about the lyrics!!! This is one of the coolest and most unique concept albums I’ve read the lyrics for. The story it tells is insanely creative
Good point
Right? A dark horizontal is fucking brilliant lyrics wise and in general.
I would try to read the lyrics if my brain didn't spontaneously combust every time it gets to a fast part. Oh, wait. That's the whole album. Nah, but for real, I really need to check out the lyrics. This is easily one of my favorite albums of all time.
Vocals and drum sound are too annoying to care about the lyrics. Too bad, because guitar tone, and the overall songwriting, riffs and arrangements are half decent. PS. I actually went on to metal archives to read some of the lyrics and they aren't bad after all (I've heard better, but I definitely heard worse too). Too bad that his "let's fit as many words under one breath as humanly possible" delivery gets really old and annoying really quick. At least the whole album is only 30 minutes long so I was able to get to the end of it. In my opinion, 6/10.

Wtf happened to the comments?
this vocalist really stands out in the Death Metal community - really forges his own unique rapid fire approach. OF course all other instruments are played with the utmost attention to detail and speed. really digging these guys dont know how i slept on em last few yrs.
One of the best metal albums ever.
11:35 is the 25th symphony of Mozart in the rhythmic guitar. Also used very clearly by Children Of Bodom in 1997 in their song called "Red Light in my Eyes part 2".
*Fly away*
I think there were 2 other songs on this record that featured sped up Mozart stuff
I love the part where he goes biggabiggabuggabuggaoogaboogaboog
i understood bleh when he said it the first time
and eooohhhhhhhh
Man you have seriously made my day with that comment and kind of ruined the band for me since all I can hear is biggabiggabuggabuggaoogaboogaboog :D
Pretty sure they're referring to 3:41
Laughed at this. Thanks OP lol
So, the whole album?
Listen at .75 speed to make it regular death metal.
Listen at 1.25 speed to make it an exercise in human limitations.
.75 just sounds like Spawn of Possession
dont forget about listening to them live to gain greater power!
Bro, 1x speed is already an exercise in human limitations.
@@kohlllll who said these dudes are human? Lol

I just don't have the adjectives. We are truly living through the golden age of metal that will be remembered throughout human history. Thank the gods for it.🤘I had to add an edit just to say that it is ironic that so many people are incapable of understanding the true skill and genious contained within this music. It will become legendary however.....so many amazing tech death bands will.
ABSOLUTELY!!! This is the amazing!
I MISS NECROPHAGIST
@@cosmiceon Yeah same, but lots of great bands carry the torch!
Oliver
O wow, you jabronie. Thank you for letting me known that I'm just not capable of understanding this average of a release. I just thought that this band is somewhat run of the mill, half decent tech/deathcore metal with horrible/plastic drum production, vocalist that tries to fit as many words under one breath as he possibly can, and somewhat decent guitar work/songwritting/arrangements. But now after reading your comment I know that's it's not them being average, it's me who doesn't understand their "true skill and genious". And here I am thinking it's just music for anxiety ridden, ADHD patients who skipped their daily dose of ritalin, well love and learn. Oh by the way, the LP was released 2.5, 3 years ago and we still waiting for it to become legendary, maybe give it another 3, 5, maybe 10 years. I'm pretty sure in your little mind it's legendary allready, but keep on hoping, maybe the rest of us will catch up to you eventually.
Not a huge tech death fan but this shit is fire
For real.
Lucky you, it isn‘t death metal. The visual art is so pretty.
Same. This style isn't my go-to, but this rips

This is without a doubt the most, complex, intricate & well executed tech death albums ever recorded. Every time I listen to it there's always something I didn't notice before. I don't care if it takes a decade for the next album to come out if it's going to be anything like this.
Definitely one of the fastest and most well educated, but far from the most complex

The end of this album is probably the best music I've ever heard. I've listened to this 100s of times, don't know why I decided to comment now haha. Dear Canada, please shower me with more gifts if you will.
Lovely usage of Mozart's requiem on remote tumor seeker! Fucking amazing!

I can't praise enough this band. My mind is blown away. Thy really stand out from their peers. What a talent.
And I'm not talking about their virtuosity or speed, which is obviously impressive, but about their musicianship and melody-guided sensibility and song righting. All disguised under the insanity of their style. Therefore, if you lack in musical discernment/intuition you just might miss out on one of the greatest sources of musical orgasms.
What aFucking Talent .
T Landman I don’t think he necessarily meant it in such an elitist way. A lot of people listen to this and only pick up on how fast it is. But if you’re only doing that, you’re definitely missing out on the musicianship.
He's not wrong. Sometimes it helps to know about things to appreciate them.
mark solod I hope you listen to beyond creation the bring an almost classical style of writing to the table one of my favorites up there with these guys
Exactly my view as well. Oli's vocals are in themselves an instrument and he carries his own melody that significantly adds to the overall sound. What a fucking band dude. When I heard the Lucid Collective the first time I immediately thought "oh now this is a whole new level of tech here." Still blown away every time I listem to either album. As close to perfect as I can think of.
Agreed, kinda feel bad some will never get this insane work of art

One special detail i discovered very late. In involuntary doppelgänger at 1.40 there is a (i guess inhale technique) growl wich goes down with some kind of staccato vibration (wich is done by Olivers vocal skills) that morphs into a strange syntethic effect. The whole thing takes maybe one and a half second. This band is so genious!
It's been two years...and this is still by far... my favourite album. I'd even go as far as to say it's in my top 3 of all time (probably number 1) - Not a bad track on this entire album!

Solos and sweeps being performed more easily than riffs means tech death done right. So much depth to the sound here than what first meets the ears, or the untrained ears rather.
