Marc Dufresne More of a universal kind of way. Kind of makes sense that given similar parameters systems would behave similarly over time, in the me universe this is further advanced through the reapers intervention.
Even without Javik there, you can still find out that Athame was likely a Prothean. If you examine all the artifacts in the room, eventually you can piece together that the Asari did inherit their technology from the Protheans. It goes slower, and is much more subtle and vague, but it is there.
That moment when you realize the Asari had a beacon warning them about the reapers on their homeworld and they still did nothing to prepare for the reapers eventual arrival
And this explains why Control and Synthesis endings are exactly what the Reapers want. Run quiet for a few years, make everyone think Shepard's got shit under control and then BOOM, HARVEST BITCHES
Control is what they already have basically, synthesis is what they've always seeked, and destroy is chaos unless Shepard's cycle proves to be different like it hints and the synthetics they inevitably create will be at peace like EDI and Joker or the Geth and the Quarians. It's still a shame Shepard can't challenge the Catalyst's logic by using EDI and the Geth as evidence of a peaceful pattern of created vs creators.
+Linkenski The likes of reapers have seen countless synthetic-organic relations for thousands of millennia, & have concluded long ago that without synthesis--something organics are usually very unwilling to go through, those relations will eventually always suffer. even if Shep brought about a successful reconciliation between the Geth & the Quarians, & then EDI to bear, the catalyst would just dismiss these to be extreme, isolated, outlier cases, & not worth fighting over.
Falcon Windblade "The likes of reapers have seen countless synthetic-organic relations for thousands of millennia, & have concluded long ago that without synthesis--something organics are usually very unwilling to go through" I believe everyone who played the extended cut understand as much, but the problem is still exactly this; The empirical data in the reasoning is missing from what the player can relate to; what we have seen throughout Mass Effect 1 and 2 and 3 until the ending. There is no context beyond what the Leviathan or the Catalyst talks about. You can buy it if you're okay with *their* version of the events, but Mass Effect as a narrative was not about the story the Catalyst is referring to, and thus it becomes an incredibly weak ending becase you're forced to consider such a huge choice for an issue we've not even experienced, we've only been told about it. It's basic "show don't tell" done wrong. It's the typical example of what bad writers do. The Geth and Quarians is a complete strawman argument in relation to the Catalyst's story. In good stories the events reinforce whatever will be addressed in the ending to form a conclusion -- it's like writing an essay or a bachelor. You make exposition, analysis and perspectivate. A leads to B, B leads to C so as a reader you can follow the logic. In the ending you can't because information is too vague or missing to resonate emotioanlly with any of the really effectively written events *throughout the trilogy*. ME3 doesn't follow through, and it doesn't matter how much some vague lore of millenia ago justifies it; as a *story* it completely fails to resonate. It's just bad storytelling. I would even argue Mass Effect 3 is barely a story anymore by the time the ending happens because there is no flow of logic that leads from A to B to C. Instead there is "A to B to ??????" or "?????? to ?????? to C" The flow of events in the story don't follow. It's not a proper story
Linkenski I'm stating that from the reapers' point of view, whatever argument Shepard can throw doesn't hold water at all. that's all i'm saying. i don't like the ending just about as much as everyone else. & the fact that cyborgs can be made throughout the galaxy with just a beam of green energy flooding places is goddamn sloppy & ridiculous in the first place.
How's that? Even after aligning the both Admiral Raan states the conflicts are possible. It's only a matter of time between a rift is open between Quarian conservatives and Geth, again. Synthesis is the best logic because it is the final solution that the Catalyst never came to understand hence the endless cycles. Had they done synthesis in the first cycle and nobody would've have needed to be exterminated.
the beginning of the end... can smell the taint of the catalyst and RGB. still a cool scene though. brining Javik on this mission is always what I do. the added dialog by him is cool. like Legion on Tali's loyalty mission. he belongs in this mission.
firefox3249 I personally believe Shepard was in the process of the Repears attempting Indoctrination on Shep. That's the canon I believe that it's Shepard's mental battle fighting the Reapers influence. The ILM is already in it deep though most definitely Whatever the end sequence was of ME3 he basically tries to stop Shep bc he thinks he can control the Reapers but it's logically impossible.
Naomi Amani You fail to realise an important factor. If you've ever read the Codex, you'd know that long term indoctrination is a slow process that takes weeks to complete. Shepard wasn't exposed long enough to any Reaper elements in order to get indoctrinated. Also, do not forget that the "Indoctrination Theory" is 100% fan made and that Bioware never confirmed it.
firefox3249 Personally I can never accept the star child Shepard-deity BS they tried to throw us in the ending. The Indoctrination Theory may not have been confirmed by BW but I can't accept these supposed "choices" they gave us in the end which realistically aren't possible unless Shepard just knows space magic or is "The One" now. I have to disagree that Shepard hasn't been exposed to Reaper signatures long enough to be affected. The Reaper IFF in the Normandy is one factor I think can't be ignored. Shep has also been exposed to Reaper tech around the Universe which even when out of commission can still affect people. Shepard is too big an asset in the mind of the Reapers to not try and take a shot at infiltrating one of sentient life's most prolific leaders. They could have killed Shepard multiple times easily. I don't think it's pure luck and skill that Shepard is still alive. Nothing in the endings were very conclusive so the way people interpret the ending of the trilogy I feel will be debated until the end of time based on how they believe is the "right ending.". I respect your opinion though.
Naomi Amani Yeah, Shepard did get near Reaper elements (the IFF isn't one of them), but he didn't stay long enough. While he still can be indoctrinated over a short amount of time, he'd end up a mindless drone really quickly (in a matter of days). Seriously, just read some entries of the Codex and you'll confirm it yourself. Also, the star child story is kinda shit. I'll give you that one
Douglas William well we know based on the prothean way of life from Javik, it likely would've remotely fired it to destroy all Synthetic, and thus would've saved the entire last fight from happening, if it was successful.
This is what I loved about Mass Effect 3. I felt like the other 2 were great but they lacked that dialogue/story changing experience just by picking your crewmates makes me put this one at the top. ME3 is also thr first game where I didn't have an obvious favorite crewmate combo.
nope, they are 2 different people zaeed was DLC from ME2 and can be found/recruited in ME3 pending you recruited him and he lived thru the suicide mission at the end of ME2....... or you can take the easier route and recruit him and kasumi in the post game to guarantee their survival and still see them in ME3
+Sherab Tod The council races would've likely been more prepared for the reaper assault. Hell, humanity might have found the plans for the crucible a lil sooner since they didn't start digging on mars again until right before the events of ME3.
+Raven Strategist Yes, indeed. I was angered when I discovered that the "last hope" all the galaxy worked so hard to build was just a part of the master plan of the Reapers to force you to submit to their terms.
I don't think so, the dark Energy was supposed to accelerate the aging of the stars (Harmstorm sun)/assimilate the Galaxy It shouldn't be able to influence the conflicts in the Milky way It's not sentient
+Leon Valenzuela It goes as far back as ME 1 on Ilos as Vigil also has Indoctrination Sensors as it sensed Saren was Indoctrinated but not Shep and Co.
The Indoctrination Theory doesn't say that Shepard is indoctrinated. It says that the Reapers are trying to indoctrinate him/her and they succeed if you pick Synthesis or Control.
IMO Synthesis is the true ending for this plot about Organics VS Machines war since it unites the impossibly irreconcilable difference that is inherent to Creators and their creations's evolutions. Control is just a band-aid that is slapped on since it is admitted by the Shepard consciousness within the Reapers that its not sure if s/he is still the same Shepard that decided this conclusion. And that Synthesis needs the highest EMF points needed to unlock.
4:09 one of Javik's only smiles in the entire main game, experiencing the simple joy of seeing another one of his kind, even in virtual form. Heartwarming.
I wish Bioware did not give an origin story for the Reapers with the ending and the Leviathan DLC. It made them much more mysterious, much more frightening, and intimidating.
I agree. I think unmystifying them by saying that their creators still can be found in this cycle was dumb. The Leviathans should've been an extinct race and only remains from their time should've revealed the origin story, not directly from the horse's mouth... the same goes with Javik to be honest. I like him, but I wish they hadn't made a living prothean in our cycle be a part of the story because it cheapens the fiction IMO.
+Linkenski I agree to a certain extent, until the part with Javik. i like him in the game & it kinda collates with the fact that for most of the time, you can't defeat an enemy you know next to nothing about. having him here gives lotsa insights about shit loads of things, making defeating the reapers somehow actually look more feasible. the Leviathans on the other hand, is an incredibly dumb move. the whole shit had been going on for millions of years & the Leviathans are supposed to be older than that. you'd have thought that the reapers would have found the remnants of their creators somehow throughout those millions of years, & wiped them out.
I always loved and do love(yep still do reruns...man o man every rerun i find something new..a new piece of dialogue to new loyality..etc) Garrus and Javik..OR Javik and wrex (when available)
what follows is the biggest fuckup in gaming history. never have i been, and never will i again, feel so frustrated about plot incompetence and railwaying than during the kai leng encounter
Javik: Listen to the human. He can be trusted. Prothean VI: Your mission was known to me.Do you believe the present cycle can deliver retribution? Javik: THEY HAVE EARNED THE RIGHT TO TRY. Prothean VI: Very Well Me & Shepherd: MY NIGGA!!
Vendetta is interesting. We never actually get much information out of it before Cerberus get their hands on it. And because we know they tampered with it, all information given by Vendetta after this point is suspect. So all we know for sure is: 1/ Repeating Cycles imply there's a greater design involved beyond the Reapers (speculation, confirmed as being essentially a mistake caused by the hubris of the Leviathans though could also potentially be something else as well due to the suspect informations the Leviathans themselves give). 2/ The Catalyst is a thing required to make the Crucible function. 3/ Vendetta can interface with "your systems" (directed at Shepard), either meaning the Crucible (though maybe not due to referring to it directly in the very same sentence) or Shepard's suit or even Shepard's body to "assist" with the Catalyst to... Do what? I still think the AI at the end of the game is not the true Catalyst. Shepard is - an unchanging addition to a formula that causes the reaction. Could be wrong, of course, but it makes a lot more sense to me.
This scene kinda disproves the indoctrination theory, the protean VI is capable of recognizing an indoctrinated presence, which doesn't recognize when it sees Shepard
Cuz in the finale game he wasn’t indoctrinated. They cut that idea before the game was released. There’s still plenty of hints with star child, but officially he wasn’t indoctrinated.
Imagine if the stupid prothean VI immediately told Shepard to start downloading the data and while the download would be goingthat the Catalyst is actually the Citadel. After that you could just run away from Kai Leng and his plot armor instead of fighting him.
He was written as one but this was the era of hostile day one dlc (i.e where EA forced BioWare to lock javik as dlc content), he was originally meant to be a far more important character but BioWare had to change the story to make sense without them. Hostile day 1 dlc was done in such a fashion, that it was designed to penalize people who lent a game to a friend or bought it pre-owned, the DLC was given to you via a one time use code in the game case, if you sold/lent the game, the next owner wouldn't be able to get it and would have to spend 12 bux to buy it. This practice was so controversial that it cost sales and was generally abandoned by the industry (in favour of arguably worse practices like loot boxes)
Nearly four years later, still pissed that they buggered up the ending. I mean, you play the game to defeat the Reapers, and instead allow them to chose how you do so? That just makes out that the Reapers were right in their actions. Whole thing soiled Mass Effect and Bioware for me.
+RavenRyy Exactly. Maybe it was made on purpose with that intent (to show that no matter how hard you worked, at the end they were still much more powerful than you), but still sucks how there wasn't an ending where you actually defeat the Reapers under your own terms, not theirs, even if it was the hardest to get.
Sextus70 Sad tae say, I think you are giving them too much credit. That ending didn't fit the theme they were running in which you defeat these odds. I heard a rumour that the head writer of ME3 just announced they where scrapping the plans they had for an ending and he rewrote the whole thing himself, giving us that horrible and bland finale in which we all got the same fecking ending but with different colours.
+RavenRyy Actually this were the endings that fit the game more. And that one had the reapers killing everyone because the use of Eezo was killing stars with Dark Energy.
lambusado Nope, that was planned and hinted at in ME2, but scrapped for part 3. The bastard StarChild explained the Reapers purpose was to stop organics and synthetics from warring on each other as there could be no peace between the two types of life. This is DESPITE the fact that the Quarrians and Geth can make peace if you play the game right. But the StarChild's insane logic is canon. Bioware done fucked up. It was most likely EA's interfering that caused the fuck up, but Bioware are the ones take the blame.
As much as people enjoy this dialogue, this is exactly why I DON'T bring Javik with me on Thessia. If you do, it takes away from all that Shepard's gone through-the whole idea of "You have the cipher from Feros, and the beacon thinks you're Prothean!" goes out the window when Javik is right there, and vouches for you instead. Makes Shepard seem less important.
You're shepherd literally came back from the dead by This point. Why is it so hard to concede that you aren't the most important entity in this particular moment?
That's something that always bugged me. The Protheans were sabotaged by indoctrinated individuals. Yet Vendetta senses the ninja dude before he sees him... so why was this technology not employed more broadly to hunt down those under the effects of indoctrination?
Can't believe I did everything right the first time, got the right characters to be in the right place. It was all a whim, based on seemingly simple logic like "Reaper invades world, Liara should be here, and Javik too, he needs to see this more than anyone."
it's so scary to think that in mass effect the reapers have been to our galaxy so many times that literal god tier civilizations were able to be born only to be stricken down by reapers over millions of years in the galaxy.
Its not so scary when you think about it. Because they used always the Citadel backdoor, crush all government that always got placed in the Citadel and when all control was gone, they just hunted down the stragling solo systems that offered only limited resistence while also having access to Alpha relay granting them opportunity to strike everywhere at once. They literally always have had the jump on people unaware. First time they didnt have that advantage they lost. Which begs the question - Why no other race thought about it way way earlier that the Citadel might be a death trap? Why nobody scanned the keepers - protheans did it AND in our cycle even the Salarian and the Volus researchers did it? Were those 2 the only smart cycles trying to understand the keepers or what?
@@Dark_Voice If I recall there was some cut dialogue that mentioned some cycles have struggled and resisted more ((I.e didn't instantly roll over and die to the reapers invasion but put up a fight)) but we're still harvested. Apparently there's also some cut dialogue for the catalyst that was originally supposed to imply that Shepard wasn't the first but second organic to ever meet it which meant the crucible has been finished before but whoever made it chose not to fire it. I can understand why they cut that since bioware didn't have time to make some deeper plot about the crucible being SUS.
@@comandercarnis I think what you are talking about was Leviathan "Can you tell me about the Crucible?" "We have watched its construction before. It has never been completed. Those who have tried still fell victim to the Harvest. Its outcome is unknown." The cut dialogue is in direct disagreement with the end product as Leviathan clearly states that it has never been completed. Also define fighting because even Protheans resisted for 300 years before going down. It seems some people got the Crucible sort of built like the Protheans who didnt manage to get the Catalyst, Citadel was too well protected and got whiped out as Liara said "It was incomplete, there was a missing component. Here. Something refered to only as "The Catalyst"." and from Priority: Cerberus HQ we know that Protheans also knew what the Catalyst was. So it seems like Protheans were a race that you're refering to. Javik says that they never finished it. It seems they tried to map all the components first, couldnt get their hands on the Citadel, THEN tried to build it without Citadel and got whiped out before it was ready to use and Citadel was never recaptured. (Its like if humans were building the Crucible, the VI on Thessia would tell them that the Catalyst is the Citadel after which Shepard would try to get hands of the Citadel, would get defeated. Then Reapers would move Citadel to the space between stars and nobody could find it, Crucible was only an incomplete powersource and the united fleets got whiped out in Priority: Earth which lead to slow burn of all resistence and according to Liara after "at least 100 years" everyone was harvested) Other than that, I dont know.
why is it the security protocol is hide behind Shepard, like this vi does nothing else, it can clearly detect things but instead of making so it can't be pulled from the beacon it just hides. like wtf?
If this is a Prothean beacon then it communicates via object reading, so you don't need to remove the statue to talk to it. And it is a holographic UI which also doesn't need to have the statue removed.
Wait a second. Vendetta turned around when Kai Leng came in, as if looking. But he's a VI, he doesn't have eyes, he has sensors. WHY THE HELL DID HE TURN AROUND? Also, the Protheans seem to be very revenge obsessed - Vendetta, all of Javik's take of vengeance....
+thekaboominator1 Protheans were very... "renegade", ruthless and brutal. And a VI is looking, because it is programmed to emulate a real person, to make interactions easier. So If a person would look, VI does too. But it detects Kai Leng before it reacts to it, so it's not like it "saw" him with his eyes or anything.
+thekaboominator1 Its never been said VIs cant see. they can. Plus even if thats true its a prothean VI not a human/asari/salarian/krogan/turian/rachni/batarian etc
The easiest answer is basically the idea that VI/AI will always be programmed to mimic humans when engaging in conversation with them, out of a need to reduce organic anxiety. It's why we also design them to look and sound like us, all in an effort to put us at ease when communicating with them. It breeds familiarity and ease speaking to something that looks like versus, say, an AI that gives it's form an abstraction, or just speaks as a disembodied voice.
Coll thing that they ignored all this speech and just decided " oh well.. Fuck this.. Ypu willd ie anyway and we will force 3 incoherent endings on your ass."
One thing I don't understand is how Vendetta knew who Javik was. During the Prothean extinction the Reapers used the Citadel to isolate all the systems from each other and cull them slowly one at a time. How did he know him if he was a completely seperate part of the galaxy?

Falcon Windblade "The likes of reapers have seen countless synthetic-organic relations for thousands of millennia, & have concluded long ago that without synthesis--something organics are usually very unwilling to go through"
I believe everyone who played the extended cut understand as much, but the problem is still exactly this; The empirical data in the reasoning is missing from what the player can relate to; what we have seen throughout Mass Effect 1 and 2 and 3 until the ending.
Instead there is "A to B to ??????" or "?????? to ?????? to C"
The flow of events in the story don't follow.
The Thessia mission has no meaning without Javik
the beginning of the end... can smell the taint of the catalyst and RGB. still a cool scene though. brining Javik on this mission is always what I do. the added dialog by him is cool. like Legion on Tali's loyalty mission. he belongs in this mission.
ME3 was cursed feom the word go. The crucible itself was the origin of the problem.
4:33 is exactly why the Control ending is BS
+Naomi Amani Except the fact that Shepard isn't indoctrinated like the Illusive Man and his ilk.
firefox3249 I personally believe Shepard was in the process of the Repears attempting Indoctrination on Shep.
I'll give you that one
honestly i fought Liara was fading out because Shepard was tired of her history shit. closing his eyes and wishing for it to end.
Hahaha lmao
"By the Goddess, literally!" :D
What did she mean by this?
Like the rest of us, Sheppard just kinda drones out whenever Liara starts talking.
TGGeko i know i do :P
Look I love Liara so much but sometimes she just needs to be quiet
Ah man never laughed so hard at a UA-cam comment
I just drone out whenever the lady beside me starts talking
She was too annoying and is basically an Asari version of Mordin so I romanced Tali instead.
In a demented way I always found this mission funny af because Javik denies Liara's whole history its sad but I found it so funny
I love how Jarvik starts as openly hostile and then grows to respect Commander Shepard. He was great
I wish the game had let you pick up that sword and shield at around 2:56 and fight Kai Leng with it.
Javik: "Listen to the human. He can be trusted."
Shepard: "Thank you, Javik!"
Wait.. what would the Prothean VI do by interacting with the catalyst? Could he cockblock the ghost child?
Douglas William well we know based on the prothean way of life from Javik, it likely would've remotely fired it to destroy all Synthetic, and thus would've saved the entire last fight from happening, if it was successful.
This is what I loved about Mass Effect 3. I felt like the other 2 were great but they lacked that dialogue/story changing experience just by picking your crewmates makes me put this one at the top. ME3 is also thr first game where I didn't have an obvious favorite crewmate combo.
edi/garrus. strongest combo imo. I always pick them.
You're right about 1, but not 2. 2 was all about building a sizeable crew and their unique dialogues when taking them on missions.
@@lawlestest liara/garrus for me xD.
Starting to think Javik is the Zaeed Masani from ME3
nope, they are 2 different people zaeed was DLC from ME2 and can be found/recruited in ME3 pending you recruited him and he lived thru the suicide mission at the end of ME2....... or you can take the easier route and recruit him and kasumi in the post game to guarantee their survival and still see them in ME3
Creative Gaming actually i did the first option twice
Creative Gaming You pretty much automatically recruit Zaeed when you arrive on Omega, of which you have to visit to get Mordin.
@@ARCEUS493ZELDA I think recruiting Zaeed makes the suicide mission MUCH MUCH easier since you get another 4 score person for the final hold the line.
i wonder what would have happend if it was possible to find javik in me1
+Sherab Tod The council races would've likely been more prepared for the reaper assault. Hell, humanity might have found the plans for the crucible a lil sooner since they didn't start digging on mars again until right before the events of ME3.
+James Sinn Indeed aside the fact that the crucible is a trap.
+Sherab Tod possible that they would keep him in ice or kill him too.. for fearing the myth th unknown
Natasha Zinkiy we will never know.
+Raven Strategist Yes, indeed.
I was angered when I discovered that the "last hope" all the galaxy worked so hard to build was just a part of the master plan of the Reapers to force you to submit to their terms.
Love that they basically confirm the dark energy theory toward the end
I don't think so, the dark Energy was supposed to accelerate the aging of the stars (Harmstorm sun)/assimilate the Galaxy
It shouldn't be able to influence the conflicts in the Milky way
It's not sentient
Liara and javiks relationship.
Liara: "stop gaslighting me!"
Javik: "there you go making uo words again Asari"
Javik literally talking to a ghost of his people. Chilling.
6:37 so Shepherd can't be one; indoctrination theory: false
+Leon Valenzuela It goes as far back as ME 1 on Ilos as Vigil also has Indoctrination Sensors as it sensed Saren was Indoctrinated but not Shep and Co.
The Indoctrination Theory doesn't say that Shepard is indoctrinated. It says that the Reapers are trying to indoctrinate him/her and they succeed if you pick Synthesis or Control.
What is bad about those options? Both lead to peace.
+J. Louie Dinorog What if it didn't give me the option for synthesis. what did I do wrong???
4:09 one of Javik's only smiles in the entire main game, experiencing the simple joy of seeing another one of his kind, even in virtual form. Heartwarming.
ahhh Mass effect 3 one of the epic games i played....exciting and you get the feeling of tension that the enemy is no mere mortal.
Never noticed Javiks little smile when the vi takes prothean form
"Or it could be the prothean standing right next to you."- Javik. Lol that was good
I wish Bioware did not give an origin story for the Reapers with the ending and the Leviathan DLC. It made them much more mysterious, much more frightening, and intimidating.
It also gave us a Shitty ending whose only difference was the color of the Explosion and literally nothing else.
Demon Hunter They would still have their origin, whether you like it or not
Demon Hunter Explaination always destroys the mystery. You can have your own answer for a never officialy solved mystery.
This is the part the bums me out, having javik in me3 just takes up a spot on your team for his knowledge but I like garrus and tali.
I always loved and do love(yep still do reruns...man o man every rerun i find something new..a new piece of dialogue to new loyality..etc) Garrus and Javik..OR Javik and wrex (when available)
"It must be the cypher you found back on Feros."
"Or it could be the Prothean standing next to you."
SO MUCH SHADE!!!!
i like your armor customization
what follows is the biggest fuckup in gaming history. never have i been, and never will i again, feel so frustrated about plot incompetence and railwaying than during the kai leng encounter
Javik: Listen to the human. He can be trusted.
Prothean VI: Your mission was known to me.Do you believe the present cycle can deliver retribution?
Javik: THEY HAVE EARNED THE RIGHT TO TRY.
Prothean VI: Very Well
Me & Shepherd: MY NIGGA!!
Vendetta is interesting. We never actually get much information out of it before Cerberus get their hands on it. And because we know they tampered with it, all information given by Vendetta after this point is suspect. So all we know for sure is:
1/ Repeating Cycles imply there's a greater design involved beyond the Reapers (speculation, confirmed as being essentially a mistake caused by the hubris of the Leviathans though could also potentially be something else as well due to the suspect informations the Leviathans themselves give).
"Do you think this cycle can deliver retribution?"
"Shepard will make Sovereign his bitch, so yeah, I think so" :P
i like how they made the protheans a race of badmans
I remember getting goosebumps this part of the game. Ah, good times.
I love Javik.
prothean sugar dadday
Love how we noticed the slit throats and then forgot "oh someone could be waiting" like wtf shepard your supposed to be smart.
It's really interesting regarding the pattern of evolution after each harvest, too bad they didn't flesh it out more.
I try to give all squad members their screen time, but for this mission I will always choose Javik. The character is just perfect for the mission.
I like the Bill Burr looking Shepard.
Hey, 2021 guy here, glad you put an imperfect complexion on your Shepard
Imagine talking to an ancient alien, who is basically a god; someone whose very existence inspired religion amongst our earliest ancestors!
so the commercial before the video was about gay bears... was um.. interesting
It’s too bad the ending soured me on replaying the Mass Effect games. I would have liked to look forward to the new sequel that is in the works.
This scene was so intense the first time I played it
This scene kinda disproves the indoctrination theory, the protean VI is capable of recognizing an indoctrinated presence, which doesn't recognize when it sees Shepard
After that you could just run away from Kai Leng and his plot armor instead of fighting him.
is shepard supposed to look like spawn?
Yo your Shepard looks like Jason Statham 😂
How Javik isn't a main game character is beyond me.
Oh *good call taking Javik with you on that mission* VideoGameSophistry
Everything about this game except the pacing of the dialog is flawless
And the explanation of why the reapers wipe out life.
Liara as a SB didn't find that secret
Liara was a pretty pathetic SB tbh. She could find your romances in ME2 but she couldnt find something like this.
Bald Shepard again. So Cerberus could resurrect him but growing back his hair is way too impossible of a task?
Sextus70
Sad tae say, I think you are giving them too much credit.
And that one had the reapers killing everyone because the use of Eezo was killing stars with Dark Energy.
lambusado
Nope, that was planned and hinted at in ME2, but scrapped for part 3.
+RavenRyy nah its not that important, the mass effect trilogy is still great
Was... that a smile.... Javik?! 4:10
Taking javik to this mission is the most logical way and the best choice
That's something that always bugged me. The Protheans were sabotaged by indoctrinated individuals. Yet Vendetta senses the ninja dude before he sees him... so why was this technology not employed more broadly to hunt down those under the effects of indoctrination?
This technology was developed as the lat resort to warn future cycles. It was probably too late for them by this point to use it against the reapers
Can't believe I did everything right the first time, got the right characters to be in the right place. It was all a whim, based on seemingly simple logic like "Reaper invades world, Liara should be here, and Javik too, he needs to see this more than anyone."
The way Shepard just starts tuning out Liara.
One of the VERY few slip-ups is that leviathan story was never properly incorporated into the rest of the game.
Well they didn't want to be found and didn't want to be part of the war
Asari helped the Reapers in a war more tha geth did
Javik,was that a smile?
6:20 So this is what Javik's smile looks like
it's so scary to think that in mass effect the reapers have been to our galaxy so many times that literal god tier civilizations were able to be born only to be stricken down by reapers over millions of years in the galaxy.
@@Dark_Voice it's implied the reapers have had hiccups in other cycles but not big enough ones to prevent the harvest.
@@comandercarnis When was it ever implied?
Its outcome is unknown."
The cut dialogue is in direct disagreement with the end product as Leviathan clearly states that it has never been completed.
Then Reapers would move Citadel to the space between stars and nobody could find it, Crucible was only an incomplete powersource and the united fleets got whiped out in Priority: Earth which lead to slow burn of all resistence and according to Liara after "at least 100 years" everyone was harvested)
Other than that, I dont know.
this proves that sheppard isn't indoctrinated
Saren wasn’t fully indoctrinated until after Virmire.
why is it the security protocol is hide behind Shepard, like this vi does nothing else, it can clearly detect things but instead of making so it can't be pulled from the beacon it just hides. like wtf?
It activates security protocols which Kai Leng breaks while Shepard and his squad climbs back\wakes up after the fight
Asari so desperate to believe their god is Prothean, She forget Javik there and think the artifact react to Shepard lol
It's the dialogue from main game. Javik is not obligatory squadmate and you can do this mission without him.
that's a really badass looking Shep.
(The voice actor for Javik in the games is actually Nigerian, Ike Amadi.)
She needs the extra oxygen because Javik's been shitting all over her history during this mission.
If this is a Prothean beacon then it communicates via object reading, so you don't need to remove the statue to talk to it. And it is a holographic UI which also doesn't need to have the statue removed.
"Or it could be the Protean standing next to you" XD
This is one of the few times I don’t bring Garrus.
ME 3
Coll thing that they ignored all this speech and just decided " oh well.. Fuck this.. Ypu willd ie anyway and we will force 3 incoherent endings on your ass."
"we wuz protheans n shieeet"
2:40 oh no, not the actual prothean, no. Must be the human, uh huh.
One thing I don't understand is how Vendetta knew who Javik was. During the Prothean extinction the Reapers used the Citadel to isolate all the systems from each other and cull them slowly one at a time. How did he know him if he was a completely seperate part of the galaxy?
vendetta is a supercomputer. He has all knowledge of protheans. And Javik was a celebrated soldier.
