Diane’s concerns are valid, Philbert being a messy flawed character but it “still being okay” and people using that to justify their actions is supposed to be meta commentary on how the writers feel about people using bojack as a character to justify their actions
As I go through S6, I'm seeing it all make a lot more sense. I'm *finally* starting to see the show not as just "haha funny horseshow, we need drama". And that is weight to what Diane is saying. Especiallllly when it comes to S6. So yeah, definitely agree after I've had some time to reflect!
@@EversPrimeTimeglad to hear it! That scene with Diane is one of my favourites not just in this show, but in any show. The meta narrative in how they’re talking about Philbert but really talking about the show Bojack Horseman really blew my mind when I first watched it, and I always get frustrated when people miss how it’s like the writers screaming at people that they’re talking about the show we’re watching, not the in universe fictional show. I get a bit defensive for my girl Diane, but glad to hear you’re more understanding of the scene after taking some time with it. This show has unironically made me really take time to reflect and look at myself sometimes
Big agree. In the moment, it felt artificial, like she was just trying to one up and be the better person. But after seeing some of S6, I see now what she's saying. She really is just trying to hold people accountable, which is INCREDIBLY correct.
You should be careful over talking over importqant details, dianes concern doesnt exactly come from nowhere, you just keep missing it! She just found out bojack is a pedo, and hes been extremely weird for the entire event because hes so high on pills! Hes straight up tweaking that whole episode, ofc diane would notice that!
Not only that, but phiilbert is supposed to represent bojack, hes a chr who is NOT a good person, and bojack just think that it means that since philberts bad, that means its okay if he is. Of course diane, the one who always cares about the impact of her art, would be upset that bojack twisted her narrative like that. Idk, basically be careful to pause when you wanna say stuff! The show is a lot of talking
Yeah it’s annoying that he’s not learned the simple technique of pausing the show, saying what he wants to say, then restarting the video…. It’s not difficult
21:47 Bojack calling "Herb" to Flip on the Philbert's premiere speech as a detail he never stop thinking about the friend he left behind twenty years ago, no matter how many were the alcohol he drunk.
Some people already pointed out it, but when Diane talks about the show "Philbert" it's like the writers are talking about their show, Bojack. Diane says "I made him vulnerable and people liked him", as in Bojack season 4 we saw the backstory of his family and we understand why he's so screwd, but we shouldn't act like he didnt all the bad things he did. The point of the show (bojack) is not that it's ok to do bad things because everyone is screwed (as Bojack says talking about Philbert) but that it's never too late to change, and of you're watching s6 now you definetely get it. Appreciate your reactions btw🫶🫶
ice bucket challenge def was faked a lot. xD take not so cold water, quickly dump ice cubes in it, still pretty hot but with ice cubes before they melt. ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE!! SO BRAVE!
Never have I seen someone so blatantly miss Diane's point here XD Probably didn't help that she was clarifying and legitimizing her point while you were talking over her about how she's just "creating drama." (I know reactors have to talk over some stuff, but when it makes them miss the answers to their questions it can be wild to watch lol) I don't see how calling Bojack out for the awful things he's done, or not wanting people justifying their awful behavior because of the show she helped work on, is "creating/looking for drama." You hear that a lot from men discounting women who bring up such topics, so it's ironic to see in this context (though I don't think you're one of those guys, to be clear!)
"The sex robot become the CEO of a company, or Todd becoming the Governor of California" Words that only come together in a sentence because this show exists.
I enjoyed that. What episode are you on now? Also, and I don’t think this is a spoiler; The mom is dead and there is no closure. That is kind of the point. When they die it always feels sudden and all chance of closure dies with them.
To be fair Philbert and Diane’s concerns are a reflection of this show and it’s creator’s concerns. Around this time a lot of fans were apologetic to Bojack and the creators were concerned like Diane about what that meant.
I can see why people are apologetic, but not for any "real" reason. I sometimes catch myself being apologetic for him, but not because he deserves it. But because he's a character in a show. If Bojack was real (and I recognize, unfortunately people like this do exist), I'd want him to fuck off and never be around anyone ever again. The writers did a REALLY good job with the writing in that regard. But I suppose it was uninteded.
Idk what bugs me is that everyone says bojack TOOK Sarah Lynn on a bender, when that’s not what happened. He called her, she could’ve chose not to answer, but she did, she could’ve not agreed to party with bojack, but she did, in fact she was more than happy to do that.
The whole philbert storyline and Diane’s concern here was apparently developed after the writers found out that Harvey Weinstein was a Bojack fan
Ah...that makes things.. hmm

Diane is the writers after Harvey Weinstein mentioned he was a fan of the show and that he liked Bojack.
ooooh
She's not looking for drama though. Her complaints are valid. I'd be worried to if my work validates people like Bojack to be shtty.

I think you totally missed the point of the Popsicle guy…..
Flip had been stealing the jokes from the lollipop sticks and using them in the show
I'm ngl, the bits like those go so far over my head because I'm so wrapped up in all the other drama lol
Love how they brought back Dr Who...... Sorry Dr Hu....
Its like he regenerated as a brand new doctor 😂😂😂😂

🤣
My guy you always talk over the important parts. Just pause the video and say what you need to.
What did I talk over?
@@EversPrimeTime bro, you made the video, if you can't even tell what you talked over, you DEFINITELY need to pause more

Hard hitting? Please, the next episode is a showstopper...

Judging by the comments it seems like you finally get it now so I dont really need to bring up what other people have already said.

Diane might as well turn into the camera when she says "I didn't make write this show so assholes could watch it and feel good about themselves"
