Wrex wasn't that great in ME1, he was just the grizzled mercenary with a blunt, rough personality (dare I say initially Drack from Andromeda was a far better Krogan). He had his deep moments with him being against the general views of the Krogan and his hidden insecurity about the decline of his race, but really it wasn't until ME2 that he really started to come into his own and truly give him a unique fleshed out personality. ME2 massively evolved many of the companions from ME1, Liara went from innocent child like scientist to a toughened information broker (hell she was threatening people!), Garrus went from hot-shot cop chafing under the rules to hardcore badass vigilante, Kaiden/Ashley.....became absolute d!cks, Wrex went from impersonal merc to bromance leader, I think Tali was the one who changed the least and even she got a bit more experienced and level headed.
No need. She probably ended her own career with her own words. If not, her own backstabbing and scheming did the rest. Some people, you just give them a length of rope and watch them hang themselves.
When I finally played Mordin's loyalty mission in ME2 I was in such a shock that I could not continue for some time... I always knew ME series are good, but I never expected something like this. I am a Chinaman, I know what birth control can do to a people and how scientifically justifiable it can seem. For decade we were told that we must control the birth rate at all cost or the world would be flooded with newborns depleting resources and for years under this name...things happened. It was a heavy topic that we still cannot tell right from wrong , and I never thought a video game could possible touch the subject with this level of decency and complexity. Such a great series...
Messing with a krogan in Mass Effect is like messing with a Wookie in Star Wars. Not a smart thing to do. And yes i know this was probably not the best comparison. It was just a thought in my mind
Nah! wookie is definitely a fair comparison. Both relatively primitive and aggressive cultures. Both very Tribal. Both Brutal warriors. Both nearing extinction. Both are the last thing you want as an enemy and the most loyal friend you can have at your back. The only real difference is one is a giant two legged turtle and the other is a big ole sasquatch.
Actually Wookies aren't brutal warriors or of aggressive nature, as a whole Wookies regard themselves as artisans, not warriors. It's just that their physical traits are stronger than most aliens and they are intensely proud.
does anyone notice wrex's diplomatic armor is the mercenary 1 type armor from mass effect 1, as apposed to the ceremonial krogan battlemaster armor? either way, wrex is still looking sharp
I'm a little proud that Wrex didnt growl at the Turian when he went to the data pad to play his evidence. I woulda done it if I were him Also this version of Shepard is uglier than a krogan.
That’s the downside to create your own character in mass effect. Original Shepard both male and female are AWESOME looking though. Though that’s probably obvious😅

The hard truth is that the Dalatrass is right in a sense. All it takes to realize that is to not have Wrex around, because that leaves you with Wreav, the perfect argument against curing the Genophage when you realize he's a better representation of the majority of Krogan people than Wrex could ever be.
I dislike this whole situation. The genophage is inexplicably worsened in the third game compared to others. The Krogan aren't dying out because of the genophage they're dying out because they only work in military professions and as such die young. The genophage brings their births in line with the rest of the galaxy (Which compared to the pre-genophage heights of their birth rates being thousands of times above the other races) The Krogan are a militaristic people whose only profession is war, cure the genophage and you've got overpopulation. An overpopulation of warriors with nothing to fight. It's a stupid idea and I dislike how Shepard never really got to openly complain about how stupid of an idea it is. Wrex literally makes these points himself in ME1 and throughout this entire storyline doesn't suggest any changes that might prevent the inevitable war.
We see the Krogan start to rebuild and reclaim their ancient culture after the War (depending on which ending you took) so Wrex is very likely going to enforce some extremely strict contraception laws. Either that or the Krogan come up with their own more ethical genophage which doesn't create fucking stillborns.
One thing I really loved about these games is how no one race was generalized. Yes there were Humans and Turians who hated each other because of the First Contact War (and to an extend their reasons are understandable), but there were just as many who moved past it. Same with regards to the Krogan and their issues. It really made the characters feel like living people with their own opinions and feelings.
This game did a horrendous job (particularly as an RPG) if you believe in the pros of the genophage. You can't even debate it with anybody! There honestly should've been an option in the dialogue wheel along the lines of "Let's discuss other options" after Linron says that the genophage is non-negotiable! Honestly, this game feels more like an anti-RPG than anything else!
When the salarian stated that the krogan lost their purpose or usefulness after the rachni wars I immediately hated the salarians. Because they admitted to using another species only to remove their ability to repopulate and took upon themselves the spoils of war. ..... Only mordin and maellin salarian are the most justified salarians. Ever other should return to being a delicacy for other species to consume. Protheans ate them, krogan did too. I wonder who else had a salarian on their dinner plate.
Well actually I side with the salarians at the time when they created the genophage, because the Krogan were abusing their spoils of war after the rachni wars to the point where they were destroying entire worlds with asteroids (like what Balak tried to do in "Bring Down the Sky"). Something had to be done. Unfortunately the Turian generals went against the salarians recommended usage of the genophage: Use it specifically on the violent clans while leaving the other clans alone. That way the Krogan will turn on each other and the violent ones will eventually run out of numbers and be wiped out thus ending the Krogan wars and everyone will get back to business as usual. They also waited too long to develop countermeasures against the Krogan's numbers before the Krogan wars started. As a result the council and the Tuians both in their desperation to end the war and a thirst for revenge got the better of them and the entire species was neutered . Rather then take responsibility and leave historians and their children to learn from the Krogan wars, they became racist and painted the entire Krogan species as violent and classified what really happened.
Not every other as the entire population shouldn’t pay for the actions of the dalatrass much like how not all the quarians should pay for the actions of the admirals and their ancestors
It’s really crappy how the salarians acted superior to the krogans. After everything, they deserved a spot on the council. They committed literal genocide, then complain when it bites them in the ass.
You have some really screwed up logic if you actually think it was genocide that the salarians committed and that the krogan are worthy enough for a Council position.
Wrex is a very straightforward character in the game, as is the Primarch because they both understand things from a soldier's point of view. Earning their trust by being honest and forward will (did) help more in the long run than playing politician while worlds burned. While helping the Krogan is a bonus, it's true I'm mostly doing this to get their help. But hey, if you have two problems that can't be fixed alone, why not let them fix each other?
@@raylast3873 I remember that in the lab, Ann Bryson suggest that the lack of any sign of indoctrination means that the Rachni wasn't actually controled by Nazara, but by someone else. Shepard (or EDI) suggest the Leviathans.
That's the problem with the Salarian race, they're unable to think in a long term and see the big picture. This asshole of a Dalatrass is saying that uplifting the Krogan was a mistake, when they're trying to do the same with the Yagh, a race far worse than the Krogan.
What is funny about the krogan is that they live so long. Some of them remember the war with the council. Their parents were uplifted. So for them they are definitely justified to be pissed.
Salarian Dalatrass: a bUlLy hAs FeW fRiEnDs wHeN hE nEeDs tHeM mOst! Also Salarian Dalatrass: Insults Wrex, Insults entire Krogan people repeatedly, puts salarian agenda above saving the galaxy
Without dragging up real-life politics, I think the story of the Krogan is very relatable. Eve relates that the ruins of Tachanka was their own doing, not the salarians. By letting their population grow beyond what their world could support and letting technology make their lives too easy, they turned to new challenges in each other, making nuclear war unavoidable. I really hope humanity doesn't follow that same path.
I just borrowed it off my friend just today :) so later imma start on it. my plan is to save wrex than import that profile to ME2 than save legion and tali than imart that profile to ME 3 so ill be able to get peace between the Geth & Quarions :) wish me luck lol
The Dalatrass rambles on as though the Reaper Invasion was not imminent extinction for her people, she screams about the Krogan as though Wrex and Eve were not better than their ancestors. Meanwhile the Salarians are experimenting with uplifting Yahg on Sur'Kesh, proving that they have learned NOTHING from this whole affair.
The dalatrass's attitude really does beg the question of how necessary the genophage actually was, and how much of it was the Salarians simply wanting to bring the Krogans to heel. Not saying the old Krogans didn't need to pump the breaks with their desire for war, but this gives the feeling they simply asked for some planets in exchange for SAVING the galaxy, and the Salarians started shouting that the Krogan were going to overrun the galaxy instead when that wasn't the case, and used that as a pretense for virus bombing the race back to the stone age.
Before Shepard leaves, I wish they would say something like "Lieutenant Vega, see to it that this sorry excuse for a Salarian gets her petty ass off my ship."
the thing i hate more than anything about playing on a ps3 is that the first mass effect never came out on playstation, and the default settings for 2 include wrex dying in 1. wreav wasnt nearly as awesome

I really hated Delatrass in ME3. Man she got on my last nerve, to win the war we needed the Krogan. The Krogan wanted a cure so give it to them, but nope.
ME2 was definitely the pinnacle of the series for all the reasons you stated.
Throw her out of the airlock or the window in the room.
Why isn’t that an option in the game
No need. She probably ended her own career with her own words. If not, her own backstabbing and scheming did the rest. Some people, you just give them a length of rope and watch them hang themselves.
With Wrex... I trust the Krogan. With Wreav.. I trust the Salarians.
Yes, the game made sure to hit us all over the head with that!
I like you, you play like me, you make the conversation choices quick and simply and don't leave awkward pauses that ruin flow.
Messing with a krogan in Mass Effect is like messing with a Wookie in Star Wars. Not a smart thing to do. And yes i know this was probably not the best comparison. It was just a thought in my mind
seems fitting
its quite similar
Nah! wookie is definitely a fair comparison.
You left out that the Krogen can actually speak English.
"A bully has few friends when he needs them most."
PLEASE. I will save the Salarian Councilor and all your bluster will be useless.
Nah, you didn't save him. A terminally ill Drell did.
@@Mr-Trox Yeah but you showing up brought Thane time to get there just before the councilor died so technically you both saved them
That “look” Wrex gives when she mentions his urges. That right there could put the fear of god into the machines. And his name is Wrex.
"A bully has few friends when he needs them the most."
Have a lot of experience with that, Dalatrass?
Ah, yes, the Salarian Dalatrass. We have dismissed that claim.
does anyone notice wrex's diplomatic armor is the mercenary 1 type armor from mass effect 1, as apposed to the ceremonial krogan battlemaster armor? either way, wrex is still looking sharp
I'm a little proud that Wrex didnt growl at the Turian when he went to the data pad to play his evidence. I woulda done it if I were him
Also this version of Shepard is uglier than a krogan.
That’s the downside to create your own character in mass effect. Original Shepard both male and female are AWESOME looking though. Though that’s probably obvious😅
@@rebel1717 You can make decent looking custom Sheps if you're willing to put in the effort (Especially if you're on PC, since you have access to mods).
@@SoupSultan i only ever managed to make my custom Shepard look good in ME3. In others it always looked strange.
@@erieriderschillingcorner1595 Yea, femshep has always been easier then dudeshep. I think I had to restart ME3 around 5 or 6 times before I got one that looked like a human.
@@SoupSultan
I don’t care whether mine looked human I just wanted shiny pink hair

"A bully has few friends when he needs them the most" - says the bully in this situation
Wrex may have made the idea up, but it was Victus and Shepherd who did most of the heavy lifting.
Thanks Victus.
The hard truth is that the Dalatrass is right in a sense. All it takes to realize that is to not have Wrex around, because that leaves you with Wreav, the perfect argument against curing the Genophage when you realize he's a better representation of the majority of Krogan people than Wrex could ever be.
But we’d have Eve. Nihilism is bs
And this is exactly why we save Wrex and Eve, so they can whip the clans into shape and curb their self-destructive behaviour.
And even then it'd be pretty naive, even on Wrex's part, to keep over 10 planets worth of Krogan in check.
@@williamkerfoot8039 If you think Wrex won't be able to personally headbutt every goddamn krogan on all 10+ planets to make his point... think again.
@@AldorEricsson That's a joke. But you knew that of course.
Now we can get back to doing what krogan do best: saving everyone else from giant monsters.
I dislike this whole situation. The genophage is inexplicably worsened in the third game compared to others. The Krogan aren't dying out because of the genophage they're dying out because they only work in military professions and as such die young. The genophage brings their births in line with the rest of the galaxy (Which compared to the pre-genophage heights of their birth rates being thousands of times above the other races)
The Krogan are a militaristic people whose only profession is war, cure the genophage and you've got overpopulation.
Normalize my balls, it force the aborts of like 90% of new born, do you know how much sufference ?
We see the Krogan start to rebuild and reclaim their ancient culture after the War (depending on which ending you took) so Wrex is very likely going to enforce some extremely strict contraception laws. Either that or the Krogan come up with their own more ethical genophage which doesn't create fucking stillborns.
Being occupied by krogan is preferable over being wiped out by reapers
Well when a bully has the the turian and the krogan races with them I think they got plenty of friends
At the end I really wanted Shepard to have one more witty comeback, like:
"And she who thinks only of herself dies by herself."
I liked Udina more than the Dalatrass! Hell, I liked Kai Leng more than I liked the Dalatrass!
Масс эффект это не ролевая игра.
Это кино.
Странно на что вы рассчитывали
@@KennyMShow Speak English, you imbecile!
"A bully has few friends when he needs them most."
Me, with every fleet at the end: Are you sure about that?
Wrex is a very straightforward character in the game, as is the Primarch because they both understand things from a soldier's point of view. Earning their trust by being honest and forward will (did) help more in the long run than playing politician while worlds burned.
While helping the Krogan is a bonus, it's true I'm mostly doing this to get their help. But hey, if you have two problems that can't be fixed alone, why not let them fix each other?
Actually, the Rachni were being mind-controlled by Sovereign, under normal circumstances they‘re not mindless killers, either.
Leviathan DLC suggest that the Rachni was actually mind-controlled by the leviathans.
Daniel what why?
@@raylast3873 I remember that in the lab, Ann Bryson suggest that the lack of any sign of indoctrination means that the Rachni wasn't actually controled by Nazara, but by someone else. Shepard (or EDI) suggest the Leviathans.
@@varric No it was the Reapers.
I really hate that even if you agree with the genophage, Shepard's dialogue flip flops between supportive and unsupportive regardless of your choice.
3:50 this is why you play the default sheppard.
I think I'm one of the few people who thinks that the dalatrass is awesome.
I wouldn't say she's awesome but she's definitely misunderstood and (despite her attitude) reasonable.
too afraid of krogans she's forgetting the reapers are an immediate and deadlier threat
That's the problem with the Salarian race, they're unable to think in a long term and see the big picture. This asshole of a Dalatrass is saying that uplifting the Krogan was a mistake, when they're trying to do the same with the Yagh, a race far worse than the Krogan.
*sighs* gonna have to waste another 40 hours of my life
The daletrass should listen to her own advice
Yeah except the Salarian fleet, engineers and even the STG are more loyal to Shepard than the Dalatrass
I usually just get Kirrahe and the STG task force.
1:47 back then it may have been like that. But Wrex is making them evolve.
Salarian kidney is best consumed raw.
You are correct. İt was a a delicacy in my cycle
What is funny about the krogan is that they live so long. Some of them remember the war with the council. Their parents were uplifted. So for them they are definitely justified to be pissed.
Would like to see salarians removed from council in me4 for their refusal of support in the war when you cure genofage :3
No, that would have to be for covertly uplifting the Yahg. I can see them as a real problem if the series ever continued.
"A bully has few friends when he needs them most."
Look who's talking, Miss "It was the only way to keep their urges in check".
Dalatrass: But I warned you commander! The consequences will come...
Shepard: Will be NOTHING compared to what happens if the Reapers win.
Damn right I do.
Salarian Dalatrass: a bUlLy hAs FeW fRiEnDs wHeN hE nEeDs tHeM mOst!
Also Salarian Dalatrass: Insults Wrex, Insults entire Krogan people repeatedly, puts salarian agenda above saving the galaxy
And is the only one of the 3 who doesn’t show up on earth at the end of the game even if you sabotage the cure
"A bully has few friends when he needs them the most."
Should have been met with "Right, try to remember that".
I never notice that Shepard rolls her eyes at Wrexs pontification when she walks in
Yeah yeah Dalatrass. Who's the one with a big Krogan Battlemaster who calls you Brother? >:)
Victus is a bro
Without dragging up real-life politics, I think the story of the Krogan is very relatable. Eve relates that the ruins of Tachanka was their own doing, not the salarians. By letting their population grow beyond what their world could support and letting technology make their lives too easy, they turned to new challenges in each other, making nuclear war unavoidable. I really hope humanity doesn't follow that same path.
I just borrowed it off my friend just today :) so later imma start on it. my plan is to save wrex than import that profile to ME2 than save legion and tali than imart that profile to ME 3 so ill be able to get peace between the Geth & Quarions :)
wish me luck lol
The Dalatrass rambles on as though the Reaper Invasion was not imminent extinction for her people, she screams about the Krogan as though Wrex and Eve were not better than their ancestors. Meanwhile the Salarians are experimenting with uplifting Yahg on Sur'Kesh, proving that they have learned NOTHING from this whole affair.
That look Wrex gives and a nod when he confirms that its his homie who is representing Humans, says everything.
Wrex is just pissed off because I wouldn't let him have a window. Maybe if he was as good a kisser as Liara...
4:12 i love this line. its most important now.
Before Shepard leaves, I wish they would say something like "Lieutenant Vega, see to it that this sorry excuse for a Salarian gets her petty ass off my ship."
She really walked right back in to tell her off
Is it just me, or does this Shepard look kinda like Sweet Dee from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? 3:24
I'm convinced that the real reason people hate Dalatrass Linron is because deep down, they know she's right and they can't stand it!
I don't think I've ever had a playthrough where I play nice with the Dalatrass
Not even when Wreav is in the same room?!
the thing i hate more than anything about playing on a ps3 is that the first mass effect never came out on playstation, and the default settings for 2 include wrex dying in 1. wreav wasnt nearly as awesome
why would you like having romance with a Krogan, he would crush you when you have sex. Krogans weigh like 700 pounds or something. XD
“A bully has few friends when he needs them the most.”
You would know.
The Krogan/Salarian story is my favourite part of ME3. It's so goooood
The dalatrass only proves why krogan hate salarians because she straight up said the krogan ceased to be useful you just said they are like a tool to you saying that to a clan chief ain’t gonna get you anywhere except a shallow grave
Why dont I meed wrex and Jack...? I mean I started the game and I didn't import any previous save game...=/
Uplifting a species doesn't mean you get to rule them however you want.
why couldn't "Wrex, ice this bitch" be the Renegade option?
If you see a Krogan make this face at you 1:28 I would suggest running as fast as your legs can carry you.
Primarch have a big general martok vibe...
"A bully has few friends when he needs them most!"
"Yes. Yes, she does."
So you gotta save him in the first one !?! fuck sake I only got the 2 & 3 >:(
I really hated Delatrass in ME3. Man she got on my last nerve, to win the war we needed the Krogan. The Krogan wanted a cure so give it to them, but nope. Delatrass can't get over her hate for them and would rather doom the entire galaxy, then she tries to undermine the whole cure by contacting Shepard to stop it. Man I just can't stand her.
Years go by and I still find new options for conversations.
