Hi Blackie. Like you i am a onewind fan thanka to your recommendations. Just want to say i really enjoy your videos. You explain things really well. Many thanks my friend and keep up the great work. Atb from the UK
Good video Blackie. I was looking for stuff to make my own and figured out the best choice was to buy both the underquilt and top quilt by One Wind. Maiden voyage last night at 39 degrees. Great product.
I've had the quilt down to nearly 30 degrees. It's warm, but after a while having it over you in the night I ended up kicking it off because it got pretty hot. It's my woobie. I also looked at that Swagman Roll, and thought to myself "Great.. Now, if only they dropped $30-40 off the price."
two main differences well okay, three the swagman costs upwards of $150.00 + or - . it has a hood and it comes in three different colors green, black, and dirt brown... Good catch for the budget minded Blackie, I like it
sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Brixton Roger thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Appriciated Blackie, I am considering the same Poncho Liner! Its been 4 years now, how is this Poncho Liner working out for you? Are you still using it? Have you done the mods, have you done a new video with an update? Cheers.
I recently picked up an Ontario Old Hickory 7” blade. Carbon steel. I heard they make excellent bushcraft knives. Curious if you’ve used them. They’re shockingly cheaply priced on Amazon. Came extremely sharp as well. I’ve used it in the yard on a bamboo fence I was building, but other than that - I haven’t been out in the woods yet. They fit in a kabar sheath.
What was the brand of the top quilt and suppliers company name? Sorry I don't here well anymore played back the video 3 times and still couldn't pick it up. So you think it's long enough to since up around a hammock as a bottom quilt and wrap around as a cocoon?
Kind of curious to know if this would work well for a girthy type guy like myself. I’m about 5’10”-5’-11” and I’m about the 330-340# range. Would use it mostly as a top quilt in my hammock and use a regular poncho liner as an under quilt. Do you think I’d be ok using this as a larger guy?
I use a woobie when the lows are in the 60s and a Coolmax sheet when the lows are in the 70s and I just cover up in sweat and wonder what's wrong with me camping on Satan's grill when it's warmer than that.
Dag-nabbit Blackie, here's another video I have to save. For a change can you do a few useless videos? (Between you, Swedoods, Coalcracker, Canterbury, and Dave Pearson I'm gonna' need a dedicated bushcraft computer.) :)
Jason I’d recommend a double though more comfortable, and you can always throw a water bottle in the stuff sack in the side toss it over you closing the top does wonders keeping the bugs out.
look for "one wind topquilt " in the description, highlight it and click on it but if that won't work...www.onewindoutdoors.com/products/topquilt this should
I’ll be making the purchases for the onewind quilting gear during summer .. hopefully preplanning and saving a few dollars .. I already own the swagman roll.. also plan on an extra wool blanket .. currently waiting on arcturus to release the 8x 12 survival blanket /tarp
Talk about an all in one summer bag solution!!😊✌️💚✊️🔥

Hello Blackie, Where can I find the wind sock? It is on the list at the One Wind site, but I don't see it to buy.

Several years ago I put a zipper in the center of one of my poncho liners.

Hey blackie, I have a question for you. Your hammock is it the single it the double? You have me really thinking of getting one for me and my wife.
mine is the single
Jason I’d recommend a double though more comfortable, and you can always throw a water bottle in the stuff sack in the side toss it over you closing the top does wonders keeping the bugs out.
